Summer Loving

☀︎ 13 ☀︎

Jimin strolls into Taehyung’s room without even knocking, something they were both used to at this point. Taehyung was in the process of getting dressed for the day, shirtless and standing in front of his wardrobe as he decided on what shirt would go the best with the pants he was wearing. Jimin lets out a low whistle as he sees the dark marks littering his best friend’s chest and stomach, followed by a laugh when Taehyung rolls his eyes.

“Done staring at me, Chim?” Taehyung sarcastically asks as he pulls a shirt off one of the hangers and slips it on.

“Was he good? Did you top or bottom? Do you think you’re in love with him? Did he say he just wanted sex or the realio dealio?” Jimin lets the questions flood out of his mouth at an overwhelming pace.

“First off, who says ‘realio dealio’? What century are you from?” Taehyung scoffs. “To answer all your other questions, I bottomed, he was amazing and we spoke about it afterwards and it seems like we’re both looking for something more than just sex.”

“You misses out a question.”

“I did?”

“Yep. Do you think you’re in love with him?” Jimin asks again.

Taehyung glances down at his bare wrist before looking back up at Jimin. “Oh, is that the time already? We really should be heading to breakfast, we wouldn’t want everyone to leave without us!”

“Tae, you’re not even wearing a watch.” Jimin rolls his eyes, sighing as he watches Taehyung bolt out of the door. “Kim Taehyung I will tell your brothers about what happened last night if you don’t get your ass back here- oh, good morning Joon. Did you sleep well?” Jimin’s demeanour instantly turns sweet as he bumps into the older boy outside Taehyung’s bedroom.

“What did Tae do last night?”

“Went on his date of course, what else would he have done?” Jimin nervously laughs, trying his best to squeeze through the hallway passed Namjoon only to be blocked completely.

“Jiminie is there something you’re hiding?” Namjoon pushes.

“Of course not! You know me, an open book who never hides anything!”

“Somehow I’m not believing you.”

“Do you hear that? I think breakfast is screaming our names, lets head downstairs before Jin gets hangry.” Jimin uses his most convincing smile and thankfully Namjoon buys it and steps aside for him to get through.

Jimin sighs in relief and runs away, thankful for the out since he doesn’t feel like being murdered at the hands of his best friend today. He’s met with a deathly glare from the boy instead as he throws him a sheepish smile, it’s not that he let anything slip about what Taehyung did to finish his date. Although Namjoon wasn’t naive and probably knew exactly what Jimin was referring to, he can only hope and pray he doesn’t bring up anything at breakfast.

“So, Tae, how did your date go?” Jin asked between bites of fruit.

“It was amazing. Jungkook is such a sweetheart, he treated me so well it’s like everything I’ve been looking for.” Taehyung gushes.

“Treat you well, did he?” Namjoon sniggers from the other end of the table.

“That’s what I said, yes,” Taehyung answers back, a little confused by the question.

“Is that why you weren’t home until almost two am?”

“Well we went for a walk on the beach afterwards, we didn’t want the night to end.”

“That walk must’ve been really eventful then.” Namjoon points his fork towards the mark on Taehyungs collarbone that was slightly showing since his shirt was slipping down his shoulder.

The younger coughs awkwardly as he covers himself up, face heating up from the stares he was receiving from his brothers and Hoseok, he kicks Jimin under the table since he was laughing at his misery. It was a good thing that his parents weren’t at the table with them since he would’ve been receiving a massive lecture by now, but by the way Jin was glaring at him he feels like he was going to get one anyway.

“Tae, please tell me you didn’t.” Jin pleads, trying desperately to hang onto the tiny shred of innocence he feels his baby brother still possessed.

“Okay, in my defence he is a total snack. No, wait he’s so beyond a snack, he is like a fifty-course meal.”

“Taehyung you had sex on the beach?! Do you know how dangerous that is let alone illegal! Have you got sand in places you shouldn’t? Do we need to get mom to find you a doctor?!” Jin panics, ready to fly out of his seat to track down their parents for help.

“NO!” Taehyung yells, apologising shortly afterwards to everyone else in the restaurant who stared at him from his sudden outburst. “We went to where he’s staying, some cute little beach cabin not too far away, I don’t have sand anywhere.”

“Was he good?” Hoseok asks after he’s finished chewing a piece of his pastry, receiving a slap from his boyfriend for asking the question.

“He was amazing-” Taehyung stops talking when said boy starts approaching their table, bright smile on his face as he looks at the elder.

Jungkook was a little confused when he’s met with three grinning faces, one angry glare and a flustered Taehyung, but he decided not to address the issue as he heads straight for where Taehyung was sitting to talk to him. “Morning.”

“Morning. Why are you here?” Taehyung asks, trying his best to act as casual as possible.

“Just wanted to see you before I have to work.” Jungkook laughs, loving the way Taehyung only became more flustered by his words. “Are you free tonight?”

Taehyung instantly nods his head, even though he knew full well he had made plans with his family to have to have dinner. Dinner could be rescheduled though, all that mattered right now was the fact Jungkook wanted to spend yet another night with him.

“Well, you can meet me at the beach then, say around eight?”

“Oh, are we doing another ‘fear killing’ session?” Taehyung says, not being able to conceal his disappointed pout.

Jungkook simply laughs, amused by the question. “No silly. I was going to set up a second date for you. If you wanted me too that is...”

“I’d love that!” Taehyung once again yells, this time with pure excitement.

“Perfect. So eight?”

“Eight it is, I’ll see you then.” Taehyung grins brightly which Jungkook quickly reciprocates.

After placing a quick kiss on Taehyungs lips, the younger walks off feeling satisfied with himself, leaving a furiously blushing Taheyung alone with his family.

“Okay, I’m not even mad anymore. You two are so adorable.” Jin gushes.

“You’re so red, are you trying to match your face with your new boyfriend’s hair?” Namjoon teases.

Taehyung groans, embarrassed by everything that had taken place in the last ten minutes. However, he can’t ignore the light feeling in his heart as he anticipates what Jungkook has planned for them for the night.

Taehyung doesn’t know how to dress for the date, he realised he never even asked Jungkook about what kind of thing they were doing so dressing for a mystery was challenging. In the end, he decides just to dress smart but comfortably, knowing that would fit basically anything that the younger could possibly be thinking of doing for the night.

Once Taehyung reaches their usual meeting spot his curiosity grows as he sees Jungkook calmly sitting on the sand looking out into the water. “Are you sure you’ve not called me here to just go in the water? I’m really not dressed for it if you have.”

Jungkook’s head snaps up with the sudden voice, a wide smile spreading across his face when he sees Taehyung looking down at him. “Hello to you too, beautiful.”

“Kookie I’m serious, we’re not going in the salty death trap are we?”

“I thought we were over you insulting the sea.” Jungkook laughs as he gets up from the sand and makes his way over to link a hand with Taehyung’s. “We’re not going in it though, I promise.”

“So where are we going?”

“You’ll see.”

Taehyung falls quiet and allows Jungkook to lead him across the beach, completely placing all of his trust into him. They don’t walk for long until they reach the intended place, Jungkook suddenly becoming flustered once they do. It was a small blanket laid out on the sand, a wine bottle with two glasses and a pot of strawberries placed in the centre.

“Okay, so this may not be much, but I heard the sky is really clear tonight so it’s a great night for stargazing and I thought I could set a little place up for us to look at the stars together. I’m sorry if it’s really cheesy, and my uncle may kill me for stealing some wine from his bar but-”

“It’s perfect.” Taehyung interrupts, not allowing the boy to ramble on and get himself more flustered.

“It is?”

“Of course. Nobody has ever done something so romantic for me, Kookie. Thank you.”

Jungkook swears his heart was about to stop because the smile he receives from the elder definitely had the capability of doing so. He leads Taehyung to sit down on the blanket, both of them squished together in the small space. Not that there were any complaints about the close proximity of their bodies, especially after what happened the night before. He opens the wine and hands a glass to the elder once it’s filled, the latter happily sipping and smiling when he tastes the familiar expensive wine taste.

“You got the wine I always order from the bar...” Taehyung voices out, a slight frown emerging when he remembers how expensive the bottle is.

“I didn’t want to make you drink cheap wine so I convinced Yoongi to hand me over a bottle, my uncle will scold me but it’ll be worth it.”

“What if he reduces your work pay as a punishment? You need that money.”

“Don’t worry about that, just enjoy the night.” Jungkook smiles before looking up at the night sky. “I think I can already see some constellations!”

Taehyung can’t help but giggle at how cute he was acting, getting all excited over all the different patterns he could make out of the clusters of stars. Jungkook looked beautiful like this, big eyes sparkling as the stars seemed to reflect in them, his childlike smile as he spoke giddily about what he thought the constellations were, his excited voice when he rambled about the stars twinkling.

“Be mine,” Taehyung said softly, the words slipping out of his mouth without him even meaning to allow them to escape. He immediately flushes red when Jungkook looks at him with a shocked expression. “I m-mean...”

“Do you really want me to?”

“What?”

“Be yours, Tae. Do you really want me to?” Jungkook asks in a small voice, an attempt to hide all the insecurities building up inside of him.

“Yes, I’d love nothing more than that.”

“Then I’m yours.” Jungkook shuffles a little closer, stopping immediately when he realises he was already pressed into Taehyung’s side.

Then they kiss, deep and passionate and full of all the emotions they held in their hearts. For the first time, Taehyung was seeing he didn’t need fancy restaurant dates or expensive gifts to enjoy a date. Sitting here on a cheap blanket, with a stolen bottle of wine and some average strawberries, all made him feel the best he’s ever felt. That was all because he had the company of Jungkook and no five-star restaurant would ever top that because to Taehyung this was completely priceless.
