Of UNO and Thunderstorms

Chapter Forty Nine

Olympia's POV

It took a little while, but eventually word got around that the rightful King of Gondor had returned and was to be crowned. Lord Celeborn, Lady Galadriel and a few of their warriors showed up a few days later. I recognized Haldir among them. Lord Elrond, Lord Erestor, Lord Glorfindel, Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen all showed up as well later that same day. Anyone who would have come from Rohan was already in Gondor, so no one else came from there.

Legolas, Natalie, Kate and I were walking around with Elladan and Elrohir, who Legolas had introduced us to. Evidently, he and Lord Elrond's twin sons were good friends. We were talking and laughing about stories we told from our journey. Elladan and Elrohir got a particularly good laugh out of the Caradhras snowball fight story. Suddenly, one of the healers we'd seen when Kate, Natalie and I had visited Francesca came over and stopped us.

"Pardon me, but one of the Halflings has awakened." She told us. I stopped in my tracks. Who's awake? I thought.

"Who?" Kate asked, voicing my thought.

"She introduced herself as Francesca Adams, and requested that I find three women by the names of Kate, Natalie and Olympia. I remembered you three coming in to see her and figured she meant you. If you'd please come with me, I believe your friend would be very happy to see you." the healer told us. Natalie, Kate and I said hurried good-byes to Legolas, Elladan and Elrohir and left with the healer.

She led us back to the Houses of Healing and to the room we'd seen Francesca in. Francesca was indeed awake, and she was sitting on the bed. Said bed looked way too big for her. We immediately rushed over and wrapped our hobbit friend up in a hug.

"I missed you so much." I whispered to her. Kate and Natalie mumbled their agreement.

"I missed you too. What happened while I was out?" Francesca asked. Kate, Natalie and I sat on Francesca's bed after we eventually let her go.

"While you were unconscious here or while you were away in general?" Natalie replied.

"Yes." Francesca smiled. We laughed.

"Okay. Well, Natalie went to Isengard with Merry and Pippin, Kate and I went to Rohan, I fell off a cliff and almost died, Gimli threatened to kill me when I got back, I made a friend at Helm's Deep, Natalie told Eowyn and Merry the story of Mulan, we partied when we got back from Helm's Deep, Natalie danced the 'Cotton Eye Joe' on a table while drunk at that party, and then all we really did was kill stuff." I summarized.

"Nice. Gollum almost killed all three of us at least once, I sort of teased Sam about Rosie, I thought about killing Gollum several times, I hacked off a giant spider's leg and I simply walked into Mordor." Francesca told us. The three of us laughed again.

"Olympia left out one of the most important things to happen while you were gone." Kate stated once we got our breath back. I glared at my sister and face-palmed.

"Oh really? What's that?" Francesca asked, grinning. Kate smiled broadly.

"Mm-hmm. She forgot to mention that she and Legolas finally admitted to being in love and that they're a thing now." Kate said, smirking. I Gibbs slapped my sister.

"Ooh. It was about damn time! Have you kissed yet?" Francesca asked, obviously enjoying tormenting me.

"Oh yeah! At the party in Rohan after Helm's Deep, Kate and I caught them making out on one of the balconies outside the Golden Hall." Natalie replied. I blushed furiously.

"Only after you sobered up. And we were not making out!" I retorted. Kate, Francesca and Natalie all burst out laughing.

"Yes, you were. You so were." Kate told me, looking slightly sympathetic. I stuck my tongue out at all of them.

"You want to know what the best part is?" Natalie asked Francesca.

"What's that?" Francesca asked, still laughing.

"Don't." I warned, figuring out what Natalie was going to say.

"Why not?" Natalie asked.

"Because I'm freaking out about that!" I exclaimed.

"What are you freaking out about?" Francesca asked, concerned now. I bit my lip.

"The fact that King Thranduil is probably going to be showing up for Aragorn's coronation." Natalie answered.

"Who's that?" Francesca asked.

"Legolas's father." I told her. Francesca nodded and pulled a face.

"I get why you're freaking out now." She muttered.

"Thanks. That's helpful." I replied. Francesca leaned over and Gibbs slapped me.

"You don't need to be freaking out. He's not going to hate you." Kate said for what seemed like the five hundredth time since Legolas had told us his father was most likely coming. Natalie and Francesca nodded in agreement.

"Even Gimli said he wasn't going to hate you. And that's saying something." Natalie encouraged me. I nodded.

"By the way, Lord Elrond, Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir, Lord Erestor, Lord Glorfindel, Lady Galadriel, Lord Celeborn, Haldir and Haldir's two brothers are here." Kate told Francesca.

"Haldir has brothers?" she asked.

"Yes. Their names are Rúmil and Orophin. We haven't met them yet, but they were in the books." I replied. Francesca nodded and Natalie rolled her eyes.

"Wait…did you say Lord Eyebrows is here?" Francesca asked. We all laughed hysterically at the mention of the nickname Francesca had come up with for Lord Elrond while watching the movies for the first time.

"Yes. Well, since you're awake, let's go adventuring!" Natalie exclaimed, pulling Francesca up.

"Alright, Germany! Let's go!" Francesca replied. Wow…I haven't heard those nicknames in a long time. I mused. So the four of us got up and left the Houses of Healing. We dragged Francesca through Gondor, introducing her to Eowyn, Faramir, Cellyn, and anyone else we came across.

"Aragorn!" All of us shouted when we caught sight of the soon-to-be king. Aragorn looked over and smiled broadly at us. We rushed over to him.

"It is good to see you, my friends." Aragorn told us.

"It's good to actually see you too. We know you've been really busy since we got back, but Francesca woke up! So….yeah." I told him.

"Hi Aragorn! It's been a long time." Francesca smiled.

"Indeed it has. I am happy to see you, Sam and Frodo safe, even happier to see you awake." Aragorn laughed slightly. We talked with Aragorn for a while. Kate laughed triumphantly when even Aragorn told me not to freak out about meeting King Thranduil. I glared at her.

"It is Legolas's younger brother Veryan you should worry about. He will likely tease you relentlessly." Aragorn told me while we were on the subject.

"Great!" I said sarcastically. Aragorn chuckled. "I guess I'll live through the teasing. I mean, I've lived with these three all my life." I stated, nudging my friends and sister. Aragorn nodded and the aforementioned friends and sister looked slightly offended.

Sam woke up later that day and was promptly tackle-hugged by Kate, Natalie, Francesca and I. He too wanted to know how we had been and unlike Francesca, didn't tease me when I told him about me and Legolas.

"Congratulations, Miss Olympia." Sam had said, smiling.

"I think you're the first one who hasn't teased us yet." I mused. Sam laughed a little and gave Kate, Francesca and Natalie questioning looks.

"Oh yeah, we teased her. I'm her sister and they're her best friends, it's our job." Kate replied.

Soon after that, we all went to dinner. Sam and Francesca were welcomed back to the land of the living by everyone else at dinner that night. All of us were also properly introduced to everyone we didn't know. Aragorn took it upon himself to make sure Kate, Francesca, Natalie and I were properly introduced to people like Lord Elrond, Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir, Lord Glorfindel, and Lord Erestor.

After dinner, Haldir came over to where we'd been sitting and borrowed us. He led us to where two other platinum blonde Elves were. They looked at us with confused expressions. Haldir said something to them in elvish and they talked for a few minutes. I only really caught Haldir saying our names and gesturing to me a few times. He then turned back to us.

"Ladies Natalie, Kate, Francesca and Olympia, I wish to introduce my brothers Rúmil and Orophin. Unfortunately, they do not speak Westron very well." Haldir stated, gesturing to Rúmil and Orophin. He then turned to me. "They are, however, grateful that you saved my life at Helm's Deep, Lady Olympia." Haldir added. I nodded and didn't bother to correct him on the whole 'Lady' thing.

Haldir translated for us as we talked with Rúmil and Orophin for a while. The brothers all looked very much alike. However, Rúmil was taller than both Haldir and Orophin and where Haldir and Rúmil's eyes were grey, Orophin's were blue. They all had similar facial features.

The next day, I woke up to someone shaking my shoulders and calling my name. I groaned and opened my eyes to see Kate with a huge ass grin on her face. This means one of two things; either King Thranduil is here and Kate wants to torture me or Frodo is awake. I thought.

"Wake up and get dressed, Frodo's up!" Kate exclaimed. I rolled my eyes at her and got out of bed. Kate shoved a dress at me and I raised an eyebrow. At least the dress wasn't an overly girly color; it was a light green and had a silver colored belt. Simple. Thank God! I thought.

"You're going to have to get used to it." Kate said in response to my look. I pulled a face and quickly changed. Afterwards, we met up with Natalie, Francesca, Legolas, Aragorn, Sam and Gimli, Merry and Pippin. Merry and Pippin bolted ahead and when we got there, we got a glimpse of Merry and Pippin jumping onto Frodo's bed, laughing.

Gimli walked in soon after the hobbits and all we could hear outside the room was the sound of everyone's laughter. Legolas, Aragorn, Natalie, Kate, Francesca, Sam and I all walked in one by one and stood around Frodo's bed. I could've sworn I saw Gimli wiping away a tear. I leaned forward and raised an eyebrow at him, mouthing 'I saw that.' Gimli shook his head.

"It's good to see you blinking and breathing Frodo." Natalie stated and she, Kate, Francesca and I all went over and hugged Frodo.

"My dear friends! It is good to see you too!" Frodo laughed and tried to hug all four of us at once. We laughed and backed off so Frodo could breathe.

All of us spent a long time in Frodo's room, catching up and laughing together. One of the favorite topics was, of course, Legolas and I. Frodo had laughed lightly and congratulated us when he first found out. Both Legolas and I blushed furiously and thanked him.

"Does anyone else know about that thing we told Francesca about in Rohan?" Natalie asked out loud. Legolas and I glared at her. She just loves embarrassing me, doesn't she? I thought, still glaring at my friend.

"What thing, lassie?" Gimli asked. Kate grinned. I shook my head.

"During the party we had in Rohan after the Battle of Helm's Deep, after you passed out, Natalie and I went outside for some air and caught these two kissing." Kate answered. Gimli, Merry and Pippin all started laughing. Natalie bit back her own laughter, having brought up the same embarrassing moment twice in a twenty-four hour period and probably not wanting to get in even more trouble. Kate grinned, Aragorn rolled his eyes and smiled at us and Gandalf chuckled.

"Thanks for bringing that up again guys." I said sarcastically. I'll remember it when Francesca and I are plotting to prank you….I thought, smirking internally.

Eventually, after lots of catching up, we all got up and did other things. Sam, Frodo, Merry and Pippin all went off somewhere together, Aragorn and Gandalf still had tons of stuff to do, Natalie and Kate went to go hang out with Eowyn and Faramir, and Legolas, Francesca and I went walking around.

"Francesca, do you remember the last April Fools' Day in our world when Kate and Natalie pranked us all day? You know, baby powder in hair dryers, exploding soda cans and food dye in all the soap?" I asked. Legolas raised an eyebrow at me.

"Ugh, don't remind me. I've been meaning to ask you when we're going to plot revenge for that." Francesca replied. I laughed and Legolas rolled his eyes and smiled.

"You are going to get back at them for bringing up the time they caught us kissing in Rohan, are you not?" Legolas asked.

"That's exactly what we're going to do. Besides, my hands were blue for almost a week after that last prank." Francesca answered. All three of us laughed and continued walking around aimlessly.

Author's note: Impending prank war! Muahahaha! Anyway, this was sort of a filler chapter… and an excuse for everyone else to rag on Legolas and Olympia, apparently…Freakin muses…Thranduil's appearance is in the next chapter I swear! READ AND REVIEW PLEASE!
