Chapter 8

What the fuck just happened?! The guy just blows my mind and runs away?

“Nice,” Ryan’s voice came into my room as he rounded the doorway and looked at me seductively.

I forgot that I was still lying here wide open. Leaning up, I pushed my skirt down and fixed my blouse.

“What the fuck do you want, Ryan?” I asked, feeling annoyed by his presence. “Tell me you weren’t out there the whole time.”

He shook his head. “Not the entire time, but long enough to hear you scream.” He winked at me and then reached into his pocket before tossing the two hundred bucks at me. “I didn’t think you could do it, but you surprised the hell out of me.” Then he walked up to me and grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at him. “Wanna go another round with a real man?”

Disgusted, I swatted his hand away and stood up from my bed.

“Get out, Ryan. You’re here for Rose, not for me.”

He laughed. “Babe, I’ve been trying to get into your pants all semester.” He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, capturing me against his chest as I felt his half erection in my backside. “Tommy tells all the guys how fucking hot you are in the sack. I want to take a test run myself. Come on, Taylor, you know you want me.”

I spun in his arms and kneed him in the balls. He went down like a sack of potatoes and yelled something at me as I ran from my bedroom.

Halfway down the main staircase, Mitch stopped me in my tracks and looked a bit panicked.

“Tommy just showed up,” he blurted.

Shit. Is there anything else tonight that wants to get worse for me?! Seriously!

“Okay, and?” I tried to play it cool.

“And we all agreed that we should keep this little bet to ourselves. You know how Tommy can get.”

I rolled my eyes, knowing exactly what he meant. A few months ago, Tommy bashed some kid’s nose in for making out with me. I mean, he knows that we’re not exclusive and I don’t belong to him, but he wasn’t afraid to show his jealous side.

“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.” I was mostly agreeing for Damon’s sake. I could deal with Tommy, but Damon was already massively picked on by my friends. I didn’t want Tommy messing with Damon.

I went around Mitch and joined the others in the living room, spotting Tommy right away with a blonde chick on his lap. Our arrangement was funny like this. We didn’t belong to one another, yet we always ended up together. Like tonight, one look at Tommy and the way he looked at me now, I knew he’d be coming up to my bedroom tonight and not going home with the blonde. It’s just how it was between us.

And I knew that if we were keeping the bet a secret, then I can’t tell Tommy about what Ryan just did upstairs either. Fuck.

I need a drink.

Sauntering into the kitchen without saying a word to any of them, I mixed a strong drink and gulped it back. Then I felt strong arms wrap around me and Tommy’s familiar scent fill my nose.

“I’m bored, you wanna go upstairs yet?” He murmured into my ear.

I did, but not with him; however, I knew I would because that’s how this worked.

“Yeah, let’s go.” I grabbed Tommy’s hand and led him upstairs to my bedroom, shutting the door as I turned and found him stripping out of his clothes and looking at me like I was dessert.
