Iron Beta: Life as Tony Stark's Daughter

By taycof

Action / Adventure

Chapter 1

Who will indeed lead the call for America?

Carry the flag shore to shore for America?

Who’s here to prove that we can?

The Star-Spangled Man with a Plan!

SMACK!

“Jarvis? Has Dad been messing with my alarm again? Because I was set to wake up to Black Sabbath, and that was not Black Sabbath.”

“Good morning Ms. Stark. I am not at liberty to divulge such information.” Did that AI just use sarcasm?

“Of course, Jarvis.” I sigh, then grumble “If anybody could make a sassy AI, it would be my dad, wouldn’t it?”

“You bet it would.” I glance up from my seat on my bed to see my father, the one and only Tony Stark, leaning against my doorframe.

“Nice song choice. Why that one? I swear Steve are purely platonic. If I had a crush on anyone on this team, it wouldn’t be Steve, it would be…” I snap my jaw shut before I let my not-yet-awake brain spill that particular secret.

“It would be…who? If not Stars-and-Stripes, then whom, dear daughter, owns your heart? It wouldn’t be, say, a certain hawk?”

Cue snort, eye roll, and slug to the shoulder,

“For the last time, dad, I don’t have a crush on anyone on the team. I’m only fifteen, you should really be happy about that.”

“But you just said-“

I cut him off with a firm “No. Blame it on lack of coffee. Now get out, I’m getting dressed, be down in a second.”

Once he leaves, I throw on a pair of black fuzzy sweats and an Iron Man t-shirt (what? You call it shameless advertising, I call it family pride) and make my way to the communal living/eating/lounging area, where I am greeted by the rest of my team and the smell of pancakes. My dad slides a plate in front of me while I grab a glass of orange juice.

“So who cooked breakfast? I need to know whether or not it’s edible.”

My dad manages to look mildly offended. “Ha, ha, Taylor. My cooking is not that bad.”

“Yes it is. Your last attempt at omelets had Natasha running for the bathroom, and she’s Russian. They have stomachs of freaking steel.”

This gets vague nods of agreement from the entire team, except for said red-haired assassin.

“We agreed never to speak of that. Just be quiet and eat your breakfast, both of you. Fury is coming by later, new evil aliens or robots or something might be on the horizon, apparently. He didn’t give many details.”

This bring groans from the rest of the table myself included.

“What does Eye patch want now? I mean, seriously, how many evil psychotic alien people are there out there? Do they have nothing better to do then try and take over the world?”

“Too many, and it looks like no. But Loki was only the start. He’s sort of like a Pied Piper now, because extraterrestrial psychopaths seem to be coming out of the woodwork.” Clint replies.

“There is no rest for heroes, I suppose.” I hop off my seat a set my dishes in the sink. “Although that seems highly overrated. Anyways, I’m off to the lab, my suit needs a few touchups if there is going to be a new invasion. You know where to find me.”

Girl on Fire: Great story, line Alex!!!It really has a edge on it. It put me on edge with its thrill. Can't wait to read the rest.!!!

Chris Rolfe: BOY!!! I sure love what Aer-Ki Jyr did with this series. IMHO he captured the essence of what stargate is all about. Thru out the Stargate stories Aer-Ki wrote Stevens and John Shepard some of the main characters in his stories are pursued by a corrupt I.O.A.. All the while Stevens is changing in...

FateFellShort: I have read this story and have followed the writers on tumblr from the beginning. Its a wonderful story. Beautifully written with a really nice pace, that makes it enjoyable to read more than once. For me, fairy tail has very good characters but what the writers have done is give them more depth...

cassandrab: Delightful SciFi (for a change)! I am not a SciFi fan: mostly the genre is far too dystopic for me. This book (written by a high-school friend) is, on the other hand, generally upbeat. Yes, Earth's future is threatened. But Earth has a chance to plan a response. And (spoiler alert) ultimately win...

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

kathryncoard: I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced book, that kept me interested . Yes, it was political commentary, which I found to be relevant to many things happening in the world. The snippets from the journal show the " boiled frog " analogy that is clearly relevant . Interesting that peop...

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

John Smith: This is what Sci Fi is all about. Reads like early Heinlein. In the style of Space Cadets. No esoteric problems..but good ol blaster and space action with a host of relatable characters

Elizabeth Krohn: I really enjoy the story but the Dursley's hate for Harry to just disappear is not very realistic and does seem to OC for me. MavisMcQueen: "To Live Again" is a well crafted, highly engaging, heart vibrating tale surrounding our favorite Elven King.
