Don't Let Me Go

Don't let me go.

You see my wrists you don't know my pain.

You see my heart breaking, you look away.

To obsessed with your own fame.

Friends gone, livin' their own lives

Forgetting about me and my pain.

I have this feeling in my gut now,

Waiting for an answer that I know I'll won't get.

I'm trying to surrender,

But please don't let me go.

I'm trying to surrender,

But please don't let me go.

I turn my back on them and they do the same.

I cry, because there's a feeling I can't tame.

Cut up, I can't feel my hands.

I fall hard on the ground I once stood, I land.

I won't black out.

It's too easy to give up and go out.

I'm trying to surrender

But please don't let me go.

My love was pure,

But you corrupted it.

You took it away, leaving me with a broken heart.

The virus infecting my love,

Killing it like a gun to a dove.

We're now worlds apart, no turning back now.

No Angel to hold me together intact.

I'm trying to surrender,

So I've decided.

So just let me go.

Just let me go.

My blood spilling on the floor, the razor tainted.

I cry happy tears and my decision is made.

Slow and torturous, but ever gratifying.

As I clutch the picture of the one I hope to meet.

I close my eyes.

Darkness surrounding me, blinding.

A white light comes toward me,

And I see the love I lost, my Angel.

She holds out her hand and as I take it,

It slips from me, disappearing like cigarette smoke.

I wake to a new light, sterile and clean,

With her no longer there.

My friends stand above me,

They care, and I see it now in their eyes.

The love was never gone, but it was me.

Sad eyes watched me.

"Collins, why?" they asked.

I have this feeling in my gut now.

Getting the answer I've been waiting to hear,

But not the one I wanted to hear.

"It's not your time. Another time, Another place.

Don't throw away your life,

It'll be yours you'll miss."

She whispered into my ear.

I look and she's not there.

I heard her, my guardian Angel.

Another time, another place she said.

Well I guess we'll meet again.

I was trying to surrender,

But she didn't let me go.

I had to let her go.

I was trying to surrender,

But she didn't let me go.

I let her go, let go trying to be with her.

Another time, another place,

Taking her words to heart.

I'll see her again, positive as the AIDS running through my veins,

But just not now.

I tried to surrender,

But they [friends] didn't let me.

I tried to surrender,

But she didn't let me.

So I cry happy tears because my decision is made,

I won't surrender.

I'll fight, so help me.

I won't surrender again.

I'll fight, so help me through it.

I won't surrender.

So help me, don't let me go.

Don't Let Me Go.

Shreya Biswas: Finally god...... I was tired of Charissa doubting Frederick's love... yes.. All's well that ends well.... i was getting really downright agitated at the author because the suspense was held really well on how things will work out in the epilogue and i just wanted them to have a happy ending.. allisonflin: Without a doubt the most well written story that I have read on this site. Informative, discriptive, well punctuated. Then we have the story itself, which by the way I am waiting on the edge of my seat for part two of, the characters are more than likeable, you feel them and their emotions...

zoheusher20: What more can I say? The writing style and little details drew me into the book and for the entirety of the story I was Juliet. I felt her turmoil and emotions and every trouble or triumph as they arrived. This story was very different and had quite a few little but unexpected twists that made it...

Destiny Lee: This is amazing. It's totally realistic - cool girls have flaws, too, okay?? Totally awkward girl picks up her mom's old bass from her garage, messes around, and realizes, hey, maybe I can move on after all. She has moments where everything's hopeless for her, after all, an alcoholic dad and a fl...

Sandra Estrada: I loved every minute of it and I thank my lucky stars that brought me to the story, it's been a whirlwind of emotions, plot twist after plot twist but I never got tired of them. Abby and Kade's story is a hard one to understand but once you're submerged in their story and love, you can't help but...

RodRaglin: Your writing is very good, Rachel, but remember you also have to entertain the reader and in that regard it's a bit sparse in action and dialogue.Consider when revising...When starting a new story always consider your protagonist's Goal - what they want; Motivation - why they want it; and, Confli...

Laraine Smith: My only suggestion on the grammar is to use www.grammarcheck.net. I have it bookmarked on Google Chrome. I see myself in the determination in this beautiful story! I have Cerebral Palsy, and I have dreams that I have been working hard for, too! The humor made me laugh!

sherylprins: A thoroughly enjoyable read, "Everything Changes in Spring" by first time novelist Robyn Prins. ryder: This is an excellent read. From beginning to end the author showed his creative and imaginative writing skills. Twists and turns, surprises, humor, and sorrow: This book has it all. I strongly recommend this book, and I am already recommending it to my friends.

Alex Rushmer: Chapter One: Not much is happening in this chapter, but I was absolutely fascinated by the depth of your character development. I love how you just sat there with the reader and explored Eddward. Usually, that sort of thing gets boring very fast, but this was actually really cool! He's so unique ...

Jennie Lewis: A little slow in the beginning, but once the tide came in, I was caught up in it, and couldn't escape. I read it through without stopping, literally couldn't put it down. Above all, the ending was very satisfying.
