Turning Back Time Chapter 13
Sunnydale, California 2001
Buffy ripped through the layers of cloth that bedded the coffin. She punched her knuckles through the lid forcing her way out from the wooden box and dirt.
A desperate hand burst out from beneath ripping out from ground. Buffy lifted herself and caught her breath violently as she made it out from her grace. She coughed feeling lightheaded and confused as she crawled out and turned to see her gravestone. Her eyes widened. She squinted her unfocused eyes and read her name: BUFFY ANNE SUMMERS. Engraved on the stone.
Buffy wiped a piece of dirt from her chin with her sleeve when she caught a glimpse of a gold Claddagh ring around her ring finger. She stared at it strangely then heard a crash that took her away from the ring. She took a step on wobbly legs and surveyed her surroundings.
She was in a cemetery and it was nighttime. The sounds of motorcycles and screams invaded her head deafening her.

Cordelia sat at the front dest sorting through solved case files in the record cabinet when Angel, Wesley, and Gunn walked into the hotel with weapons on their shoulders returning from the nightly patrol.
"Angel!" Cordelia hollered with excitement when the vampire appeared. "Did you find that-" Her head slammed down on the desk and flashes of a familiar blonde haired woman crawling out of a grave went through her mind.
The three men rushed over to the seer.
Cordelia grasped her head reeling from the agonising pain. "Ow."
"What was it?" Angel asked searching the young woman's eyes.
Cordelia looked up at him with confused eyes, "It's… It's Buffy." a smile appeared on her face. "She's alive. Buffy's alive."
If Angel's heart could beat it would have stopped. He ran a hand through his spiky hair. "I have to see her. I have to go." He dropped the weapons on the ground and walked past Fred in a rush and out of the hotel.
Fred frowned and looked at the group. "Who's Buffy?"
The black '67 Plymouth GTX sept down the empty highway on a single mission; See Buffy.
Angel rubbed a hand over his face as whispering voices filled his mind.
She's moved on from you, Liam. She wants nothing to do with you. She hates you.
Angel shook his head focusing on the dark road stepping on the gas peddle a little harder.
I want you to make love to me, Liam.
The vampires grip tightened around the steering wheel.

The morning sunlight streamed into the bedroom bathing the partially clothed couple tangled in each other's arms.
Liam was the first to rise in the morning a normally. He caressed Buffy's cheek gently with the back of his hand then pushed her long blonde hair off of her shoulder.
Buffy's eyes slowly opened seeing his handsome face. A warm and loving smile graced across her lips. "My Angel," She breathlessly whispered and weaved her fingers into his hair keeping him close.
Liam closed the small space between them and brushed his lips against hers. Buffy's hand cupped his face and moved along to the back of his neck deepening the kiss.
The bedroom door suddenly burst open.
The romantic moment between the married couple came to a screeching halt when their children climbed up onto the bed and tackled their adorning parents.
Buffy smiled breaking the kiss and looked at Liam. "We have kids in the bed." She smiled at him.
"It's morning! It's morning! Time to wake up!" Connor jumped up and down on the bed as Katie crawled up Liam's body laying in his arms much like her mother.

Angel pulled the car over off the high way as all of his forgotten memories rushed back threw his mind. He remembered everything. Every words ever spoken, every kiss.
His entire existence revolved around finding Buffy. He searched ever corner of the earth for her until 1997 when he found her again. She didn't remember him.
He remembered. He married a heavenly woman named, Buffy Summers of America, and they had a family. It was real an it happened.
Angel put the car into gear and took off down the highway.
The Scoobies walked slowly down the darken alleyway heading back to the Magic Box avoiding the chaos around them. The gang walked with disappointment when a petite shadowed figure jumped down in front of them.
"Watch it!" Xander shouted with surprise.
The gang staggered back then narrowed their eyes on the woman. It was Buffy.
Anya rolled her eyes, "Oh, it's the Buffybot."
"Ah, peachy." Xander rolled his eyes. "No doubt to lead the wild bunch right to us again. Hey, Will, next time this thing's damaged couldn't yea program it to find the nearest Radio Shack or-" Xander took notice of Willow's far off expression.
"Buffy?" Willow said the Slayer's name carefully.
Buffy's eyes reached the redheads. Buffy couldn't recognise the the redhead.
"Buffy!" Willow called out to her as Buffy ran away in a fright.
"Buffy! Buffy!" They called out to her running down the alleyway.
"Where is she?" Anya asked searching every nook of the alley.
Willow stopped in her tracks hearing the Slayer's gasps. She turned to see Buffy crouched against the brick wall terrified between two dumpsters. "Buffy? Buffy are you…" Willow kneeled down to the distraught woman. "It's Willow. Can you hear me?"
Buffy's head darted recognising the voice but it screeched into her ears. Her hands covered her head shielding herself from the pain.
"What's wrong with her?" Anya whispered.
"Nothing!" Willow growled. "She-she's in shock."
"Her hands are bleeding. Look at her fingers." Tara's heart broke for the young woman.
"Oh, she's filthy." Anya frowned.
Xander stepped back in realisation. His hand covered his face with disbelief. "Oh God… How could we - How could we be so stupid?!"
"Xander!" Willow turned to the man.
"Our spell. Our resurrection spell worked like a magic charm. We brought you back to life Buffy." He slowly approached the Slayer. "Right where we left her."
Willow's face fell and washed with horrified guilt. "Oh God."
"In her coffin."
"She had to-to dig herself out of her own grave." Tara looked at the woman with uneasy dismay.
The Scoobies stared at the frightened fidgeting woman when a group of chaos demons appeared behind them with grimacing grins.
"Lookie at what we have here." The gang leader said startling the gang. "My boys came looking for a massacre. And I'm going to give them one." The demon grinned devilishly.
"The last massacre I was at was in Prussia…" A dark velvet voice sounded behind the demons.
They spun around to see dark figure standing in the shadows.
"And you lived through it? That's surprising." The gang leader sized the dark figure up and down unafraid.
Angel appeared under the dim lit lights and shook his head with a smirk. "No, it was exciting." The vampires brogue Irish accent seeped into his words.
Buffy froze her shaking body and looked up hearing the familiar velvet voice. She slowly stood and saw Angel standing in front of the demons with confidence.
"Tough words vampire." The leader demon smiled. "So, who wants to go first?"
His eyes searched the faces of the Scoobies. Angel took a step forward when Buffy appeared from her hiding place moving closer to the demons. A slow grin slid across the demons mouth watching Buffy tentatively move toward him. "I was really hoping it'd be you." He stared down at the small woman and punched his fist into her face.
Angel tensed but waited to see what she would do before he defended her.
Buffy's head slowly rose her eye ignoring the blood on her lip. She tilted her head to the side slightly confusing the demon. The demon threw out his fist again, this time, Buffy caught its fist kicked the demons shin watching it fall to the ground in pain. She followed her attack with a powerful punch into the demons face. The chaos demon fell to the ground unconscious.
Angel crossed his arms with a crooked smile watching the Vampire Slayer.
The gang of demons attacked the Slayer with full force. Buffy took a baseball bat into her stomach as Angel came up behind the demon and snapped its neck. Buffy caught a string of heavy chairs and wrapped it around a demons neck while using a knife in the grip of an attacking demon and forced it to stab itself.
Buffy let the demons fall dead to the ground.
"Well, they wanted a massacre." Tara said and stood beside her girlfriend and the gang all staring at Buffy with wonder.
"She's Buffy. She's herself again." Xander said moving toward the woman. "You're back Buffy, you really are." He stretched out his arms to hug her.
Buffy jumped back frightened of the man.
Xander backed off holding up his hands defensively. "Whoa, whoa."
Buffy distanced herself from the group and wiped the blood from her lip. She stood straight and took off from the alleyway when she ran into a large mass.
Her green eyes looked up meeting familiar dark chocolate eyes looking back at her.
Her breath hitched recognising when his fingers reached out and touched her cheek gently. Buffy frowned staring at his face trying to piece it together. The tingling sensation of his hands, the smell of his skin, and the warmth in her chest was familiar to her but his face was a blank.
