Chapter 15

Several days of teaching Briar many lessons and satisfying my undying thirst and hunger to eat her up, I walked into the club to find Lucifer and Rayna lounging in a booth. They both looked up when they saw me. Lucifer was more of a brother to me than my very own which was why he and I created this club. We shared many things in life and learned that both of us didn’t come from perfect families.

When Lucifer found Rayna, she was the first that he wouldn’t share. Right then and there I knew that she was going to be something more in his life. I’ll be damned to say that I now understand that feeling. The thought of Lucifer touching Briar turned me into a wild animal that was ready to tear up somebody.

They both wore knowing looks as if they knew where I had been for the last couple of days. I had to admit, I have been neglecting my business and spending more time making Briar submit underneath me. Do I regret it? Hell no.

Slipping my hands into my jean pockets, I walked over to where they were sitting.

“What are you two doing here?” I asked.

“It has been difficult to get a hold of you for the past couple of days, my friend.” Lucifer grinned.

He hasn’t been able to a get hold of me because I have been spending most of my time at Briar’s home which to me was completely out of the norm. Briar didn’t seem to mind. I will pick her up from work and we will go out to eat. The other night, I took her out to the movies. We spent most of our nights watching TV shows reruns and in bed.

An image of Briar naked and flushed with sexual arousal in my bed got me hard again. Suddenly, I had the sudden urge to run back out of the club and find her. I know the thought was ludicrous. I sounded like a puppy chasing after a good chew toy happily with my tails wagging in the air.

“How is Briar doing?” Rayna asked.

“Great,” I replied simply. More than great too if you really wanted to know. She was still sleeping soundly in bed when I left her this morning.

Her eyes narrowed, “Chase, she’s innocent. I don’t know what you are doing but this isn’t normal. You aren’t acting normal. Do you like her?”

I shrugged, “I like her.”

“What happens when the contract ends?” She questioned.

I know where she was getting at. She wants to know what place does Briar have in my life. She must have realized I was going to respond to her because she continued.

“I don’t want to see her get hurt. She’s innocent, Chase.”

“She’s not so innocent.” I almost snapped back, feeling irritation growing inside of me. I felt almost like a cornered animal.

“That’s not what I am saying. She doesn’t know this life.”

“She knew what she was getting into the minute she walked into the club. Trust me. She is not that innocent.” Rayna was making me out to be like a bloodthirsty demon who wanted to defile the virgin.

You kind of are. My subconscious retaliated.

“Chill, Chase. Rayna just wants to make sure that both you and Briar are on the same page. Is this contract like every other contract? No feelings involved?” Lucifer moved to defend Rayna. His eyes warning me to take it down a notch.

“You know me. I don’t roll that way. There are no feelings involved.” I replied but uneasiness sets in my chest.

“So, when the contract ends you’re willing to let her go?” Rayna persisted.

“Yes,” I responded, the uneasiness spread further.

“That’s good.” Lucifer nodded.

“How’s that good?” I turned to narrow my eyes on him.

He chuckled a little, “I was a little worried. Some Doms here had expressed interest in him-”

"They aren’t touching her,” I growled out my answer. The anger inside of me flaming into dangerous heights.

Rayna sighed and rolled her eyes, “You aren’t letting her go any time soon. Stop kidding yourself.”

“What’s it to you if I do or if I don’t?” I turned to glare at Rayna.

“Nothing. I just think you should come to terms with what you are feeling. You obviously have feelings for Briar. Otherwise, you wouldn’t react that way.” Rayna pointed out.

“And you don’t get jealous, buddy,” Lucifer commented.

“Mind your own business,” I muttered before turning away from them, wanting this conversation to end now. I walked towards my office but heard Lucifer called out my name. I turned around to see him walking towards me, Rayna behind sitting in the booth.

“We have been brothers for a long time,” Lucifer said once he reached my side. “So, I am going to tell you something.”

He placed a brotherly hand onto my shoulder and squeezed it to ensure me that he meant good. Clenching my teeth, I turned to look at him. The corner of his lip lifted and his blue eyes shined with a knowing look.

“You’re possessive of her. You can’t stand the thought of another man touching her except you. She’s different not like the other girls you have been with. She makes you work for it and you enjoy doing it just to see her satisfied.” Lucifer spoke and every damn word was fvcking true.

“It’s just feels. It will pass once her and I are done- ”

“Stop fvcking with yourself and come to terms with the fact that you will never let her go.” Lucifer interrupted.

“How would you know if I won’t or will?”

“Because I was the same way with Rayna. Fvck, the woman in the booth behind me got me so whipped around her finger, I’m fvcking dizzy. Yet, I can’t stop making her happy. All I want to do is make her happy.” Lucifer glanced behind me towards Rayna. “All I am saying is, this is not familiar territory for you. Know what you are getting yourself into and if you want it, go for it. If you don’t, let her go before it’s too late and one of you gets hurt.”

Lucifer and Rayna left shortly after that, leaving me to mull over everything. I hate to admit it but Lucifer was right. This is not familiar territory for me.

I continued to work in my office for more than half of the day. It was late and the bar was in full swing. The club music was loud and thumping against my door.

Glancing at the clock and it was past nine. I wondered if Briar expected me to be at her home tonight. I wondered if I should go and see her. A strong part of me craved to have her in my arms again but I couldn’t stop Lucifer’s words.

What was I really getting myself into and was I ready?

I ached for her and my body was already humming with a desire to be inside of her. I wanted to taste her and hear her cries in her pitches of pleasure.

A knock at my door distracted me from whatever I was doing, “Come in.”

The door swung open and Graciela walked into my office. Her long black hair tied up into a ponytail, like a good little submissive. She had a raincoat on and I knew exactly was underneath that raincoat.

Graciela was one of my former submissive. We broke it off shortly after she became addicted to me. Showed at my workplace every damn day. She began to demand more attention and believed she deserved rights I never gave her.

To me, submissive is submissive. They are nothing more. I give them what they need and they do the same for me but Graciela had other ideas.

She played with the opening of her raincoat. Her eyes fluttering seductively.

“You look tense and stress. I know exactly what you need, Chase. I know you.” She began to unbutton the top of her raincoat.

“Stop,” I ordered.

She hesitated, her eyes flickering between uncertainty. A part of her wants to submit and do as I ordered but another part of her wanted to see what I would do if she disobeyed.

She released the button, exposing her breasts and chocolate flawless skin.

“You really don’t want me to stop.” She whispered huskily.

I closed my eyes and felt an incoming headache.

“Gracie, when I ended things, I meant it.” I nearly snapped.

I heard movements and seconds later she was in front of me, pushing my office chair back with her feet that were propped on either side of me. Her legs spread open.

I stood up abruptly. “Damn it, Gracie. Get the hell out.”

“No.” She locked her legs around me so quickly, I stumbled closer to her. Her eyes glimmered with renewing determination when she felt the apparent hard on I was housing for previously thinking about Briar.

“See, I knew you wanted me.” She moaned and her hands moved to lift my shirt.

I grabbed onto her hands and pushed them away. Her legs loosened and I took a step back out of her trap.

“I don’t want you. What we had was a mutual thing. It was business. I’m sorry you got it into your head that you were something more but I never meant to hurt you in any way. I am sorry, Gracie, but what you have for me, I don’t have for you.” I walked away around my desk to leave.

“Chase!” She screeched. “Chase! Don’t dare walk out on me!”

I hurried to the door, walking out into the excited club that was completely unaware of what was happening in my office. Gracie wrapped her arms around my waist and pressed her face into my back.

“Stop! Please! Don’t do this!” She said desperately. I unwrapped her arms around my waist and turned to really look at her.

She looked insane. Her eyes were wide with desperation and seeping with tears. Gracie and I were only together for a few months.

“You need help, Gracie. I mean it in a good way. This is not healthy. You know exactly how I felt.”

“Yes! You love me!” She cried out.

“No, I don’t,” I responded calmly. “Please, think thoroughly what you are doing. This isn’t normal. I am sorry that you had felt things I didn’t. Therefore, I stopped it before it could become even more than what it wasn’t.”

“I can do whatever you want. If you want me to stop feeling. I will stop.” She was sputtering everything to keep me next to her but that wasn’t what I meant.

“No, you should find someone who is perfect for you. I am not perfect. I am not the right man for you.”

“How can you be so cruel?” She cried. “You loved me. You held me to sleep. You whispered sweet words to me every night. You took me out to eat and we travel- ”

“You’re imagining things, Gracie. We never did any of that. You and I had always met in this club, never outside.” I explained. “Please seek some help.”

I pushed her away from me before quickening my steps and leaving the premises. I can hear her screaming my name before my bodyguards at the club came to stop her.

I got on my bike and roared out of the parking lot. I didn’t know where I was going until I arrived at my location. Turning off the ignition, I stuffed my keys into my pocket and walked up toward Briar’s home.

It was past ten. I wondered if she was still awake. I stood outside her porch for a good five minutes before the door opened and she stood there staring at me, dressed in a pink tank top and purple heart jammie shorts that barely covered her lovingly curvy ass.

“It’s past nine.” Was the first thing she said. I can hear the annoyance in her voice.

“I know.”

“Then you know, you aren’t getting inside.” She snapped and was about to close the door. In a desperate attempt to get in, my hand shot out to stop the door from fully closing.

“I’m sorry. I got held up at work.” I apologized. “Let me in, baby girl.”

“I’m not in the mood.” She was pouting and god damn it I wanted to kiss it right off.

“You waited up for me.”

“No.” She retorted.

“Don’t lie. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have known I was standing outside your door.” I pointed out smugly.

“You’re an asshole.” She released the door and I stepped inside before closing it and pushing the lock in place. When I turned to face her, she had her arms wrapped underneath her chest, giving me a nice beautiful view of her mounds.

“I’m sorry, baby girl. I’ll make it up to you.” I whispered huskily before hastily pulling her into my arms and kissing the crap out of her.

The moment my lips touched hers and her soft curvy body pressed against mine, I felt relief and...happiness.
