Prologue

This story begins on the 6th of September in 1979, in Longford London on the street called Hamstion road, at house number 178. This was where a loving couple is about to get the surprise of their life, or a miracle in their eyes.

You see the couple living in this house are married couple who are in their late twenties and been trying to start their family, but they have not yet been about to conceive child. With this couple living in the house it was the perfect place to hide an infant girl which was only a few hours old.

Well it was in this man’s eyes as he held his daughter in his arms. The man’s partner had died in childbirth and he knew he himself could not look after the small infant been as there was a war going on, one that he had to fight in for himself, his little girl and for his friends futures.

But war was not the best place for a baby to grow up and so the man had made the decision that he would hide the small girl with this family. He had decided to look for a place to hide the child for weeks just encase something happened and they needed to hide the child quickly.

His friends had tried to convince him that they themselves could take in the child if something happened. They themselves were expecting a little boy soon and so the woman had said it would be like them practicing for his arrival if the girl needed to be hidden for any reason.

But the man knew it would be unfair of him to burden them with having to look after a child that wasn’t their own when they were going into hiding themselves. Then there was the fact that by keeping the child close to him she would end up growing up in war that no one knew how long it would last for.

No, it was better to the child if the man just left her here, with the loving couple, so they could take care of her. Then when the war was over he’d come back for her so that he could get back into her lift as the father that he had wanted to be to her since his partner had told him she was pregnant.

However it would be better to leave his daughter here right now with the childless couple as it would be for the young infants own wellbeing and happiness. After all he was doing this for her, he was fighting for her futures, for the life that she should live out of darkness but in the light.

So here the man was, where he had apparateto in front of the couple’s house on Hamstion road. Surprisingly to the man it was dark out on the street even though it was still summer and there was a chilly breeze blowing down the road.

The breeze made the man instinctively wrapped the pale green baby blanket a little tighter around his little baby girl that was cradled in his arms. The little one was fast asleep, making a sort of cooing noise as she breathed out.

The man looked down at his newly born child and gave a sad smile. Even though she was only a baby he could tell that she was going to be a really breath taking beauty, that his little girl was going to look just like her mother had right down to her mother’s wavy blonde hair.

The man’s little girl had been born with a tuff of blond hair on her head but the man had cut it off and put it in the circular locket pendent that he now had around his neck and was now tucked safely under his shirt.

It may make him seem strange to others but to him by having something of hers on his person made him feel closer to her then he really was as well as he knew that the lock of hair from her would be the only thing he had of her until he saw her again whenever he was free to after everything.

Just the thought of how no one knew when the war would end made the man pause in his decision, it could take years for the war to be over, years he couldn’t be there for her, years that he would miss of her pervious first year of her childhood.

But as the man looked down towards the small innocent infant wrapped warmly in his arms he knew he was doing the right thing for her and for the life that he wanted for her. So with his decision firmly made and him determined to do it he turned the girl so her sleeping face was looking right at him.

“Now listen to me my sweet little baby girl” he said in a warm fatherly tone but sad voice as he knew that his tiny baby wouldn’t really remember what he was telling her at that moment and that she wouldn’t recognise him the next time that he would see her.

“I need you to be the good baby girl I just now that you are for this nice couple” he said in a soothing calming voice. “Because I think you’ll be with them for probably a long time to come while I’m away” he continued to say to the sleeping infant.

“But I promise to come back for you when all this over and the bad man’s gone, ok.” The child began to wake up and move in his arms, as if she was struggling against him, wanting him to stay. “Now don’t do that and make it hard for me to leave” he joked sadly at the baby’s struggling.

“You know I have to go, or the others would be lost without me” and with that said he put the little girl on the step of the house and pulled out a note from his pocket along with a small paper packet, lying it to place it on top of the blanket wrapped infant then He took out a carved stick from his pocket.

“Salvio Hexia” he whispered softly. Though he felt like there was no danger to the girl by placing the spell it made him feel better knows that she cannot be attacked while she was out in the open. “Good Bye Chloe, I’ll see you soon” and with that he pressed to doorbell and disapprate away.

It was only a few moments of just the noise of a baby cooing in her sleep as she breathed out before a tired man who could have only been in in his late twenties opened the door in blue and white striped Pyjamas in a dark blue dressing gown. He looked down as the wrapped up bundle with the little girl in shock.

“Honey, come quick!” he finally called out once he got over the shock of seeing a small baby laid out on their doorstep. The man leaned down and picked up the bundle and brought her inside and closed the door, with his foot, quietly so not to wake the little infant.

His wife came down stairs while she was tying the belt of her hot pink dressing gown so it closed over her short pale pink night gown when she saw the bundle in her husband’s arms. She almost fell down the stairs in shock.

She walked quickly the rest of the way down almost slipping on the stairs again in her haste to be at her husband’s side. Came to stand in front of her husband with a look of disbelief on her face. She turned her gaze form the bundle of pale green to her husband who was holding the tiny creature.

“Is this a dream?” she asked in shock. Her husband gave a chuckle.

“If it is, we’ve having the same one” he replied holding the bundle closer to him. He then saw the note and paper packet on top. He passed the bundle to his wife and took the note and packet. The packet said on it, ‘Mix all of this with warm milk’ he then looked to read the note.

Dear Mr & Mrs Perth.

This is my little girl Chloe who was born today at 1pm on the 6th of September. I have had to leave her behind as my life is too dangerous for such an innocent life at the moment. I ask if you would please look after her like she was your own for I know that you both want to have a child, so this is me asking if you would please be selfish and look after her for me.

P.S. the powder in the paper is for Mrs Perth as it will allow her to breast feed Chloe.

Mr Perth looked to his wife and the little girl; Chloe and instantly fell in love with the sight of the baby in his wife’s arms. The sight just made him want to try harder for a child of their own even more. However he was quite content with just having this bundle for now.

And so he decided that he would look after the girl for this stranger till he came for his little. So the Perth family went to bed with their new family member; Chloe Perth.
