CHAPTER TWO
~~ADRENA~~

My heart was nearly pounding out of my chest and I felt affected all over. My nipples ached to be nibbled on, I ached to be touched between my thighs, and damn if my body didn’t need an orgasm right now.

Never in my life have I had a man affect me so much before. Not even when I first met Karl and his charms. From the moment this Dash guy insulted my work to the moment he left my studio I was affected by him. Throw in his Irish accent and I was a goner. I tried so hard not to be affected by him but I couldn’t help myself. Honestly, if we were in a more private setting, I would have jumped his bones right then and there and wouldn’t have felt bad about it.

I didn’t know Dash from a stranger on the street, but I felt something in him. Honesty. Integrity. Trust. I can’t explain it, but I felt like I knew the man and it was doing all kinds of things to my mind and body, specifically my libido.

“Guess he liked your work, huh?” Kristina broke through my thoughts while I was helping her close up shop.

“Yep,” is all I could say. I couldn’t get the man out of my mind and it was driving me crazy. It was good thing I lived alone, because tonight I was going to pleasure myself to thoughts of him and not worry about being caught in the action. Damn, he made me hot.

“That’s a pretty big feat. He doesn’t just let anyone ink him. He’s been Bobby’s client for forever. So, I was surprised that he let you and scheduled another appointment for tomorrow.”

When I turned to look at Kristina, she was smirking at me with a knowing look.

“Don’t,” I warned.

“What? I didn’t say anything.” Kristina held up her hands before she laughed. “But, it was hard to miss how he looked at you when you came in behind him.”

I groaned. “Seriously, don’t. You know I can’t get mixed up with anyone right now. It isn’t a coincidence that I ran from El Paso, Kris, and getting involved with a man right now is the last thing on my mind.” Although it wasn’t. He was on my mind at this very moment and I couldn’t help but wonder how he would feel against my body. I had no doubt that man could pleasure me in more ways than one. And when he took his shirt off? I almost passed out from the sight of him. All hard, defined muscles beneath tanned skin made my mouth water. And who could ignore that five o’clock shadow he had on his jaw?” It took everything I had not to slip my fingers into his dark hair, pull him close, and nibble on that jaw of his while he explored my body with his strong hands.

“You still haven’t told me what happened. Why you’re here and not back home.” Kristina was prying again and I was in no mood for it.

“I don’t want to talk about it and I don’t know if I ever will. Just remember that if anyone comes by or calls looking for me, you’ve never seen me.” I haven’t told Kristina anything, other than the fact that I was in a bad situation back home and needed a place to start over and that Kristina was to tell no-one.

Kristina sighed. “I wish you’d tell me something.” She closed the cash register and grabbed her purse. “But, I get it. My lips are sealed. Not let’s get out of here.”

I was thankful that my cousin dropped the subject again for now and drove me home. I had stayed with Kristina when I first arrived, but her apartment was tiny, and sleeping on her couch was the most uncomfortable thing I had ever slept on. So, I took part of the money I stole from Karl and put myself up in a small efficiency apartment.

After saying goodbye to Kristina, I climbed the steps to my apartment, let myself in, and slumped down on the thrift store couch I bought a few days ago, and kicked my feet up on the coffee table. I didn’t have much in here as I didn’t need much and didn’t want to spend all the money I stole in case I needed it for an emergency and just go the essentials; all at great prices down the road at the thrift store. I was thankful that the old lady who owned the building had her grandson over for the weekend and he helped me carry up my new/used furniture with no complaints. He hit on me, of course, but I shut him down as nicely as I could.

Now I was faced with yet another guy.

But this guy was different. I couldn’t get him out of my mind and he was making me feel things I haven’t felt in a very long time.

I got up from the couch and went to open the only window in the room and frowned when it wouldn’t open. Cursing under my breath, I pulled out the burner phone I picked up on my way out East; I didn’t want to be traced so I bought a pre-paid piece of junk until I knew I was safe enough and could get more settled into my new life. I called down to the sweet little old lady who owned the building and lived on the first floor and told her that my window cracked op and then stopped opening; it was broken. Little old Macy laughed and said she’d send someone up. Apparently she had someone over looking at the stairs and once he was done there he’d be up to her apartment.

Until then, I stripped out of my clothes in the middle of the room and put on a t-shirt I had bought from the thrift store and had cut the sleeves off of. It covered my ass but left little to the imagination with the sleeves cut off. It gave me a serious case of side boob, but I didn’t care, I lived alone and I was stifling hot.

It wasn’t long before someone began knocking on my door as I cracked it open and found a familiar face standing on the other side, yet it wasn’t familiar. The five o’clock shadow was gone and his eyes were a different color. Was I dreaming right now?”

“Um,” he cleared his throat, giving me a once-over, “Macy said you were having an issue with your window?”

I nodded and let him into my apartment. He looked so much like Dash, I thought. Was he on my mind that much that every guy I came across looked like him? I seriously need to stop.

“Yeah, I tried to open it. It sounded like it was going to start opening, but then it just stopped and the handle jammed up.” I walked him to the window and turned to look at him. It was clear that he was just checking me out and it was obvious that he couldn’t help but look at my side book, making me feel hot under his gaze. He seriously looked like Dash and the thought of jumping his bones came back into my mind again. However, I couldn’t help but notice he was also trying to be a gentleman. He only looked at me seductively for a moment, but quickly changed his demeanor to something more innocent.

“These are really old windows. Everything in this building is old, but I can fix it for now. At least until Macy decides to replace them.” I watched him bed down and pull some tools from a small toolbox and got to work.

I took this time to go into the kitchen and start making something for dinner. My stomach had been growling all day.

But I was thrown off when the guy came into the kitchen and smiled at me. “It’s fixed. Well, fixed enough to open it, just be gentle about it.”

I nodded, still staring at him, and still completely awed over how much he looked like Dash.

“Thanks,” I replied before he turned and walked out, shutting my apartment door behind him. “I seriously need to get him off of my mind.” I was talking to myself now and it made me laugh.

I was setting up my station the next morning before Kristina opened shop and I was in a sour mood. Sure, I got a full belly and had a great night's sleep but I didn’t get to have private time with thoughts of Dash before falling asleep and now I was sexually frustrated.

Not to mention it was hot as hell out today so not only was I sexually frustrated, but now I was sticky and frustrated from the heat. I didn’t bother putting on my normal work attire of jeans and a tight tank because of the heat and went with something more cool; a black skirt and a loose fitting top that tied around the back of my neck. I was sporting some side boob again today and flaunting the tats on my arms and honestly just ignored all the steamy looks I was getting from all the guys in the shop. I would stay back in my corner all day if I had to.

I heard the bell above the door chime as our first client of the day entered the parlor and I knew it was Dash. We opened at noon and his appointment was at noon, so I knew it was him, and wasn’t surprised at all when I saw him walking back towards me.

The sight of him made my mouth water and my nipples harden, pressing against the soft material of my shirt. He looked different than yesterday, wearing sweats and a cut off t-shirt versus jeans and a nice shirt. Either way, he still looked yummy and I wanted a taste.

He smiled at me when he caught me looking at him across the shop. “Hey.” His voice was gravely and it sent a wave of arousal over my crimson skin and straight between my legs. And when he got closer he gave me a once-over while his eyes burned with desire, causing me to lick my lips.

“Hey. You ready for round two, Creeper?” I asked, spinning on my chair towards my work station to begin prepping my tools for the session.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” His voice was filled with humor and I couldn’t help but smile, his Irish accent thick.

When I turned back in his direction I watched him pull his shirt over his head and toss it on the empty chair across from us. And I was gawking, there was no doubt about it. I only got a small glance of his front yesterday, but now as he stood there in front of me, I was able to really get a good look at him. And I like what I see. He was pure muscle, perfectly sculpted from hours at the gym no doubt, and I wanted to drag my tongue across his abs; to see what he tasted like. I had no doubt he would taste like pure man and I was craving him.

I finally looked back into his eyes and he was watching me with an amused gleam in his eyes as he drew his lower lip between his teeth, which only made me crave him more; except I wanted my lip between his teeth, not his own. The thought of it made me pull my lip between my teeth and I swear I heard a groan echo through his chest, his gaze darkening with desire for her.

I panicked and spun away from him, only to accidently trip on my own two feet and nearly toppled over my machine. But then I felt Dash’s hands steady me and his hands were hot against my flesh, squeezing my hips.

“Easy there,” he stated, his voice low, as I spun in his hands and came face to face with broad shoulders. His hands were still on my sides as he stared down into my eyes. I couldn’t move; couldn’t breathe. His hands felt amazing against my skin and I never wanted him to let me go.

I bit down on my bottom lip again as I trembled in his embrace, his eyes searched mine for some kind of approval and when I blinked and my arousal peaked, it seemed that he had seen what he was looking for because his hands slid up my sides, making me shiver. I felt his thumbs trace the outside of my breasts as my nipples hardened until they were painful. We continued to stay silent as our eyes locked on one another’s. His right thumb came dangerously close to my nipple.

I sucked in a breath and instinctively arched my back, pushing my breasts into his chest as my nipples grazed against him, only relieving my slightly. He was biting down on his bottom lip again and I pictured his sweet mouth wrapped around my nipple, sucking and nibbling, just how I liked it until I was writing in his arms.

“Hey, Adrena,” Adam’s voice broke our intimate hold as I stepped away from Dash and looked at my co-worker. “I hate to ask, but do you have an extra green over there? I need to finish this chicks flower and ran out of green. I thought I had extra’s, but...” He looked between Dash and I with a knowing look and hid the smirk that was starting to turn up his lips and waited for me to produce the green that he needed.

I was shaky and still full of arousal as I went to my workbench and dug in the drawer where I kept my extra ink and scanned over them. “Yeah, here you go.” I tossed him the small container as he disappeared back to his own booth, leaving Dash and me alone once again.

He was breathing heavily, watching me intently and he looked like he wanted to say something but not sure what to say. So I continued setting up and slipped on a pair of gloves. “Ready?” My voice cracked and I hoped he didn’t notice.

Dash sat on the chair, turning his back to me and not saying a word. There wasn’t anything to say. I had no idea what had even come over me. I barely knew the guy and I had let him touch me like that? It was obvious that I needed to have a release, but I knew better than to give it up to the first guy who took my breath away. It didn’t work like that and I knew it.

I noticed he wasn’t asking a bunch of questions today and stayed silent while I worked. But now I was wondering what he was thinking about. He was clearly just as affected by our encounter as I had been, so that might explain why he was being quiet; I just wish he’d say something though.

“So,” I began, wanting to break the awkward silence, “I couldn’t help but notice your accent. Ireland, right? How long have you been here?”

He didn’t answer right away and seemed to be battling something within himself before he took a deep breath. “I’ve been here since I was sixteen. Yes, Ireland.” His answers were short and to the point.

I couldn’t help but wonder if he was affected by how turned on that encounter made him or if he was kicking himself for letting things get out of hand. Either way, I wanted to break the awkwardness between us.

I wiped the last of the ink off and smeared the tattoo goo on him once again, taping him on the shoulder.

“You’re all set, big boy.” I rolled away and tore my gloves off, tossing them in the trash, before turning to watch him walk up to the mirror and check out his new ink.

“Wow,” he breathed, really looking at the new piece, “you’re amazing; really.”

I couldn’t help but blush. “Thanks.”

He turned to me and pulled his wallet out, grabbing out several hundred dollar bills and handing them to me.

“You pay Kristina,” I stated, nodding my head towards the front of the shop.

“I know that. This is your tip.” He nodded towards his hand and waved the cash towards me again.

I looked down at the bills in his hand and saw that he was trying to hand me $500, which was more than the cost of the tattoo itself, and shook my head.

“I can’t take that. That’s too much.”

He grabbed my hand and shoved the cash into my palm before closing my fingers. “It isn’t too much. You did an amazing job and had to put up with this creeper. So, for that, it was worth it. Please, take it.”

I swallowed before letting out a small laugh, then slowly nodded and shoved the small wad of cash into my back pocket. “Thank you,” I said softly, nearly in a whisper.

Then he did the unthinkable and placed his hand on my cheek and leaned forward to lightly kiss my lips. I froze in my spot, but once I felt his lips, I nearly lost it and kissed him back. He kept the kiss sweet and subtle before stepping away from me.

“Thanks for putting up with my shit.” He winked at me, grabbed his shirt, and headed towards the front of the shop.

And I stood there completely thrown off my rocker. He just kissed me. No explanation. No more hands on my skin. I got just a small, simple kiss. A kiss that totally sent my world spinning and now he was gone; and I was horny as hell.

I gave it sometime before I walked up to the front of the shop. I wanted to make sure Dash had paid and was on his way before I went up there. After scanning over the appointment book, I saw there wasn’t a single name down for the day under mine and sighed out.

“You’ll get clients soon, babe, don’t worry,” Kristina said from over her shoulder. “Why don’t you go home and get some rest. You look stressed out and I’ll call you if someone comes in.”

It was a blessing that I lived so close by. I only let Kristina give me a ride home when it was blistering hot out of if I had to go grocery shopping, but usually, I would just walk. And it was days like today that I loved living close, so I could go home and chill until someone came in and wanted some work done by a new girl. I knew it would take a while before someone wanted me to working on them, but a week and half later and Dash was my only client. It only made me wonder if I should find a job elsewhere until things picked up.

“Yeah, I think I might,” I replied, looking up to see what time it was. “Call me if anyone comes in.”

We said goodbye and I walked out into the Georgia heat and made my way back to my apartment. By the time I got there, I desperately needed a shower because I was sweating like a prostitute in a church and because thoughts of Dash were still making me hot and heavy; I needed to cool down stat.

But as soon as I stepped foot into my building, I stopped dead in my tracks and gaped at the sight in front of me. This can’t be happening right now, I thought.
