Izzy AKA Anna’s POV,

“What’s on your mind babe?” Sebastian asks me while I sit in our bedroom window. Watching the rainfall. “You are thinking of them again, aren’t you?” He wasn’t wrong. He wasn’t wrong. I often think of my other family. I’ll never forget that first year after I was taken from my bed. I remember waking up to a sound that I didn’t recognize. I sat up in bed and tried my best to look around. I didn’t see anyone and after a few moments. I gave in thinking I was only hearing things and got up to use the bathroom.

I did my business and headed back to bed. That’s when I was attacked and I felt a sharp pain in my neck. Things went black and when I woke up. I was in a cage laying on a dirty small mattress. I had no idea how long I had been there. The cage was in a dark room and I could barely see anything. I was scared but I knew my father would find me. The first person that showed themselves to me was a man that called himself Rudy. He was an ugly old Russian man that barely spoke English.

There were others but I only saw them every once In a while. They would bring me food and change the bedpan I was given. I never got out of the cage. That was until Rudy wanted to play. I’ll never forget the first time he opened the cage. I moved back as far as I could. He came and unlocked the door and opened it. He then took a step back and had a seat in the chair he would sit in when he would come down just to watch me. He was built like a truck and even though I had training in fighting. I was still no match for him. I learned that the hard way.

I sat there for only a moment and then I got up and moved outside of the door to my cage. My eyes stayed on Rudy’s. I wasn’t sure what he was up to. I only took a few steps when I turned and ran. Rudy was on me in a flash. I fought him with everything I had. I even broke his nose, but all that did me no good as Rudy slammed me to the ground. The air was knocked out of me and my head was spinning from smacking the ground. I had only wished that I had been knocked out. The chase and the fight only turned Rudy on even more. I felt and knew everything that was happening to me.

Rudy picked me up off the ground and bent me over a small table. I tried to fight, really I did, but he was too strong for me. He lifted up my nightgown and took all my innocence away. He was rough and dirty. I closed my eyes and took myself out of the room every time this happened. I would place myself safe in my home with my family. Even though the tears always fell quietly from my eyes. I would smile at the thought of my mother, father, and brother. Smiling and laughing together.

This was my life for a year. I lived in that cage and never got out unless Rudy was there to see me. Which happened at least twice a week. I lost myself in that cage. All I wanted was death. My family never came for me and still, I never blamed them. I just missed them. Then a miracle happened. I woke up to the sounds of gunshots and extremely loud bangs. I was yelling out as loud as I could, but I was alone and my walls were stone all around me. I knew no one could hear me. I had no idea what was going on. I had only hoped someone would find me and maybe kill me. Then my nightmares would be over.

Instead, two men found me. Of course, I was scared out of my mind as they broke into my cage and grabbed me. I remember screaming and begging for them to just kill me. The larger of the two men. Told me he was there to help and that I needed to calm down. He ran with me and that’s when Rudy jumped in front of us. I screamed out as the man holding me shot Rudy between the eyes. I watched as Rudy’s body fell lifeless to the ground. That’s when I passed out.

I woke up in a huge bed and I had an IV in my arm. I was in a large bedroom and I could see the sun shining in on me. I looked to my left and an older man was asleep in a chair against the wall. He opened his eyes and fear hit me hard. “Don’t be afraid Anna please.” He stood up and I was ready to run. “I’m family, I won’t hurt you. Please hear me out.” I remember thinking I had nowhere to go. I had no idea where I even was. I sat still and let him talk. Turns out he was my uncle Cane. Over the next year, I had learned who I was and where I had come from. I was given so much proof that I had no choice but to believe everything my uncle told me.

I was shower emails between Ryder and Rudy. Proof that Ryder Dankworth had me taken from my bed that night. Proof that he wanted me gone. I was nothing but a thorn in his side. I wasn’t his daughter and he wanted my mother and brother all to himself. I fought it for a long time. Even with the proof I still held on to hope. Ryder had always treated me like I belonged to him. He was my daddy. The light in my eyes. My hero and protector, but as time went on and I was given more proof of who I really was. I gave in and knew what I was being told was the truth. I had pictures of my mother and real father Draco. She looked happy in the pictures. I had photos of her and my father’s wedding. There were also tons of pictures of her pregnant with me and Draco happily holding onto my mother. I was blown away by the truth.

Ever since then, my uncle has done nothing but show me love and protection. I was warned that if Ryder knew I was alive. He would come and kill me himself. I was also told my father Draco wanted me named Elizabeth. I started to use that name and everyone calls me Izzy. I finished school online and graduated with honors. I wanted to be a writer and my uncle made it very clear that I would never want for anything. Has the years went by. I pretty much changed in order to stay hidden, but the one thing I held onto was the fact that I would never go near the Dankworths ever again.

“You hear me talking to you Izzy?” Sebastian said as I felt him touch my shoulder. I looked up at him. Every now and then. I would still get sad thinking about them. I don’t know why, but I missed them. At least the them I thought they were. I nodded at him and he pulled me into his arms. Sebastian knew everything and he knew how I felt at times. “How can I put a smile on your face? You have your dress fitting today.” I looked up at him and smiled. “There’s that beautiful smile I love so much.” His lips met mine and I wrapped my arms around him.

“You know I love you right?” I said softly.

“Of course I do, and I love you. Don’t forget our wedding party is tomorrow night.” That made my smile even bigger.

“What would I do without you?” Sebastian shrugged his shoulders.

“Probably be a sad shell of yourself. Looking all over the world for me.” I giggled and punched at him. “Now move your sexy ass in the shower. Your girls will be waiting for you to go to town.” I kissed his nose and his lips and he smacked my ass as I took off towards the bathroom. An hour later I was in the dress shop. Standing in the mirrors in my wedding dress. I had tears in my eyes. I looked like a beautiful princess. My choice was over the top, but I loved it. I did small twirls in the mirror just to see the dress glitter. The dress shop owner made the necessary last-minute sizes. My dress would be ready for me the day before the wedding. I grabbed my couple of bags and me and my friends headed down the block for lunch. We decided since the rain stopped that we would eat outside.

I was lost in conversation when someone caught my eye. A man was standing in the crowd of people. He wasn’t looking my way, but you could tell he was scanning the crowd. Something about him caught my eye. I watched him and he was moving further away from us. He looked so familiar. Then a man and a woman joined his side and my heart started to race. There were no denying Aurora’s bouncing curls. Fuck, I said to myself. They have found me.
