Nicolas’s POV,

I don’t know what happened as I went ahead and stepped over the boundaries. Seeing her naked flesh did something to me. I knew she was beautiful, but damnit if she wasn’t sexy as sin. As soon as her robe opened my dick twitched and I’m now hooked. I knew I needed her. I knew I wanted to feel her naked flesh against mine. She closed her eyes as I bent down and ran my tongue across her bottom lip. My hands were on her hips. Her body shivered with my touch. I knew I could have her right then and there.

I ended up taking a step back and realized what I was doing. I moved a piece of her hair away from her face. Her eyes were still closed. I just couldn’t do it. She is too pure and good for me. I don’t deserve someone like her. She certainly doesn’t deserve someone like me. She is someone’s queen, perfect wife material for a man like us. Just not mine. Her eyes stayed close as I left the kitchen and hurried to my bedroom. I was mad at myself for becoming weak at that moment. She is probably wondering what she has done wrong and it’s not her, it’s me and my fucked up ways.

I did my best to keep my distance from her and for the last three days. I have done a pretty good job of doing that, but I think I have now pissed her off. I knew it would only be a matter of time before she corners me and confronts me. It’s just her way. Aurora has never been a shy girl and if something is bothering her she will get it out one way or another.

After dinner, I grabbed a cigar and went to have a seat outback. The night was cool and everything was quiet. Then I heard the back door open and I knew it was her before I saw her. “Yes, Aurora?” I turned my head slightly and she stood there with her arms crossed. I knew she was pissed.

“Why have you been ignoring me?”

“I haven’t been ignoring you.” Lies.

“Yes, you have Nick. I’m not dumb you know.”

“Why would I?” She just stood there and looked at me. “Look Aurora, I’m not the man for you. I know we have this tension between us and I would like nothing more than to bring you to bed, but that would be all it was and I don’t want to hurt you.” I heard her laugh. I looked up at her and she had a smile on her face. “Exactly what is funny?”

“You are funny Nick. I don’t want you like that.” Que my mouth hitting the floor. “I love you Nick, but not in that way. I mean don’t get me wrong. I may have had a moment but you are like a brother to me. I’m not like these girls you fuck with. I will not be bowing to your feet. Hoping to feel your dick inside of me.” My eyes were huge as I listened to the first woman to ever deny me, and it was only making me want her more. “I’m your friend and I don’t want you to have to ignore me or walk on eggshells around me.” All I could do was nod my head. What the fuck? I said to myself. “Let’s just forget about the other night, okay?” I nodded again. She walked over to me and hugged me and left me sitting out here like a lost puppy dog.

I didn’t know if I was shocked, pissed, or horny. I didn’t expect her to act that way. In fact, I expected for her to be begging for me. Fucking women and their head games. I needed to get out of my headspace and back to my work. That’s it, I’ll just focus on my work. That will keep my mind busy. Maybe I just need to get laid? I’ll get some and I will be over this crap with Aurora. I ended up making myself a drink when I heard some laughing behind me. Ethan and Aurora came walking into the kitchen. Both lost in conversation and Aurora had a beautiful smile on her face. Jealousy spiked inside of me like wildfire. “Oh hey man,” Ethan said. I looked at him like a wild beast about to strike. Calm down, she does not belong to you. I nodded at them both and left the room. If I didn’t leave at that moment. I would have beaten my best friend within an inch of his life.

“What’s up with you and Aurora?” Ethan asked as we sat side by side heading home after picking up a shipment at the shipping yards. The night ran smoothly with no problems. I turned and looked at him.

“Nothing, what’s up with the two of you?” I hissed out.

“Look man, she is just my friend. A friend I have known for years. You have the wrong idea because you have feelings for her.”

“I don’t have feelings for her.”

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that. See if it works out for you. I am your best friend so I’m going to give you some advice. Decide whether or not you have those feelings or not and do something about it. Because if you do have feelings and you choose to ignore them. Somebody else is going to come along and scoop her up. Aurora is a bright intelligent beautiful woman. And she ain’t gonna sit single for long. I wouldn’t dare take that step because I’m your best friend. But somebody else isn’t going to care about your feelings.”

“I’m not that man for her.”

“I agree with you, but I also disagree with you.” I looked at him with confusing eyes. “She could quite possibly be your queen and because of all those mixed feelings inside your head. You’re never going to know, and that makes me sad. She could potentially be your match, Nicholas.”

“She has already made it perfectly clear that she doesn’t want me that way.” Ethan just snickered to himself.

“Please man, that woman wants you as much as you want her.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because everyone knows that.” I just shook my head and stayed quiet the rest of the way home. We all headed inside for a drink for a good night’s work. I heard the television on and peeked around the corner to see Aurora passed out on the couch with a horror movie playing. I looked back at my men and snuck out of the kitchen. I grabbed a blanket off the back of the couch and covered her with it. I didn’t mean to wake her, but her eyes looked up at me and she smiled.

“Stop that.”

“Stop what?” She asked me.

“Looking at me like I’m your favorite person in the world.” She just kept smiling. I took a seat next to her and drank my beer.

“How was your night?”

“Smooth.”

“Why aren’t you in there with your men?”

“Because I would rather be out here.” She sat herself up.

“Do you want to watch something?”

“Why so I can hear you snoring?” She smiled and pushed me.

“Shut up Nick. I don’t snore.” I rolled my eyes.

“Please I came in here in the first place to quiet you up.” She laughed and I loved it.

“Is that a smile on your face?” She moved closer to me. “I think that’s a smile.” I looked over at her. She bit her lip and then she started to try and tickle me.

“So you want to play?” I grabbed her and brought her to my lap just to start tickling her.

“Nick, damnit stop it!” She cried out through her laughter.

“You still want to play?”

“It’s not fair you are stronger than me.” I laugh at her words. I tickled her just a little more as she did her best to punch me.

“Your little taps are not going to save you, princess.”

“Nick!” She yelled out. I stopped and was laughing with her.

“You big bully.” Our faces were dangerously close to each other. We both started breathing heavily. All I wanted to do was touch my lips to hers, and I think she wanted the same.

“What’s going on in here?” We both turned our heads to see Michelle standing behind us with her arms crossed and she looked pissed off. Aurora immediately removed herself from my lap. That pissed me off. “What’s going on Nicholas?” Michelle asked.

“Nothing, I was just heading off to bed,” Aurora said as she walked past Michelle without looking at her. Michelle just watched her and then looked back at me. I rolled my eyes. This bitch was now starting to get on my nerves.

“Are you fucking her, Nicolas?” I jumped off the couch and looked at her.

“If I’m fucking her or anyone else. It’s none of your fucking business. I think it’s time you had your own place Michelle, and anything that has been going on between you and I is over now.” I snapped and walked right past her.

“Nicolas, you don’t mean that.”

“The fuck I don’t!”
