Bring Me to Life

The Grim Graveyard

"Oh, bloody hell!" Peggy yelled out as she ran into another dead end.

"I don't know what I can do" Peggy turned down another path, "Still, I know, I've got to try"

Peggy suddenly stopped as she realized that she was going about this all wrong. She picked up her wand to eye level and closed her eyes. The young girl imagined the trophy, Harry Potter, Fleur Delacour, Viktor Krum, and Cedric. Behind her eyelids, she saw a dark violet color shining through. Peggy opened her eyes and smiled to the light. The bulb of light flickered around as if waiting impatiently for Peggy's next command.

Suddenly, the bulb perked up and went down a path. Peggy gasped as she quickly ran after it, trying to keep in track with the small flash of light. Her lungs burned as hope filled her heart as she prayed that the bulb was finding Cedric and not anyone else. All she really wanted was to find the Cup, replace it, and then get out of the maze. The silence and darkness of it all was so loud that it hurt Peggy's ears and she hoped that Cedric was able to manage to get passed this horrible experience.

Peggy yelled out, "Find the trophy! Find Cedric!"

"Hurry!" Peggy panted, "I fear we don't have much time left!"

The dark light turned down a path and suddenly stopped as the fake trophy sat there, glittering with a false promise. Peggy only took a millisecond to smile before a crushing sound happened behind the trophy as she noticed both Cedric and Harry were running at full speed toward the trophy. Peggy gasped as she ran as fast as her rubbery legs could go toward the trophy in hopes that she will be there on time. Once she came close enough, she had not enough time to deactivate it as Peggy reached out and grabbed a hold of the trophy making her get sucked up into wherever the portkey was meant to go.

Peggy landed with a thud as she let out a couple of gasps into the lawn, "Thank God"

"Peggy?" A voice replied, making her blood run cold.

"What?" Harry picked up his head and looked over to her, "Why is she here?"

Peggy slowly got up as she felt her heart beating out of her chest, panic seized her as she realized that she had failed. Cedric furrowed his brow at her but still gave her a light smile through his hair. Peggy was at a loss of words as she didn't know what else to do as of this point.

Harry let out a painful scream as he doubled over and held onto his forehead. Cedric quickly forgot about Peggy and ran over to him as he tried to assess what was wrong with the teenager.

Harry yelled out, "Get back to the Cup! Now, both of you!"

"Peggy, get behind me!" Cedric commanded as he threw himself in front of Peggy as he raised up his wand, "Who are you and what do you want?"

Cedric's back was blocking Peggy's view as she grabbed onto his shirt and went onto tiptoes to peek over his shoulder.

A flash of green light made her suddenly gasp as she yelled out, "CEDRIC!"

"Out of fear, not loyalty" was the next thing she heard, "Still, you have proven yourself useful these past few months, Wormtail"

Peggy slowly picked up her head as she felt like she was hit by a brick wall. She grunted as she cupped her head and felt both light-headed and nauseated at the same time. Her vision slowly started to come back as she noticed a couple of familiar Death Eaters in their normal cloaks. Her gasp was lodged in her throat as she recognized the power and terror of the Lord Voldemort as he waved his arm around Wormtail's missing hand. She almost felt like this was all a dream as she never truly believed that the Dark Lord would ever come back. Peggy sat up into a sitting position, placing her hand down onto the grass only for it to be in the hand of someone else's, making Peggy freeze in her place.

"Thank you, master" Wormtail smiled from ear to ear, "Thank you"

Peggy willed herself to look down only for her mouth to drop open and tears form in her eyes. She cupped her mouth as she noticed Cedric's dead eyes staring up into the distance. The boy that she knew and loved was laying right next to her, lifeless and looked nearly unrecognizable without a smile on his face. With a shaky hand, Peggy touched the top of his hair and smoothed it down his face, hoping he would blink and smile at her like he did when he first wakes up in the secret room they now share. Instead, Peggy only felt Cedric's cold skin on top of her soft and fragile hand.

Peggy whispered out, "Cedric"

A tsking sound came from up above her as a foot with long nails pressed onto Cedric's cheek. Peggy gasped and looked up to see Voldemort standing right above her with a pout on his lips. He let out an exaggerated sigh and a chuckle almost escaped his lips as he looked over to Peggy, knowing who her parents were. Peggy slowly brought her other hand to the handle of her wand as he smiled down to her like as if they were old friends.

"Such a handsome boy"

Peggy was about to wave her hand out and send Voldemort away from Cedric when Harry's voice was heard in the distance, "Don't touch him!"

"Harry. l'd almost forgotten you were here. Standing on the bones of my father. Yeah. l'd introduce you" Voldemort glided over to Harry who was stuck on a statue, "but word has it you're almost as famous as me these days. The boy who lived"

"How lies have fed your legend, Harry. Shall l reveal what really happened that night 13 years ago? Shall l divulge how I truly lost my powers? Yes, shall l? lt was love. You see, when dear, sweet Lily Potter gave her life for her only son" Voldemort explained as he looked around his audience, even to Peggy who quickly looked down to Cedric's body, "she provided the ultimate protection"

"l could not touch him. lt was old magic. Something l should have foreseen. But no matter, no matter. Things have changed. l can touch you" Peggy looked up to see Voldemort moving closer to Harry as he waved a finger over his scar, "now"

Harry let out a scream as agonizing as a torture curse, making some Death Eaters, even Peggy's uncle smile. The only person who didn't seem to be enjoying Harry's torture was Peggy as she stared in horror at the scene unfolding. She didn't know what to do as she wanted to help Harry but felt too scared to do anything to challenge the Dark Lord.

She slowly glanced back down to Cedric's face as she almost felt his promises shatter into a million pieces. Could she really go back to darkness now after what happened between her and Cedric?

"I'm sorry for everything, Cedric" Peggy said in a small, weak voice.

She sniffed as she forced herself to look up and watch as Harry continued to scream as she tried to bring back the old feelings of dark rebellion.

"I was born to be a Death Eater" she said to her now dead boyfriend.
