FOURTEEN

Carolina’s POV,

I don’t know how many days I have been in this cell. My body hurts. I haven’t had a shower. I have no contact with the two men I saw. A man who was has been nice brings me meals and picks up the trays. I have no idea what’s going on? I do however miss Nash like crazy and I hope he is looking for me and that my family hasn’t killed him. I heard a door open, which usually tells me food is on its way, but instead the younger man with the dark hair walked up to my cell. I stood up as I was always taught to never show fear, but the truth was I was scared. Not of dying, but of never seeing my loved ones again. I watched him look me up and down like I was a snack. “What can I do for you?” I asked him.

“Well, you can be a good girl and follow me.” I watched as he unlocked my cell door.

“Where are we going?”

“Boss wants you moved.”

“Why?”

“You ask a lot of questions. Trust me, you will be happy about the move.” I kept my mouth shut as I followed him up a long staircase. When he opened the door at the top of the stairs. We stepped into a whole different world. We were inside a very rich and beautiful home. Servants and people were wandering all around. The man I was with took my arm and lead me through the house and up a grand staircase. At the end of one of the halls. He stopped and opened a door. It leads to a large bedroom that had a bed in the middle of the room. That was larger than a king-size. The room was amazing with gold and red tones. I turned and looked at the guy. “This is your room now.” He pointed to a set of double doors on the left of the room. “That’s your bathroom and the closet has been filled with clothes for you.” I walked out to the middle of the room and looked around.

“But why?” The guy took a deep breath.

“The boss thinks this is better suited for you.” I looked back at him. “The room will be locked. You’re not allowed to leave.” I watched as he started to leave the room.

“Wait,” He stopped and looked at me.

“What’s your name?” He eyed me for a moment.

“Cordel.” He said and then left the room. I wouldn’t say that I was actually happy, but this didn’t suck at the moment. I ran to the bathroom and about shit myself. It was huge with a walk-in bathtub. I walked over and started the water right away. After I got it to the perfect temperature. I walked out and went into the closet. These people think I enjoy the rich life. Everything was still new. Tags and all. Very high end stuff. I found a simple pair of shorts and a soft pink tank top. I grabbed a pair of panties and headed back to the bathroom.

I must have laid in the hot bath for an hour. It felt so damn good. once I was out and brushed out my hair got dressed and headed into the bedroom. I found a tray of food sitting on my bed. Thank god because I was hungry. I heard a light tap at the door and then I heard it unlock. Chris and Cordel walked in and closed the door behind them. “I hope everything in this room is to your liking?”

“It’s fine, but I’m so confused?” Chris took a seat in a chair close to me.

“What are you confused about my dear?”

“Why did you move me?”

“Carolina, I’m not a bad man. I may run one of the largest gangs in the world, but that doesn’t mean I have to be a bastard about it.”

“When will you let me go?”

“When your father steps down to me.” I just shook my head and smiled.

“I hate to break this to you, but that will never happen.”

“Even if he never wants to see you again?”

“You just don’t get it. I’m one person, the gang is thousands maybe even millions. My life is not worth all of theirs. My father will never step down.” I watched as he was clearly thinking to himself.

“Then I guess you will either be with us a very long time. Or you will die.” I know how the mafia works. You live by the sword you die by the sword. If a member stands in the way of hundreds. That members lay their lives down for all. Blood family is no exception to the rule. The only problem that this man doesn’t understand is that my father will never give up until he finds me dead or alive. No matter what, I’m looking at a dead man. “This is one of my right-hand men Cordel. He is going to be in charge of you. Look at him as a bodyguard.” I watched as you could tell Cordel wasn’t happy about his new job as my guard. My heart hurt when I thought about Nash at that moment. Cordel was big like Nash, hell he was good looking like Nash, but he wasn’t Nash. “If you need or want anything, Cordel here is the man to go to.” Chris stood up and started to leave the room. Once the door was closed. I looked over at Cordel.

“I’m sorry you’re stuck with me.”

“Easy job, I’ll get to relax.” He said while he took a seat close to the door. There was a knock and Cordel answered it. He had to pull out keys to open the door. A huge food tray was brought into my room and it smelled delicious to me. I knew at that moment, once the man left and Cordel sat back down that getting out of this and saving my family was going to be up to me. The only person that I felt would be the one to help me would be Cordel. I had to win him over. I knew I was going to have to do things that I didn’t want to do, but survival was going to be number one. I could only hope now that my family and Nash would forgive me.

Over the next few weeks getting close to Cordel was easy. After a few days and me being a good little prisoner. Cordel started to relax and show his true side. Of course, the only thing that I didn’t do was stay modest. I showed a lot of skin around Cordel. I had to entice him, but I didn’t act like a sluty little whore either. I just stayed comfortable around him. Once I showed everyone I wasn’t going to be a problem. Chris said there would be a time I would be allowed out of my room. Like to go out by the pool or to just get out of my room. As long as Cordel was with me. I was still waiting for that to happen and of course, gave Cordel shit about it. I needed to see the house and to know its layout. I had to find a way to escape. “Cordel?” He looked over at me. “Are you tired of me yet?” I said with a smile. He smiled back at me.

“Yeah.”

“Lier.” He rolled his eyes.

“What do you want woman?”

“To go swimming.”

“Have you seen your bathtub?” I rolled my eyes this time.

“Come on Cordel. I have been a good girl.” I said with my lips out. “I have like five bathing suits sitting in the drawer over there. What good are they?” Cordel narrowed his eyes at me. He stood up and I smiled and bit my lip.

“I’ll be right back.” I clapped my hands and he just shook his head and left the room. He didn’t lock the door though. I waited a few seconds and then walked towards the door. I listened and I didn’t hear anything. I cracked the door open and took a look. The hallway was quiet. I took a step out and left the door cracked. I could hear voices down the hall and I wanted to get closer just to see what I could hear. I slowly walked and then I saw him. My heart almost stopped as I was looking at my friend Alex talking with Chris and Cordel. I took off and ran back to my room. I couldn’t believe Alex was a part of this. He must have been watching me this whole time. Was this the same place I came to for the party that night? I closed the door behind me and went into the bathroom.
