I sat in the van wondering how I was going to show my face to my sister? I had no answers for what had happened to Sebastian. I never even seen him get hurt. No body, no nothing. Just missing would be the only words to come out of my mouth.

That was until we pulled up to the plane and I seen a doctor waiting. We jumped out of the vans and I looked to my left as two of my men were helping Sebastian out. I took off towards him. He didn’t look too good. “He has taken a bullet to his stomach.” One of my men announced. The doctor and his team helped Sebastian onto the plane. In the back of the plane, the doctor was tending to him.

“How’s he doing doc?” I asked.

“He needs surgery and I’m doing what I can to hold him over until then.”

“Then we make an emergency landing in the next nearest city.” I made the arrangements and we were landing in Dallas Texas. My father of course was against this as we still had Cane alive with us. “Do you really want to put Anna through any more hell?” I snapped at him. He hung his head.

“We’re going to have to have him moved or leave him behind.”

“That’s a chance I’m willing to take for his life.” Ryder nodded at me. Sebastian was picked up at the airport and rushed to the hospital. My men took care of all questions has there were a lot asked. I called home and had to break the news to Anna. Of course, she wanted to be here and I told her she had to wait. I once again promised her he would be okay. Sebastian was in surgery for over three hours before I got any information. My father came walking up to me.

“He is doing good and will be airlifted home in the morning. Let’s go we have a plane of our own to catch.”

“Wait a minute? How did you pull that off?”

“Money talks son and I have connections now let’s get the fuck out of here.” I nodded at him and the next thing I knew we were home. The women were picked up and brought back to the main house. Anna was a mess. I held her and told her I had no answers yet on what actually happened, but that he would be home the next day. Still, she was a wrack and Aurora was doing all she could to calm her down. Cane was locked down in our basement. My father was still trying to figure out what he was going to do. Canes life was going to be taken. That much we all knew, but I have my father all rights to him and stayed out of it. He had our mother killed and he defiled my sister. I was sure his death wasn’t going to be an easy one. All I knew for sure was that this nightmare was soon to be over.

Anna was too consumed with worry about Sebastian to even think about Cane. I know this sounds bad but I was grateful for it. I wasn’t sure if my father was going to allow Anna anywhere near Cane and frankly I was hoping he wouldn’t, but that was up to them. I stayed out of it. I jumped into the shower and heard the door open behind me. “I’m so glad you are safe.” I heard her beautiful voice ring out. I turned to face her.

“Are you?” She nodded her head at me as she took the soap and started to wash me.

“How did it go?”

“Surprisingly well. We lost some men but everything is gone.” I had a few bruises taking a few punches along the way, but other than that I was in good shape.

“What happened with Sebastian?” She asked me.

“Honestly I don’t know. I won’t have any answers until I can talk with him. All I know right now is that he is going to be fine. I have a doctor and nurse set up here. So he can come home first thing.”

“That’s good but your sister is losing her shit. It took everything in me to keep her from taking off. She is just as stubborn as you are if not more.” I had to smile at that because I knew it was true. My sister could be a force to be reckoned with.

It’s been only a week since we took out Canes men. Sebastian has been home and Anna hasn’t left his side. He is doing really well and told us that he was hit when we all fled the house. One of my men named Jacob. A young man with now a bright future with this family. Stopped and helped him back. He was new and didn’t know to report this right away. But all in all, was rewarded for his loyalty.

I was working in my office with Ethan and Sebastian, who by the way is just as stubborn as the rest of us. When my father came walking in. We all looked up at him. “Where’s Anna?” He asked and he didn’t sound relaxed. Sebastian stood up.

“Last I knew they were down by the water,” I said. “What’s going on?”

“She needs to be given the choice.”

“The choice for what?” I demanded.

“To face Cane before I kill him.” I rolled my eyes and looked to Sebastian for support. He just tilted his head.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“I don’t really give a fuck what you think. She has to face her demons to truly move on and I will give her the choice.”

That evening we were all sitting in the living room after dinner. This is how most nights usually go. “Anna I need to ask you a question.” My father started. She handed the baby over to Aurora and me. I loved to watch Aurora with the baby. I knew in my heart she was going to be a perfect mother. Anna went and took a seat next to my father.

“What is it? Is everything okay?” My father patted her hand. As far as I was aware Anna hadn’t asked any questions about Cane since the whole thing went down.

“Cane is being held at one of the warehouses under a ton of security. I want you to have the option of facing him. Of course, the choice is completely up to you. He will die, but if you need to say or do anything. Now is that time.” Anna looked almost scared at first, but then she stood up and looked my father dead in his eyes.

“Let’s go.” My father nodded at her and Sebastian came to her side.

“Do you want me to go with you?” He asked her.

“No, I want you here with our daughter. This is something I have to do on my own.”

“I will be going with you,” I announced and both Anna and Ryder nodded their heads at me. Aurora looked frightened and I wrapped my arm around her. I leaned in close and whispered in her ear. “I need to see this end so we can move on.” I winked at her and she smiled back at me. The three of us left the room to change and head over to the warehouse. Anna was ready to go dressed in a pair of sweats and a hoodie. My father wasn’t kidding when he said the place was heavily guarded. I haven’t been here since we got back home.

We were lead down into the basement of the warehouse. Several rooms lined the halls. We stopped and Ryder turned towards Anna. “He is just behind this door. You are perfectly safe. He can not get to you. I must warn you. He has been badly beaten and is holding on.” Anna nodded her head and we opened the door to a sight I was prepared for. My father Ryder Dankworth is a monster. There was no way this man could still be alive after what my father has put him through. Two men stood in the background. There was resuscitative equipment in the room. Obviously to keep Cane alive. I wasn’t the best man in the world and I have taken lives, but this was on a different level. Even I was sickened by the sight before us. Cane lifted his head just enough to look at us. Then he formed a smile on his beaten face.

“I knew they would bring you to me.” He hissed out looking only at Anna.
