Since Taehyung started his sessions with his therapist, things have definitely seemed to improved within him. But that still didn’t stop Jungkook from feeling anxiousness in his stomach every time he leaves him on his own within the apartment. Since both of their university classes have started back up he didn’t have much choice but to, and however much he tries he just can’t stop fearing the worst whenever he leaves.
It’s paranoia, and Jungkook knows that it is. Although he always returns to a heartwarming sight, Taehyung either taking a nap or working on some artwork which was what he was doing today when Jungkook came back from his early morning classes. He gives his boyfriend a bright smile as usual which always eases all of his worries, knowing that Taehyung was happy is all he really needed anyway.
“Whatcha working on?” Jungkook asks as he sets his bag and shoes to the side of the door and eagerly makes his way towards the bed where the elder was sitting cross-legged.
Taehyung looks back up from his sketchpad before pulling it up to his chest to hide it from Jungkook’s view. “Got set a ‘start of term refresher task’, I need to do a piece of art about my summer. But you can’t see it yet, it’s not finished!”
“Oh come on, not even a lil’ sneak preview for your biggest fan?” Jungkook pouts. He crawls onto the bed to be beside Taehyung, giving him the most convincing puppy eyes he could possibly manage.
“Uh, fine. You know I can’t resist those big eyes.” Taehyung sighs, setting the sketchpad back onto his lap so the younger could see what he was working on.
Drawn on the page was a beautiful moonlit ocean which initially shocked Jungkook, with two sketched out figures within it. “You drew the sea?” He asks, the confusion thick within his voice.
“Technically, yeah,” Taehyung says with a laugh. “I was thinking back on this summer, and I wanted to draw my happiest memory from it all. Every one I thought of was with you, obviously, but there’s one moment that stuck out from the others.”
“Our first kiss?”
“But it was in the sea... doesn’t it affect you to go back to all of that?”
“It did, but my therapist told me to start thinking about the positives instead of focusing on the fact I almost died, you know? So if I think back to the memory and focus on how much my heart almost exploded and how perfect your lips felt, I can forget the fact I almost died in the exact same spot a couple of weeks after that.” Taehyung smiles brightly as he speaks, picking up his pencil to get back to his drawing.
Jungkook leans forward to place a kiss on Taehyung’s temple, happiness blossoming within him from how far his boyfriend has come. “I’m so proud of you, you know that?”
“Oh stop, you can’t make me feel all mushy when I’m supposed to be focusing!”
“Sorry, sorry.” But Jungkook leans forward to kiss Taehyung’s cheek despite the elder’s previous words.
Taehyung turns his head, beckoning Jungkook forward in order to kiss him properly. He was already distracted so he might as well take advantage of it. “You don’t have classes tomorrow, right?”
“Nope, I’m free all day for cuddles and binge eating.”
“How about I take you out instead? We can do some shopping and then I’ll take you to dinner at my favourite restaurant.”
“You’re sounding like my sugar daddy again,” Jungkook laughs.
“Can’t you just let me spoil you without using that term?”
Taehyung rolls his eyes, landing a soft slap onto his boyfriend’s thigh as he tries to suppress a giggle. “So, is it a date?”
“Of course, I’d never say no to you. Just don’t spend too much on me, please.”
“I’m not promising anything, my baby deserves to be spoiled.” Taehyung smiles, leaning forward for another kiss.
“Now that is definitely sugar daddy lingo,” Jungkook whispers against the elder lips, laughing when he earns himself a harsh push on the shoulder which has him falling back onto the mattress.
“I’m not your sugar daddy! I’m just your boyfriend who loves to spoil you.”
“You’re so annoying.”
The apartment fills with giggles as the pair of them steal kisses from each other, Taehyung’s project completely forgotten about at the side of the bed. Things were finally getting back to normal for the couple, and both of them couldn’t be more thrilled that the bad memories are no longer the thing that rules over them.
