Taking Over Me

Draco and Hermione. ONESHOT. Love hurts. Love heals. Love breaks down doors and mends bridges. Too bad he fell in love with the Mudblood.

Time never seems to pass here, in our world, for us. When your days upon this earth are limitless, you don't ever bother to count the hours...until you are alone. Now, as you enter the twilight of you

Pale green eyes outlined by 37 freckles across a long nose, on a sunbaked face. Red haired children playing in the front yard, strong arms holding her securely, and the laugh of the boy (man, he was a man now)

It was cold. And wet. So unlike this time of year should be. The war was over, and the world should have been full of sunshine and laughter, but it wasn't. Not for her. Life could be no darker; no fuller of dispair. All around her people celebrated, and life continued, and the war was over, but here she was, staring at a grave that shouldn't exist and wondering where it all went wrong.

Edward reflects on his life of longing and how he would have done things differently if only he too had understood to fear age. AU. Past Bella/Jacob. Past Bella/Edward. Implied Edward/OC.

Summary:  Same steel grey eyes. Same pale skin. Same platinum blonde hair. I find the pain increasing every day.

"You don't remember me but I remember you."

Five years. That's how long it's been since the end of the war. Five long, hard years. They said the memories would come back with time, but my hope is starting to fade. Each time I see you, you seem to remember less and less. You barely remember my name these days. But I know you. Better than most I would say.

"I lie awake and try so hard not to think of you."

It's hard not to constantly think of you. After all, I have Lily. I love our daughter dearly, but she is a painful reminder of what I know I will never have. You. It's hard not to get lost in old albums of happier times. Times when you still knew who I was.

"But who can decide what they dream? And dream I do..."

I dreamt of you last night. We were at the house on the shore. Just us, back before the war took a turn for the worse and Tom drove you insane through your mark. Severus has TRIED to find a cure. He and Hermione worked for days on end for months trying every combination of ingredients they could think of, but nothing worked.

"I believe in you. I'll give up everything just to find you. I have to be with you, to live, to breathe. You're taking over me."

People think I'm crazy, but I know a cure is out there. I've almost bled the Potter Vaults dry, but that doesnt matter. I will work every day of my life if it means finding a cure. I WILL bring you back to me. To us.

"Have you forgotten all I know? And all we had? You saw me mourning my love for you, And touched my hand. I knew you loved me then."

I think you came back to me today. For the briefest moment it was as if you knew who I was...who you were. You came into the living room where I was staring at a photograph of us the day we were engaged. I knew I was crying. Your deterioriating mental health had taken an enormous toll on me. You asked me what was wrong but I just shook my head. How can you tell someone they have forgotten an 18 year long battle, and the fruits of many peoples labor. You can't. But there it was. Pain and recognition in your steel grey eyes.

"Harry."

It was a breath, but it was there. You reached out to me, and I was overwhelmed.

"I believe in you. I'll give up everything just to find you. I have to be with you, to live, to breathe. You're taking over me."

"Draco?"

But you were gone, and once again, I'm alone.

"Draco, please. Come back to me. Remember! For Lily? For me?"

Pain. I can see you WANT to remember, you just don't know how.

"I look in the mirror and see your face. If I look deep enough, So many things inside that are just like you are taking over…"

Lily is LIKE a mirror...a window into your soul. I look at her and it's like looking at you all over again. Same steel grey eyes. Same pale skin. Same platinum blonde hair. I find the pain increasing every day. There is nothing I can deny her simply because there is nothing I have left to give you.

"I believe in you. I'll give up everything just to find you. I have to be with you to live, to breathe. You're taking over me."

I will join you my love. Soon you and I will be together again. I know you are no longer in pain. No longer lost within yourself. Lily will be taken care of. Loved. She will have a life that I can never give her. After all, how am I to provide for her from within these cold stone walls? Tom took your freedom from you, and I gave it back. I gave my freedom so that you would not suffer. I only hope that when the time comes, you will be waiting for me on the other side.

Bboyjoon: A brilliant but unsettling story about 5 murders committed by a serial killer. This novel scared me a little bit and I have to commend you for being able to do that. I wanted to know if you’ve actually met a serial killer before. I mean the way you’ve described the mind of a psychopath is extreme...

Catherine Kopf: This novel has an interesting perspective on a broken mind that obviously the author took a lot of time into creating. The main protagonist is very fleshed out and complex, allowing the readers to root for and feel empathy towards him. There is enough in there to really give the reader an emotion...

farziex3: I think this novel is perfect because it had erotic, romance, and towards the end was a twist so I was just on the edge of my seat reading this book. It was honestly really amazing. RodRaglin: Your writing is very good, Rachel, but remember you also have to entertain the reader and in that regard it's a bit sparse in action and dialogue.Consider when revising...When starting a new story always consider your protagonist's Goal - what they want; Motivation - why they want it; and, Confli...

Talana Patterson: This story is very interesting It gives a great ideal on young people about their sexuality and discovering the true self about them As a lesbian myself discovered that when I was young I get a feeling and chills over my back just reading this amazing story

sujitha nair: What's so distinct about this story was that it could easily be real. Praveena can be your classmate, neighbor or that girl you saw at the coffee shop today. The important decisions she makes and the dilemmas she faces, remind us of our own twisted lives.

FreakyPoet: I found this story well written and extremely cute. I like how the emotional roller coaster, otherwise know as love, was done here. it was very believable that these two characters would deny, agonize, then come to except their feelings the way that they did.
