I Shall March

By Richard Glover

Other

I Shall March

Originally written in 2007.

----

Silence, silence in the dark.

Forever I am slumbering,

For the day that I shall march.

Whispers, whispers in my dreams,

Telling me to awaken,

For it is soon that I shall march.

From my house, my tomb I rise,

To follow the will of my queens,

To my duty, I shall march.

I rise; I rise to the sun,

Forever shining above,

To light the path I shall march.

Destroy the mountains, the trees,

Cleanse the land and make it flat.

With my orders, I shall march.

But there are those who resist,

Those who are called Matoran.

They try to dissuade my march.

We fight their heroes, their Toa,

We fight to the last one.

We fight to maintain our march.

But they have found our weakness,

Yet I must still serve my queens,

So to my doom, I shall march.

Crippled, defeated, I wait,

To be revived by the Va.

I wait to resume my march.

Our queens have been defeated.

We are now mindless slaves

For those whom against we marched.

To fix that which we broke,

To redo what we undid,

To repair things, I shall march.

Our queens saviors, the Kal!

The Kal have now arisen!

To free us so we may march.

We are returned to our tombs,

To wait in the dark and sleep,

For the day that we shall march.

I cannot questions my queens.

I will not question my queens.

So to the void, I shall march.

Forever in sleep, I wait.

I wait for when I shall rise.

For when I shall march again.

Mary Abigail: I have always been a serious reader but reading romance has always been an outlet for me to be happy and this, makes me happy. It's entertaining with just enough drama and maybe a bit more - I do need more.

ngonisiga: I am at loss for words in my attempt to descibe the sublimeness of this story. Kudos to you! I am so impressed at the way the story weaves itself from Navarre to England and back and finally to Sicily. You left me wanting more for this is the stuff dreams are made of in book lovers.

sujitha nair: What's so distinct about this story was that it could easily be real.Praveena can be your classmate, neighbor or that girl you saw at the coffee shop today. The important decisions she makes and the dilemmas she faces, remind us of our own twisted lives.

Patrick Johns: The Prince was an exciting read. I enjoyed the spoiled bratty protagonist and his drastic change through out the story. The world building was well though out and clear. The author did a great job painting a picture for the reader without having a map. I liked the connection to real life leaders....

Avell Kro: I've only just started reading this, but I can see that this writer really knows her stuff. Her theme is painful and traumatic, and her sense of place is deep and strong. Being originally from Yorkshire myself the story resonates with me personally, but this is good writing. I look forward to com...

Colin Milroy: To begin, I don't think that the first review of this story was fair at all. Based on the popularity of this story, I would say the one-star review hasn't done much harm, but I still felt the need to address it.
