☾ 25 ☾
For Taehyung it was great to have his best friend back in his life, he honestly didn’t know how much he really missed talking about just random things with him until he got it all back. It was a nice escape from his less than average life, Jimin made him feel normal if only for a second. Not that he was complaining about how crazy his life was now, he wouldn’t want to trade Jungkook and the twins for anything in this world.
Jimin’s monthly visits were something Taehyung found himself getting excited for, especially when Jungwoo and Mia learnt a new word or started to do something new, it was nice to show someone just how much his babies were developing. An even better fact was that Jungkook seemed to be okay with Jimin now, the two of them put the past behind them and developed a new friendship for the sake of Taehyung. Still, Jungkook couldn’t say that he appreciates Jimin’s visits too much, (but only because he receives less attention from Taehyung than he normally would).
It had been a few months since Jimin learned about the whole ‘werewolf’ thing, and thankfully he’s been good at keeping quiet about it to other people in his life. That doesn’t mean that Jungkook isn’t secretly panicking that he’ll show up at the end of every month with a team of scientists to take them away for testing, and as much as Taehyung keeps telling him it won’t happen he can’t help but stay sceptical about it all. But today was another visit and another day that Jimin had shown up completely alone with only a smile to accompany him. Call Taehyung petty, but he loves when he’s able to prove the younger wrong about things.
“I’m so happy you’re here!” Taehyung squeals as he hugs Jimin tightly, the two of them giggling like a pair of teenage girls. “Jungwoo started walking a couple of days ago! It’s the cutest thing ever, I swear you’re going to die from the cuteness.”
“Ahh, show me, show me, show me!” Jimin excitedly claps, quickly making his way into the cabin and immediately going to the living area to see the twins. “Where’s Jungkook?”
“On a run. He’s been paranoid about things lately so he insists on doing these ‘area checks’.”
“If he’s paranoid wouldn’t it be better to just stick with you and the babies?”
“He can tell if anything is wrong with me, so he’ll come running if he feels that something isn’t right. You should’ve seen him when I went into labour, he was halfway across the forest but as soon as my contractions started he was here before I knew it,” Taehyung laughs, fondly remembering the day.
“It’s still strange to me that you actually birthed these angels… I mean, I know when we were kids we used to stick pillows up our shirts and pretend to be pregnant, but I never actually thought it would come true for you,” Jimin shakes his head with a slight chuckle as he looks towards the babies. “I’m kind of jealous really, It would be amazing if Yoongi and I could have a baby that I could carry myself.”
“Oh, believe me, pregnancy isn’t fun, and don’t even get me started on actually having to give birth.”
“Still,” Jimin sighs but smiles brightly when he sees Jungwoo pull himself up and clumsily stumbles over to him. “You have two children with the person you love, that must be amazing.”
“It is. But you can still have babies with Yoongi, just because they’re not both of your blood doesn’t mean they’ll mean any less to you, right?” Taehyung makes an attempt at encouragement.
Jimin lets out another sigh, he knows Taehyung is right but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t a little bit jealous of his best friend. “Yeah, you’re right.”
There’s a slight bang that startles the two men, followed by another bang and some clicking sounds. Taehyung would be scared if his senses didn’t fill with the smell of his mate, but that doesn’t stop him from wondering what he was doing to the back door. His questions are answered when Jungkook strolls into the room still in wolf form, throwing a look at Jimin before sitting himself beside Taehyung’s seat.
“I would say explain to me why you’re still a wolf, but knowing you can’t answer I won’t bother,” Taehyung rolls his eyes, not missing the still startled look plastered on Jimin’s face. “Chim, you can relax now.”
“Oh, sure, relax, yeah, right.” Jimin awkwardly laughs, and Taehyung can’t help but chuckle slightly at him.
“Daddy,” Jungwoo happily says before he leaves Jimin to go stumbling over to Jungkook, wrapping his small, chubby arms around the wolf’s form as much as he possibly could.
Jungkook looks down at his child, his eyes shining with love as he licks the top of his head, the little boy giggling wildly from the action.
“Kookoo, I told you to stop licking our children.” Taehyung frowns, trying his best to not allow the fact he found it completely adorable to show.
“Aren’t wolves tongues hygienic though? You know, since they clean their pups fur and all… at least that’s what I assume,” Jimin shrugs.
“Don’t you encourage him, I wouldn’t spit on them so that means wolf Jungkook can’t lick them.”
“I don’t think that’s the same, but whatever you say.”
A small huff that sounds like what could be the laugh of a wolf sounds through the room and Taehyung throws a glare at Jungkook, the wolf only casually diverting his gaze as if he didn’t do anything. “I know you laughed, Kookoo. Just because you’re a wolf doesn’t mean I can’t read you like a book.”
“Is he not shifting just because I’m here? Should I be scared that he’s clearly eager to rip my throat out?” Jimin tries to whisper as if Jungkook wouldn’t be able to hear him, little does he know that it doesn’t work in the slightest.
“Of course not. He’s probably just doing it for attention, It’s harder to ignore him when he’s a wolf.” Taehyung says, laughing when Jungkook turns towards him with an insulted look in his eyes. “Oh don’t look at me like that, you know it’s true.”
Jungkook’s eyes narrow and that’s when Taehyung knows he’s caught him out, he almost laughs again when he sees him gently nudge Jungwoo off of him and goes padding out of the room silently. “Daddy,” Jungwoo whines, quickly trying to follow after the wolf but being pulled back at the last second by Taehyung.
“Uh uh, cutie. Daddy will be back in a second,” Taehyung tries to explain to the pouting boy, but he knows full well that he can’t understand what he was saying.
“Tae?” Jimin asks, his voice sounding kind of hesitant which unnerves Taehyung.
“Do you ever think about telling your parents about your children? You know how much they’ve always wanted to be grandparents…”
“Chim, you know I can’t. How do I explain that I’ve had two babies with my male partner without spilling everything about my life now?”
“Well that lie you told me about them being Jungkook’s from a previous relationship was convincing before I saw your eyes do that weird colour changing thing,” Jimin shrugs.
“But they’re my babies, not some random woman that I can lie and say Jungkook slept with. It sounds stupid but I don’t want to lie about them not being mine, and I can’t tell my parents that they are mine because they will never believe I had sex with a girl. Besides, what if something upsets them and my eyes change? I don’t think there's a way for me to control that, it’s my wolf’s natural instinct to hearing them in distress.” Taehyung sighs loudly, his gaze falling on the twins who were both playing with their blocks together. “I would love them to meet their grandparents, but it’s just not realistic.”
“I’m sorry for bringing it up, I didn’t mean to make you sad.”
Taehyung glances back at Jimin with a smile, showing him it was okay. It’s not the first time he’s had thoughts about bringing the babies back to his home town to meet his parents, but he knows there's no way he could ever do that. He doesn’t even know if he alone will ever be able to visit his parents again, but that thought makes him too sad to even think of so he pushes it so far into the back of his mind that it’s practically lost amongst everything else going on in there.
“Mommy, bwock,” Mia crawls over to Taehyung, pulling herself up to a standing position using his leg before extending her small arm to hand him a block.
Smiling, he takes the block from her before placing a small kiss on her forehead. “I didn’t expect any of this to happen, but when I chose to seal the mating bond with Jungkook I knew I was choosing him over everything else. My world is nothing without him and our children, so as long as we’re safe and we’re happy that’s all I’ll ever need.”
As soon as Taehyung finishes speaking Jungkook walks back in the room, the smile plastered on his face telling the elder that he heard every he word he said. “Finished being needy?” Taehyung teases, a cocky smirk on his face as the younger gets closer to him.
Although his cockiness is short-lived, finishing immediately when Jungkook picks him up from the chair before turning around and sitting himself down with Taehyung on his lap, the elder practically yelping the cabin down from the shock of it.
“Tae chill, you’re scaring the twins,” Jungkook was now the one smirking, whist Taehyung was still desperately trying to catch his breath.
“I told you to stop doing things like that without warning me!”
“Why? Because you like it in a less than innocent way?” Jungkook wiggles his eyebrows, more than happy that all of the elder's attention is now fully his.
“Uh, guys… I don’t want to kill your mood, but maybe you shouldn’t be getting all sexual in front of me and the little ones.” Jimin awkwardly breaks them out of their own bubble, trying to look anywhere in the room but at the couple.
“He’s getting sexual, I’m not,” Taehyung argues, childishly crossing his arms across his chest.
“You sure about that, pup?”
“And that’s my cue to leave,” Jimin quickly says, standing up in an attempt to leave them to it.
“No, you’re staying. You haven’t told me about your month yet, I need to know about the hot work gossip.”
Jungkook sighs loudly, slumping back into the chair as Taehyung positions himself more comfortably on his lap, ready to listen to all his best friend had to say. He could last an hour not being the centre of Taehyung’s attention, he’s strong enough to do that, (Or at least that's what he tells himself when really he’s just going to silently sulk until Jimin finally leaves).
Taehyung laughs at him under his breath, excitedly listening to all of Jimin’s stories about his coworkers. This really was his little slice of normal in his now abnormal life, and he seriously couldn’t be happier to have his best friend back.
