Chapter 1

August 17th, 2017 - 1:34pm

“Well you want your family safe don’t you?” he looked at her with those chocolate-hazel eyes. She had no idea what laid behind them. All she knew was that her eyes held the only thing she felt- fear.

“I accept your offer,” she signed the document in stark black ink. She had no idea what she had gotten herself into. She not only signed her hand in marriage but her life. She now belonged to him…

10:45 am

*Buzz Buzz* *Buzz Buzz* Buzz Buz-*

She looked down at her phone to see a number that wasn’t familiar to her.

“Hello, this is Bae Ju Ye, may I know who I am speaking to,” Bae Ju Ye cleared her throat.

“My name is Park Jimin, I own the-”

“Yes, I’m aware of who you are. May I ask why you are calling,” she rubbed her eyes and silently yawned.

“I’m sorry to disturb you from you sleep Ms. White, but it seems as if I have a problem here with your father, Yu Han White, and his financials,” he spoke very clearly like he had said this a million time more.

Ju Ye rolled out of bed, “No, no, all is perfect,” she stepped into the bathroom.

“I see, but it isn’t on my end,” Jimin stated coldly.

“You said there was a problem with my father’s financial. Is there a way I can schedule a meeting with you or your time?” she took her hair out of her ponytail and turned on the sink water.

“1:30 today is the earliest I have open. Will you be able to meet me then?”

“Yes,” she sighed, “Should I bring my checkbook?”

“I don’t know, it’s up to you, but I’m sure there is another way besides money or items with monetary value to clear this up,” Jimin chuckled as Ju Ye raised her eyebrow.

“What do you-” she heard the line click off.

Ju Ye sat there in disbelief for a second. What did he mean by another way besides money to settle her father? He was a gambler. He took out loans. Park Jimin needed money to replace the money that given to her father.

She was confused and not at all looking forward to this meeting, but Jimin, on the other hand, was as happy as could be.

He called his secretary.

“What can I do you Mr. Park,” what would have been a seductive voice to some, was a normals voice for Jimin.

“I need the files for Yu Han and Bae Ju Ye.”

“And what about the wife?”

“Did I say I needed her file?”

“No sir,”

“Then get me the files on Yu Han and Bae Ju Ye,” he growled.

“Yes sir, anything else?”

“Have the wife taken to paradise.”

“Right away,” She clicked off and Jimin smiled to himself

He sat in his office for another thirty minutes before being handed his requested item. He was pleased to see that Ju Ye’s was quite thick.

He sat it down and waited for what would seem like very 3 short hours.

“Sir, Bae Ju Ye is here to see you,” the secretary did not seem pleased.

“Send her up,” he smirked.

Five minutes later, Ju Ye walked in with only simple business wear on. She had on black slacks, flats, and a cream button down tucked into her pants.

“Hello Mr. Park,” Ju Ye said as she tried to keep her cool.

¨Hello Ms. White,¨ He smiled.

¨Letś get this over with. I´ve sat through too many meeting on my father’s behalf to know what will happen.¨

¨Oh have you now?¨

¨Yes, and I don’t appreciate your taunting tone. I also have a business to run and you are taking out of my time..¨

¨I’m sure that you’re underestimating the severity of the situation.”

“No, I think you’re mistaken. My father simply took out at most a grand and -”

“How about a million.”

Ju Ye froze up., “A million,” she touched her lips as she believed those words did not just roll off her lips.

“Yes and I believe that I was given your-” he began shifting throwing a file., “All four of your coffee shops.”

“My-” Her lips quivered.

“Ah, but you don’t have enough net worth. They only pay close to half of what your-”

“You took my businesses! You have no right to do-”

“I have every right to do so. Your father was the sole owner of them before you were and nicely signed them over to me late last night.”

“He- I.” She swallowed a lump in her throat.

“Now all you owe me is-”

“I don’t want to hear it.”

Jimin nodded and wrote it on a sheet of paper. Ju Ye almost vomited.

“Can I pay in-”

“No, it’s all or nothing..”

“I don’t have- This is-” she placed her head in her hands and took a deep breath.

“You already took my livelihood, what else do you want?”

Jimin chuckled darkly, “You’re hand in marriage.”

Ju Ye started to laugh lightly, “This all has to be some type of joke.”

“Oh no dear, this is all very real and your father has landed you in this position.”

Ju Ye looked up with steaming rage. He couldn’t do this. He couldn’t just take away everything she worked so hard for. But he did and with no emotion.

He was the very definition of evil. Everything he embodies was evil.

“You’ve been speechless this whole conversation and its only been good,” he checked his watch. “Four minutes.”

“This is wrong. This is so wrong,” She shook her head and stood up.

“Everything I do is wrong, but in the right way,” he slid a paper from under the file and slid it to the side she was sitting on.

“What is that?”

“Our agreement, you marry me, you get whatever profits you make from you little franchise and your family is safe.”

“Safe? Why wouldn’t they be safe?”

“You’re so precious you know. You innocent to the world around you.”

Ju Ye rolled her eyes, “ And you’re just a millionaire-”

“Billionaire,” he corrected.

“Look, you’re some rich son of a bitch and you are asking for my hand in marriage. I don’t know you and to be quite honest, I wouldn’t want to.”

“Why not?” He leaned against the desk,”This would be to save your family.”

“You keep saying that but I’m wondering what you mean?” Suddenly, a tv appeared from behind a painting. She gagged, “Momma.”

She watched as her mother thrashed around in a cold cell. She shouted and screamed, but Ju Ye couldn’t hear them. It made watching more painful. She knew her mother was claustrophobic.

“Let her go!” Ju Ye yelled.

“Not until you sign that paper my dear.”

“You’re insane!”

“No, just a businessman.”

Ju Ye began to silently cry. Streams of tears poured down her cheek., “You’re a monster.”

“So I’ve been told.”

Her body was shaking, she was in a new state of shock. Her anxiety became apparent and she could feel everything around her.

“This will just be a marriage right?” Ju Ye was quietly.

“You shall fulfill your wifely duties to any extent necessary. Your business is mine, but most profits will be yours.”

“My family?”

“Depends,” he shrugged.

“What do you mean depends.”

She not only signed over her hand in marriage but her life. She now belonged to him.
