Chapter 2

I sat on the bed trying to make sense of what had happened.

It was impossible.

I'd been here for a few hours, and I'd humiliated myself. What if James told Georgia her creepy friend was watching him have sex? Oh God, what if he told everyone?

I groaned and threw myself back on the bed. This had to be one of the most embarrassing things that had happened to me.

A loud knock on the door made me jump.

"Sophie! Are you ready?"

It was Georgia. I dawdled to the door, forcing a smile on my face.

"Hey, come in!"

My voice came out at a higher pitch than normal, and she eyed me suspiciously.

"I thought we could go for some cocktails before we meet the boys for dinner?" She said, sitting down on the bed.

I felt my cheeks burn.

"Oh umm, yeah. Sounds good." I said, unable to muster up much enthusiasm.

Georgia sighed.

"I know you're nervous, but you are here now, so you might as well have some fun! Get ready, and then we can head out. They're dying to meet you!"

I gave her a look of surprise.

"I am ready!"

I looked down at my outfit. I had on a white maxi skirt and a flowery vest top. Ok, so it wasn't as sexy as Georgia's silk dress and heels, but it looked fine.

Georgia stood up and rolled her eyes.

"Come on, Sophie. You can't go out for the night dressed like that!"

I gave her a look of indignation and she touched my arm.

"I know you like to feel comfortable, but this is Ibiza. You'll stand out more if you wear something like that."

I considered what she had said. I didn't want to look like Georgia's frumpy friend, especially in front of James.

I remembered the look on his face when he had seen me watching. How he had pounded harder into Bella. He hadn't taken his eyes off me, and that had turned me on so much.

I heard Georgia cough, and it pulled me back into reality.

"Ok, pick out what I should wear." I said, before I could change my mind.

Georgia squealed.

"I'm going to get someone to bring some drinks to us! Oh, and you can borrow one of my dresses. I'll even do your hair and make-up for you!"

If anything pleased Georgia, it was dressing me up like a Barbie doll. She was always telling me I had an amazing figure, and that I should show it off more. She worked as a freelance makeup artist, and had built up a wealth of clients over the years.

As for my hair and make up, less was more. I always tied my hair back, and I never bothered putting much more than eyeshadow on.

"Georgia, don't get too carried away... I want to feel comfortable." I muttered, my stomach lurching.

She picked up the phone to call for room service.

"Trust me, Sophie, when am I ever wrong?"

**********

I drained the rest of my second, or third, glass of champagne. Who was keeping count anyway? The more I drank, the less worried I felt about seeing James. That could only be a good thing.

"Wow Soph, you look hot. You should listen to me more often! In fact, we are going shopping tomorrow. I'm going to pick a whole new wardrobe for you." Georgia said, draining her own glass.

I turned as I finally looked in the full-length mirror. I barely recognised the reflection staring back at me.

Georgia had curled my hair, and it fell down my shoulders in loose waves. She'd blended so many things into my face that I thought I'd resemble a drag queen. Yet, my skin was glowing. She'd laid off the eye make up, knowing that I wouldn't be comfortable with lots of eyeliner and mascara.

And then there was the dress. Bright electric blue and skin tight, I'd never worn anything so sexy before. I turned to look at the back. It was strapless and had a chunky gold zip going the whole way down the back.

"Sophie, your figure is to die for!" Georgia said, nudging me.

"I don't know if it's too sexy. It's not me." I muttered, tugging the hem down.

She sighed and took hold of my hand.

"Why can't it be you? Come on, you're on holiday. Let your hair down and relax!"

I exhaled slowly.

"I don't want to stand out, this dress shows me off too much."

"Listen, I promise you look good, and if anyone bothers you, I'll tell them to fuck off!"

I stared at my reflection. It had been so long since I had looked in the mirror and felt sexy. Maybe she was right.

"Ok, fine. I'll wear the dress!"

Georgia hugged me.

"Yes!! This is going to be so much fun. Right, we need more drinks. Let's head to the bar. The boys are already there."

I knew she noticed the look of hesitation flash across my face.

"Relax, Sophie. Tonight will be fun. They will all love you." Georgia said, linking her arm in mine.
