Through a Fox's Eyes

Chapter 15

"Don't call me that! I'm not Yoriana; I'm Yori Ichijo, not Yoriana!"

Kurama placed his hands on Yori's shoulders, "But, the bracelet… Don't you remember what happened?"

Yori looked down at the old gift on her wrist. "Of course I do… But that doesn't mean I'm Yoriana, alright? Please, Kurama… I'm not her, I am a human…"

"You don't know how to give up, do you? You and I are the same person."

"No we are not! Stop saying that!" Yori shouted, covering her ears.

"Yoria- I mean, Yori, what's happening?" Kurama asked, shaking her petite body slightly.

Yori looked up at him with fear and sadness in her eyes, "She won't stop saying that we are the same person! I don't want to listen to her anymore; I just want to go home!"

"She? You mean Yoriana is speaking to you?" Yori nodded her head. "This is strange… That has never occurred with Yoko and me," Kurama said, more to himself than to her.

"Don't mention that fox-hearted traitor around me, you simpleton!"

Yori winced, "She said not to mention that name around her. She hates him now…"

Kurama looked confused, "But Yoriana was in love with me, well Yoko, years ago?"

"You never came back to her after she became ruler like you promised."

"I see… I'm still not sure as to how she can be speaking to you. You were Yoriana less than a month ago…" Yori shot a glare at him. "Yes, I know, 'you are not her'."

"Yes she is!"

"Shut up!" Yori yelled as loud as she could. As the words left her mouth, the area surrounding them became increasingly brighter. Yori's eyes shut tightly from the bright light and then she grabbed Kurama's hands, "Kurama, what's going on?"

"I am not sure… Do not be frightened; I promise I'll be right here," Kurama answered back.

"Yeah, we've all heard that line, haven't we?" A third voice said.

"That has nothing to do with them. Take your anger out on me," a rougher fourth voice commented.

Jin's P.o.v.

"Wind Tornado Blast!" Jin yelled, sending dozens of Dandara soldiers flying everywhere. "Woo this sure is fun, don't ya think!?"

"Save some for us, ya hear!" Chu shouted to his comrade.

"Awh shove it where it hurts! I'm havin too much fun!"

"Shards of Winter!" They heard Toya yell before the ice demon came running over to them. "How many more are left?"

Yomi joined the demons, "Not too many, about five dozen before we are finished."

Toya nodded his head, "Alright, let's finish this up so Yusuke and the others won't have any problems."

"RIGHT!"

Yusuke's pov

"How are things going, Hiei?" Yusuke asked.

"They are nearly finished," Hiei stated.

Yusuke nodded his head before looking towards the direction Kurama ran off to. 'Join us soon, Kurama.'

"Alright, it's about time we started heading in," Yusuke directed. The four started running towards the castle.

Kuwabara looked over to Hiei, "Hey, shrimp! Has Kurama found Yoriana yet?"

"Hn," Hiei's jagan eye started to glow again. "Yes, you fool. He'll join us when he gets her out of here."

"Right, so let's worry about Tenzo for now!" Rensen yelled.

Yori's point of view

Yori slowly opened her eyes, adjusting them to the light, when she saw two figures standing in front of her and Kurama. One had long silver hair and silver clothing while the other had long platinum blond hair with a dark purple dress on.

"K-Kurama…" Yori whispered.

Kurama's eyes widened, "No, that is not possible!"

The male smirked, "You're right, it isn't possible. Isn't that right, Yoriana?" He said, slightly turning to face the girl next to him.

"Shut up! I don't want to see you anymore, Yoko!"

Yoko rolled his eyes. "But as you said, Suichi, this isn't possible. We're not in the real world at the moment. More or less, we are in the deepest parts of your mind."

"The deepest parts of our minds?" Kurama asked to which Yoko nodded and Yoriana crossed her arms. "But, how is Yoriana in Yori's mind? They were the same person less than a month ago."

"I believe you encountered a similar situation not too long ago," Yoko said.

Yori looked up at Kurama, "Is he talking about the Sensui case you told me about?"

"I believe so," Kurama said to Yori. Turning back to Yoko, he asked, "Are you speaking of Sensui having multiple personalities?"

"Indeed. It is not entirely the same, but for the sake of scarce time, it's the same."

Yori squeezed Kurama's hand a little. "Why are you two speaking to us now?"

Yoko smirked, "It seems Yoriana can't let you live your own life. I'm here to put a stop to it."

"Her own life? We are the same person so I don't see why I can't barge in whenever I please!" Yoriana said, turning away.

"I understand that you're upset, but-"

The demoness turned back around and cut him off, "Upset? You haven't seen upset! Do you understand what you put me through, Yoko? You led me own! You told me that you loved me and that you would come back to me once I became ruler! You never came back to me!"

"Why do you think that is?" Yoko asked plainly.

Tears began to form in Yoriana's eyes, "B-Because you never loved me at all! You lied to me, Yoko Kurama!" The princess fell to the ground, wrapping her arms around her torso as the tears slowly fell down her cheeks.

Yoko kneeled beside her and placed a hand on her back. "Allow me to explain myself. I never lied to you, my princess." Yoriana looked up at him with confusion and anger in her eyes. "I told you I would return to you once you became ruler and once you made Endona a peaceful place with no war. I wanted you to stay the loving, beautiful, caring princess you always were, not a cold, spiteful lady. You changed, princess, you became someone opposite of who I fell in love with."

Yoriana held out her hands and looked down at them, "I-I did this…? It's my fault?"

"No, it's not your fault," Yoko said, taking her hands into his own. "I left you alone. It is my fault that you changed your ways, and I apologize for everything I did and all the pain I caused you." Placing a hand on her cheek, he looked at Yoriana, "Please accept my apology and come with me; we can live our lives together. Will you come with me?"

Yoriana looked at Yoko, all the hate now absent from her eyes, and smiled kindly, "Yes, Yoko, of course I'll come with you…" She wrapped her arms around his neck and his around her waist. "I love you…"

"I love you, Yoriana." They pulled away after a few moments and smiled at each other again.

Yori looked up at Kurama and smiled, "They're finally happy again…"

"Indeed, they are," he smiled back, squeezing her hand lightly.

Yoko and Yoriana stood up and turned back to Yori and Kurama. Smiling, Yoriana said, "I believe now is the time for us to say farewell…"

Yoko nodded, "Yes, you have a fight to attend, Suichi."

"That's right; we do have to get back. It was nice seeing you in a different perspective, Yoko."

Yoko and Yoriana smiled and turned around to leave.

"Ah, wait a moment!" Yori yelled. The two turned back around and Yori ran over to them. "I believe this is yours, Yoriana," she said, taking the bracelet off of her wrist and handing it to the princess.

Smiling, Yoriana looked down at the girl, "Thank you. I'll leave something with you as well." Yoriana placed her fingertip on Yori's forehead and it began to glow red.

"What are you doing?" Kurama asked, traces of worry lingering in his voice.

"Do not fret. I am transferring my demon powers to her; I no longer need them." The red light began to die down and Yoriana stepped back. "I trust you'll know when to use them. Farwell, you two…"

Yoko and Yoriana walked away and the brilliant white light Yori had grown accustomed to faded away.

Yori and Kurama found themselves back in the garden once the light died down. Standing up, Kurama offered Yori a hand and helped the girl up.

"I must go to the fight with Tenzo now. Because you are not an experienced fighter, you have to stay here where you will be safe."

Yori's eyes filled with worry, "But, Kurama!"

"No, you have to stay here. I can't risk you getting injured or worse…" Kurama murmured.

"Are you worried about me?" Yori asked, slightly smiling.

Kurama looked at her with complete seriousness, "I have been worrying about you since the moment we met…"

Squeezing his hand tightly, Yori looked back at him, "Oh alright, but if I find out that you're in trouble, I'm going to kick your ass…" She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, "Please stay safe…"

"Very well," Kurama said, hugging her back. After a few moments, the two pulled apart. "I will be back soon." Kurama smiled at her before running out of the garden to go aid his friends.
