Don't Let Me Go

Don't Let Me Go

Don't let me go.

You see my wrists you don't know my pain.

You see my heart breaking, you look away.

To obsessed with your own fame.

Friends gone, livin' their own lives

Forgetting about me and my pain.

I have this feeling in my gut now,

Waiting for an answer that I know I'll won't get.

I'm trying to surrender,

But please don't let me go.

I'm trying to surrender,

But please don't let me go.

I turn my back on them and they do the same.

I cry, because there's a feeling I can't tame.

Cut up, I can't feel my hands.

I fall hard on the ground I once stood, I land.

I won't black out.

It's too easy to give up and go out.

I'm trying to surrender

But please don't let me go.

My love was pure,

But you corrupted it.

You took it away, leaving me with a broken heart.

The virus infecting my love,

Killing it like a gun to a dove.

We're now worlds apart, no turning back now.

No Angel to hold me together intact.

I'm trying to surrender,

So I've decided.

So just let me go.

Just let me go.

My blood spilling on the floor, the razor tainted.

I cry happy tears and my decision is made.

Slow and torturous, but ever gratifying.

As I clutch the picture of the one I hope to meet.

I close my eyes.

Darkness surrounding me, blinding.

A white light comes toward me,

And I see the love I lost, my Angel.

She holds out her hand and as I take it,

It slips from me, disappearing like cigarette smoke.

I wake to a new light, sterile and clean,

With her no longer there.

My friends stand above me,

They care, and I see it now in their eyes.

The love was never gone, but it was me.

Sad eyes watched me.

"Collins, why?" they asked.

I have this feeling in my gut now.

Getting the answer I've been waiting to hear,

But not the one I wanted to hear.

"It's not your time. Another time, Another place.

Don't throw away your life,

It'll be yours you'll miss."

She whispered into my ear.

I look and she's not there.

I heard her, my guardian Angel.

Another time, another place she said.

Well I guess we'll meet again.

I was trying to surrender,

But she didn't let me go.

I had to let her go.

I was trying to surrender,

But she didn't let me go.

I let her go, let go trying to be with her.

Another time, another place,

Taking her words to heart.

I'll see her again, positive as the AIDS running through my veins,

But just not now.

I tried to surrender,

But they [friends] didn't let me.

I tried to surrender,

But she didn't let me.

So I cry happy tears because my decision is made,

I won't surrender.

I'll fight, so help me.

I won't surrender again.

I'll fight, so help me through it.

I won't surrender.

So help me, don't let me go.

Don't Let Me Go.

Hay Day: this is the first book I read in inkitt and I loved it. the storyline line in good. the characters were very expressive. I never got bored while reading. I hope the author write Henry's story someday and think about making a historical romance series.

Prime Rabel: Love the writing and explaining the whole world was simply magnificent. The writer kept the pace up and was eager to finish this novel although it ended so soon. Would be waiting and love to read its next part. Thumbs up to the writer for such a great peace and taking me back to medieval times of...

brettylee: The narrative is slick yet punchy. Life, Family and Friends I believe is the core message so it’s easy to relate to. It’s surprisingly action packed. The author does a good job at keeping you guessing. Just when you think all is right, whack, the unexpected happens. The dialogue is energetic and ...

Diana123: Wow! This story is very emotional to begin with. And then it is also exciting, interesting and amazing. There are so many moment and situations in this story that really moved me and made me want to cry (to begin with – the story about little Norm not knowing what a hug is, then the death of his ...

PaulSenkel: If you like Arthur C. Clarke's Odyssey, especially The Final Odyssey, then you will probably also enjoy this book. I definitely did.It does, however, address a more adolescent public than the above-mentioned book.I enjoyed the story and finished it in a few days. The overall situation on earth an...

shanmukhapriyab: The Book is really good and worth a read. I really loved this book and I read it about 3 to 4 times. It has the right amount of everything needed for a book. I am a big fan of this book right now and I have recommended this book to my friends. Keep writing.

ianwatson: The comedy is original and genuinely funny, I have laughed out loud many times reading this book. But the story and the plot are also really engaging. The opening two or three chapters seem quite character-dense but they all soon come to life and there is no padding, filling or wasted time readin...

LouiseJ2: I enjoyed the detail you went into with regards to the case. It made the UNSUB appear believable. The crisis in the middle of the story was my favorite part, very dramatic but not over the top. I feel like sometimes pairings can be overdone but I liked that some of the relationships were a little...

carolinewawerucw: brilliantly written!!! an intricate plot that keeps one on their toes. the style of writing is interesting especially how the writer kept giving the reader a piece of each character. I also loved how storyline played around scenarios that are relatable and the characters executed the roles exce...

Deidre L. Swain: I understood where the story was going but the writing skills were lacking a lot. There are some places that had no flow. The plot was good which is what kept me reading the whole story. I think the author shows promise. They just need to tighten up on their skills to really get it going
