Merry Christmas, Finn

Mike's Dancing Shoes

Mike Chang sat on the edge of the stage. The auditions for West Side Story were coming up and he was all set to prove he could do it. Kind of. He rose to his feet and started working on some dance moves. When he spotted Finn.

Finn Hudson smiled brightly at the Asian guy.

"Hey," he said as he approached Mike.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" Mike asked.

"I wanted to talk to you about something," Finn said as he took a seat center stage. Mike sat down beside him. "Here," Finn said as he reached into the pocket of his lettermen's jacket and pulled something out .

"What's this?"

"Dancing shoes," he answered.

"A Christmas ornament," Mike stated.

"Yeah but I know that you auditioning for West Side Story is freaking you out," Finn said.

"Kinda. This is a big step for me."

"I know. That's why I wanted to give you this," the tall boy said. "You're an awesome dancer Mike and they'd be crazy not to give you the part."

"Thanks, Finn," Mike said smiling.

"You're welcome." they sat in silence for a moment before Finn spoke again. "I've always believed in you."

"What?"

"Yeah, from the moment I saw you dance I knew you would go places," Finn said.

"Well, thank you for being ballsy enough to join the glee club in the first place," Mike said.

"Nah man. You would've found your way there anyway," the taller boy said shaking his head. "I just led the way." Mike nodded. "Look, whenever you get discouraged, just look at those dancing shoes. Remember that I may not be able to dance three steps without tripping but that I'm always gonna be there watching you take over the world one Jack Johnson song at a time." Mike laughed.

"Thanks Finn," he said with a warm smile. "I love you, man."

"You're welcome. I love you too," Finn said as he pulled his friend into a tight hug.
