Chapter 17: Reasons
Ron was shocked, Hermione was angry and everybody … well everybody else were rather amused at the audacity of the Red headed fool. It was the first time she was able to speak to him in a very dangerous tone without feeling any rebuke of her attitude.
-'Mi- Mione, calm down … please'- Ron added the extra please in hopes that it would do something … anything. His hands rose up in a submissive move, his teeth slightly chattering as the colour totally drained from his face.
-'ME? WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME WHO HAS TO CALM DOWN? YOU STARTED EVERYTHING! YOU AND YOUR STUPID MOUTH, you know… now that I think about it ALL OF THIS IS YOUR MOUTH'S FAULT! YOU TALK WITHOUT THINKING … AND YOU SAY THINGS COMPLETELY OUT OF PLACE WITH NO DECORUM WHAT SO EVER, AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEING ME WHO HAS TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES FROM YOUR STUPID CHILDISH BEHAVIOUR; LIKE OUR ENGAGEMENT…'- Hermione's breathing, although still heavy, slowed down to a soft pant.
-'Oh! So all this is my fault is it?'- Ron spat out as he squared his shoulders in defiance. Draco whom was standing behind Hermione nearly charged at him. Harry held his hand up signalling for the Blonde Slytherin to hang on. He knew Hermione could more than hold her own against Ron. She had been doing it since their first days at Hogwarts together.
-'HOW YOU DARE TO ASK SUCH QUESTION TO ME! YOU WERE THE ONE THAT CHEATED ON ME! You… you… YOU WERE SEEING YOUR MISTRESS EVEN AT OUR ENGAGEMENT PARTY… AND IF I HADN'T CAUGHT YOU IN OUR APARTMENT KISSING AND NEARLY UNDRESSING YOURSELVES I WOULD HAVE BEEN "THE FOREVER CHEATED WIFE'- Hermione could feel her inner demon starting come unhinged one more word from the Red Lion and she was going to chew his throat out and eat it, her inner Sphinx lounged back on the red chaise with a glass of butter beer and popcorn enjoying the scene unfold.
-'Potter, did that really happened?'- Draco sneered as he stared at the Weasel.
-'Do you believe that Hermione is one of those who invent a scandal like that?'- Harry, not meaning to, snapped at Draco. He was not angry at Draco for asking; he too, was starting to feel slightly unhinged.
-'I know she's not and I was not implying she does … I was just wondering how for Morgana's sake is he still alive?'- Draco whispered with a slight shiver, knowing full well what his Lioness could do.
-'Hermione begged and begged me not to kill him, but … now I think about it, I think it was because she wanted to be the one that kills him. For everything he has done to her she deserves that much at least'- Harry whispered back to Malfoy.
They were just imaging how glorious the scared look on Ronald's face when an outrageously loud roar brought both Harry and Draco back to the reality.
-'HERMIONE PLEASE, IT WAS A MISTAKE!'- Ron turned around and sprinted back up to the school grounds, to scared to shift into a Lion, Ron did the only thing he could do: to plead for his life. A really pissed off Hermione had already grown the tail and the eyes of her sphinx form as her inner demon purred at her exhilarance.
-'Oh for Merlin's sake, what has he said now?'- Harry sighed in exasperation.
-'He said and implied that she is just a book-worm that will go with whomever proposes to her'- Ginny shouted over as she was helping Theo contain a certain white hippogriff.
But no one was ready in time to control an angered Chimera that, with one swift jump into the air started flying towards the already transformed Sphinx.
-'I know it's him but… I just don't get accustomed with their dangerous animagus forms'- Draco watched in awe as the King and Queen of the Animal kingdom put the red Lion in place. Draco watched calmly as an angry Hippogriff swung Theo onto her back as she charged in the middle of the commotion.
Once everything had resulted into a happy medium for all, Draco requested to see Harry alone In the Throne room. He stood in front of a king Harry, whom was drinking a glass of red wine, so red that Draco could swear it was blood, inwardly smirking he didn't in all honestly want to ask.
-'On this very important day of the battle of Order and the Army, you have asked for my presence... it must be very important for you to not have my sister on your arm.'- Harry's tongue grazed his top lip as to make sure none of his drink be lost.
Draco froze at the bluntness of his once enemy.
-'Well, y-you are aware that Hermione and I have been dating this whole year, and since you are her brother and only family I have to announce my intentions right to you'- Draco stuttered slightly as Harrys eyes changed from the Lion to his human form. It still didn't make it any easier knowing he could change in a split second.
-'I appreciate the gesture, continue'- Harry slouched side wards in his throne with his legs over one side and his lolled over the other. He began purring, he really was enjoying the situation, and watching Draco Malfoy all squeamish in front of him.
-'I want to ask your consent for Hermione's hand in Marriage, I want to know you approve of our betrothal'- Draco gulped as Harry's head bolted around to give him his full attention. Placing his glass down on the side table, Harry swung his legs over so he was sat fully within his throne. His eyes narrowed to the blonde as he began to plan his next chess move.
-'You heard that Mione … he only wants your hand… not all of you'- A devious smile crept along Harry's face at the sight of Malfoy going paler than normal.
-'What a shame… I would have given him all of me if only he asked'- Hermione sauntered in from the side door and sat on the side arm of Harry's throne, placing a big cut of meat in his lap.
-'H-Hermione? Y-you were supposed to be at Luna's place!'- Now Draco was scared, is that normal to be more scared of your partner than her killer brother? He knew he couldn't be angry at her even if he wanted to. Besides Harry was sat right in front of him and would most likely rip him limb from limb without even thinking.
-'Yeah … well … the good thing about Luna is that she is easy to please if we talk about decorations and such, so I finished early and decided to come here to visit my lovely brother'- Answered Hermione smiling.
-'And? Where is the cursed thing? OUCH! Ok, I mean lovely ring'- Harry rightly corrected after a playful punch from Hermione. Hermione gazed lovingly down at Draco in all his nervous glory, she knew he could protect and would. Hermione knew without a doubt he was the man for her.
-'So does that mean you agree?' – Asked hopefully Draco.
-'You think I could disagree with you when my fearful sister is next to me?'- Asked Harry winking at him. Hermione glared down at Harry before jumping down to stand in front of Draco, Harry close behind them.
-'You've got a point; here it is… it's from my Mother's side of the Family'- Draco produced a little black box.
-'Draco it is stunning'- Hermione's eyes began to fill up as she looked up lovingly into her beloveds eyes.
-'It's lovely, I like it because wearing it means Hermione has something related to Sirius'- Harry smiled down at the ring as Draco placed it on Hermione's left hand. He gazed up to the ceiling and smiled a teary smile. Today Sirius would be proud.
