Going Back

Prologue

Severus Snape stared down into the swirling silvery blue substance that held many of his memories, both good and bad. He took a deep breath. Snape knew that he very well might not make it out of this battle and he knew that the battle was coming soon. The Dark Lord had been getting anxious and Snape's Dark Mark burned almost all the time now. This could quite possibly be his last chance to review everything that had led up to this point; every mistake, every happy encounter, every death. This could be the last chance for him to make sense of it all. Feeling the weight of what he was doing pressing down on his very soul, Snape looked into the stone basin and prepared himself to relive events that he swore to banish from his mind forever. Snape never had been good at keeping promises.

AN: Hello there, thanks for giving this a chance! The characters and timeline of this story will not be entirely accurate to the book but I will try to keep it as close as possible. The chapters will be relatively short (probably around 1,000 words) but as I plan for it to be episodic, I think it will work out. Please let me know what you think!

makaylakay: I love love this story! It's written incredibly and well thought-out plot! I love how it's a different twist in fantasy fiction, other then the usual vampire or werewolves. Gavin Lafayette: I really like this story! The author has created characters that are well-defined and complicated, and the plot is intriguing. There are so many places this story could go, and I am looking forward to reading the second book as it comes out..

Charlie_8472: Recommended to me by a friend, I thought I'd give this a read. As a hobbyist blacksmith, the blurb certainly caught my attention. I found the sentence about them drinking, dancing and fighting a strange combination of activities, perhaps a reflection of the writer’s personality and humour. Howeve...

Alex Rushmer: I read the first few chapters of this story and really enjoyed it. Your characters were unique and interesting. I really liked the fight scene with the necromancer and the sniper. The writing itself was very descriptive and gave me a clear picture of what was happening. I was a little confused ab...

Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...
