Turning Back Time Chapter 9
Liam rolled onto his back, keeping Buffy firmly in his arms. He ran a hand up and down her naked back. She tilted her head upwards and smiled running slender fingers through his brown messy hair. Liam leaned towards her and captured her lips savouring her taste. "I've got somethin' for ya." He smiled against her mouth.
"Ooh presents! What did I do to deserve presents?" Buffy grinned.
Liam sat up against the headboard and Buffy shifted to straddle his lap. Liam smirked and reached to the night table opening the drawer and took out a black little box.
Liam placed it into Buffy's hand and anxiously watched her open the box. Buffy held a golden Claddagh ring between her fingers. She watched the shine of ring glimmer in the candle light.
A sudden image flash went through Buffy's mind of she and Angel standing on the docks holding a Claddagh ring between his fingers.
"My people exchange this as a sign of devotion. It's a Claddagh ring." Liam took the ring from her fingers and slid it onto her left ring finger. "The hands represent friendship, the crown represents loyalty… and the heart… well, represents me deep and utter love for ya, Buffy." Buffy looked at him with tearful eyes. "Wear it with the heart pointing towards ya. It means ya belong to somebody." He raised his left hand up to her. "Like this."
Like she had done before in another life, Buffy took his hand into her own and kissed the golden ring placed on his finger.
His left hand moved from hers and slid down to her growing belly. "Ya given me the privilege letting me become your husband and now the father of our unborn child. I love ya with all me heart and all me soul, my grá… Ya're the one." Buffy closed the small space between them kissing him slowly and tenderly. Liam frowned feeling her wet tears against his face.
Buffy smiled reassuringly wiping her fallen tears from under her eyes. "Don't worry about it… They're happy tears. Promise." Liam smiled relieved and brought her to lay on his chest and his hand still on her flat belly rubbed it soothingly. His mouth connected with hers and slid his hands down her body adjusting to her hover more over him.

"Yes, wherever she is, I can guarantee she's happy. She's probably lookin' down at yea right now, nibblet."
"Even though she jumped in an energy ball leading straight to hell?"
"Even so, pet."
Dawn looked away from Spike in thought. She turned to him again and blurted, "What if she's not?! What if, she's being blown back and forth by the winds or, or frozen being eaten?"
Spike eyed the girl surprised by her strange accusations and fears. "Dawn, where on earth did you hear that?"
"We're reading 'Dante's Inferno' in class. I can't help but think she's in come hell dimension suffering because of me."
Spike leaned his elbows onto his knees. "I think she's in a good place. Heaven, if you will…" Spike placed the card deck on the coffee table. "Now cut the bleeding deck."
Dawn did as told and distributed the cards evenly between herself and Spike. Spike waited patiently and took the card pile. "Right. Do you got any two's?" He asked.
Spike frowned and took a card from the remaining card pile sitting back in the chair.

Buffy waddled across the bedroom and eyed herself in the tall mirror. She turned to her side and observed her expanding belly with a heavy sigh. Liam stood against the doorframe watching his wife stare at herself. Her brows knit together and she chewed her bottom lip.
"I feel ugly and fat." She said.
Liam smirked and pushed himself off of the doorframe the wrapped his arms around Buffy's waist placing his hands onto her large pregnant belly. "Ya're as beautiful as the sunshine And Ya're not fat grá. Just the opposite. Ya're with my child, lass." He smiled proudly at the thought of his child growing inside of her.
Buffy sorted a laugh with an amused eye roll. "You can try to be a little less proud Mr Ego much?"
Liam smiled at her strange word play and kissed the exposed skin of her neck. "Before ya know it, we'll have a little sprong running about." Buffy's eyes suddenly widened horrified. "What? What is it? The child?" Liam shuttered immediately anticipating something wrong.
Buffy turned in his arms. "I didn't even think of that." She looked at him with huge eyes.
"Think of what, lass?"
"There are no drugs yet. Oh god." Buffy stepped out of his safe embrace horrified.
"Drugs? What ever for?"
"You know like epidural or something like that." Buffy sat on the edge of the bed with heavy sigh. "Oh God, I gotta have this baby naturally?" She tried to process her words.
"Buffy, I'm sorry, I-I don't know what ya're talkin' about. Of course ya havin' the baby naturally. There isn't any other way." Buffy didn't respond. She stood up and punched her husbands shoulder causing him to wince in pain. "Ow! What the hell was that for?"
"You stupid butt head! You're the one who did this to me! There's no drugs or birth control or freaking condoms! Gah, I hate this century! You suck!" She crossed the room with a fury then faced him with a worried expression. "This is really gonna suck." Buffy walked out of the bedroom in deep thought.
Liam placed his hands on his hips and pushed his fallen hair off of his face. "What's a condom?!" He called out to Buffy.
