Prologue

The shrill ring of the cell phone startled Edward from his meditative state at the window of his rented room. His inn overlooked the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Beneath him lay one of the most vibrant and busiest markets in the city.

Edward debated with himself whether to let it ring; he wasn't in the mood for a conversation. But then he thought that it might be a concerned Carlisle or Esme calling to check if he was still sane. When Edward picked up his silver cell phone, he saw the unlikeliest of names to be calling him. It was Rosalie, the only sibling he almost never got along with. She thought him as an arrogant know-it-all, he thought her shallow and selfish, it was a mutual agreement that they both shared that they did not in any way or form, enjoy each others company.

So Edward pressed the talk button to answer and did not say anything. He heard the sound of her voice,

"Edward?... Edward I know you are listening, so the least you can do is answer me."

Edward for a moment was not sure if he still could talk, it had been months since he let out a word, so he said, quite ghostly-like,

"Yes Rose, what is it?"

"Where are you?" She asked, uncharacteristic concern lacing her voice.

Edward did not respond, afraid that giving her his location would result in an unexpected visit from his family, something he could not handle at the moment.

Rosalie sighed and said, "Mom and dad think you're going to do something drastic. Try and hurt yourself, or something along those lines. You must come home Edward, for their sakes and for the sake of your family."

"I can't," Edward whispered.

"Why? Is it because of that human girl, really, you're going to let a break-up with fragile teenager destroy you? Do you forget that it was your decision to leave? Now you have to live with your decisions."

"I did not want to leave her, I love her Rose." Edward replied, wondering why he was still discussing this with her, this conversation was going nowhere.

"It was nothing more than a dream brother. She will die, you will not; that's the end of it."

"She still has a life t0 live." Edward said.

"Are you so sure? Alice had a vision…" Rosalie drifted off, obviously contemplating how much information she should give.

"What?" Edward asked sharply.

"It's about Bella. She tried to commit suicide."

salma elsamy: it's really awesome , and I really like the whole idea of the story . I also love how simple the vocabularies because English is my second language and the simplicity of the story is great for me . And I will definitely buy it if it's published.

annie08c: I really like this story, I can relate to it a lot and with how she feels, the boyfriend and the events that happened but I'm a little bit younger. It was really good plot, really liked how you stuck to the topic and you had a new title for every chapter making me guess what's going to happen. Ma...

harry142018: This story was gripping and very professionally written. With lots of twists and slight of hand tricks, the author deceives the reader until finally showing their cards at the end. With several subplots all intertwining to create the main plot, this really is an interesting and engaging read.

ianwatson: The comedy is original and genuinely funny, I have laughed out loud many times reading this book. But the story and the plot are also really engaging. The opening two or three chapters seem quite character-dense but they all soon come to life and there is no padding, filling or wasted time readin...

PaulSenkel: If you like Arthur C. Clarke's Odyssey, especially The Final Odyssey, then you will probably also enjoy this book. I definitely did.It does, however, address a more adolescent public than the above-mentioned book.I enjoyed the story and finished it in a few days. The overall situation on earth an...

Bernsigns: This is an age old story, but with excellent plot twists that I didn't see coming. I truly liked how the story slowly, but steadily revealed the secrets. There were secrets I didn't expect, which kept me wanting to read. I always love a happy ending, with a little bit of real life mixed in. Th...

Kalyan Shobhana: There is not a moment in this book where you think...let me stop now. this book cast a spell that compels you to finish it. in the end...you just hope and pray that may it turn out to be a series and the author keeps writing more and more. Let's just say this books makes me want to be selfish ,so...

smile4me: Exciting page turner. I was barely able to put it down to go to bed. I can usually figure out the twists before they are revealed but not this time! Such a thrill to be surprised. I can hardly wait for the follow up!!

GeorgeS: The author has a VERY refreshingly direct writing style. Sometimes being punched in the gut (or nose, as the case may be) can be an excellent thing, indeed. Whatever may be lacking in subtlety is more than made up for in the diamond clarity of character development. I look forward to MORE. I c...

lopezmariana97: I loved everything about this book. I read it in a weekend because it was so hard to put down. I real liked that it wasn't a typical demon story and that It didn't involve vampires. I pictured the cast for this book if it ever becomes a movie. 100% love

Sandra Estrada: I loved every minute of it and I thank my lucky stars that brought me to the story, it's been a whirlwind of emotions, plot twist after plot twist but I never got tired of them.
