Chapter 5

I could tell Gloria’s legs were getting tired from bouncing on Derick’s lap. She was just about finished when the both the front and back doors burst open. The light from several flashlights swirled around the room, until someone flipped the light switch on. The bright kitchen lights momentarily blinded us. There were the three of us in all of our naked glory, surrounded by several police officers, all with their guns drawn.

“What the hell are you doing in here?” the Lieutenant asked, rather gruffly.

Neither of the other two said anything, so I spoke up. “What does it look like?”

“Don’t be a smart ass. Anybody else in the house?”

Gloria shook her head and nervously replied, “No.”

I just looked at her. “What about the kids?”

Then I turned to the Lieutenant and said, “She’s babysitting for the Coopers. The kids are upstairs in bed.”

The Lieutenant shined the flashlight right into my eyes, “The Coopers are in Florida. There are no kids. The neighbors called us because they saw lights on. Nobody is supposed to be here. I’m placing you all under arrest for trespassing, and breaking and entering. Put some clothes on, you’re going down to the station.”

My future was passing before my eyes. If I got arrested, my scholarship would disappear, my internship would vanish, and worst of all…my mother would be PISSED.

“Gloria,” I yelled rather hysterically, “what the fuck?”

“Come on Steve, didn’t you have fun?” She said with a twinkle in her eyes and that godforsaken smirk on her face.

Derick stumbled trying to pull his pants up and fell against the sink. “Steve, old buddy,” he slurred, “are they arresting us for having a threesome?”

“Shut up Derick.”

“I’m sorry, Stevie, but I think I liked it.”
