Dragon Slayer Firebolt

I let out a content sigh as I sat on Laxus' lap with my back resting against his chest. He had his back against a tree with his arms wrapped around my abdomen and his head leaning on my shoulder. I felt and heard Laxus let out a deep chuckle.

"Someone sounds happy." I heard him mutter. I shivered as I felt him kiss the side of my neck.

I couldn't help but smile but it quickly vanished when reality came crashing to my thoughts. Laxus was still exiled…

"You know once we leave Tenrou Island, you're going to have to go back into exile." I said softly.

I felt Laxus go tense, he knew I was right. "I'll think of something. The old man might be stubborn but he's not heartless." Laxus assured.

"Mmm, gramps just might rejoice hearing about this. He told me a while back that he always wondered if you would ever find someone who could tolerate you." I said chuckling while I heard Laxus let out an annoyed groan.

"Of course he would." Laxus muttered. That's when I felt this ominous presence and it definitely felt evil.

I suddenly stood up which alarmed Laxus, "Vez, what's wrong?" He asked as he stood up.

"Don't you feel that?" I asked, not taking my eyes off the sky.

Laxus stopped and focused for a while then his muscles went rigid.

"What the hell is that?" Laxus questioned under his breath.

"I don't know but it's not good. We need to head back to base camp!" I said urgently as I ran back with Laxus next to me.

A few minutes, later we made it back to base camp with the rest of the members gathered around. They must have felt the strange presence too.

"Gramps!" I yelled to our guild master.

"You two feel it as well." Gramps stated as Laxus and I stopped in front of him.

"I have chills going down my spine. What could be causing this?" Elfman asked looking at the sky.

"I don-" Gramps was interrupted when a piercing loud roar was sounded that made the non-Dragon Slayers clutch their ears. Mine, Wendy's, Gajeel's, and Natsu's eyes were wide. We recognized that sound, the sound of a Dragon's roar.

"No way, that sound…" Wendy drawled off as her body shook.

"Wendy, what's wrong?" Carla asked concerned.

"I never thought I'd hear that sound again…" Gajeel added.

"Wait, what's going on? You guys mind explaining!?" Elfman yelled.

"There's no doubt in my mind. That was the roar of a Dragon." I stated.

"A Dragon!?" Everyone yelled with their eyes wide.

"But that roar sounded so mean, Grandeeney's roars never sounded like that." Wendy stated.

"Neither did Igneel's." Natsu informed.

"Same with Metalicana." Gajeel added.

"That's because we're dealing with a pure evil dragon that only seeks to kill and destroy." I turned around to see Gildarts and Cana emerge from the forest.

"Gildarts, you sound as if you know who this dragon is." Gramps asked interested.

"I do, I heard the roar once before. That's the roar of Acnologia the Black Dragon." As if on cue the roar sounded again and a large gust of wind hit us, causing many of us trying to stay grounded.

"Where did that come from!?" I heard Bickslow yell.

"You've gotta be kidding me! His wings caused this much wind?!" Gajeel yelled as he shielded Levy from the wind.

"This isn't good! Gramps we gotta evacuate the island now!" I yelled as I stared at the gigantic dragon that stood well above the tree line.

Acnologia was certainly menacing looking. His top half scales were black with blue markings on him while he had a white scaled underbelly, he had cold blue eyes and the inside of his mouth was the same shade of blue.

"What!? Come on Vez, this is what Igneel trained us for! To slay dragons!" Natsu argued.

"Natsu, don't argue with me!" Natsu was taken aback at how harshly I yelled at him.

"Do you not feel that power coming off from that thing!? We have no chance in hell in beating that! Gildarts couldn't beat it, what makes you think you can!?" I yelled, as I stormed over to my brother and grabbed him by his scarf.

"She's right kid, remember what I told you? There are times to fight and times to retreat. This is one of those times to retreat." Gildarts advised Natsu.

"Get back to the ship now! I don't want any arguing!" Gramps ordered us.

That's when I noticed Gramps was facing away from us as if he was...oh no!

"No way, you're staying behind!? That's suicide!" Gray yelled at Gramps.

"Erza, Vez get everyone moving to the ship." Gramps ordered.

Erza and I shared a pain look before nodding. "Alright, you heard the master! Everyone back to the ship!" Erza yelled, many of the members began running but they were very hesitant in doing so.

"No way, I'm not leaving you behind Gramps!" Natsu yelled.

"Natsu, he's the guild master! For once in your life, listen to him!" I yelled.

Natsu looked extremely pissed off but he calmed down after seeing the fear and sadness on my face. He just realized that I didn't want to leave Gramps behind but orders were orders.

"Come on brat, move it!" I saw Laxus grab Natsu by the scarf and started to pull him.

With a heavy heart, I ran after Laxus and I noticed a tear running down his cheek. Out of all of us, this had to be the hardest moment for Laxus. He's leaving his grandfather behind, his family, the one that raised him.

I felt a tear fall down my face but I quickly wiped it away with my arm. There wasn't anytime for crying, we had to get everyone on the ship! Well that was the plan until we heard Gramps screaming in pain. That made all of us stop dead in our tracks.

None of us could move, we were all frozen in fear of not only Acnologia but also the fear of having Gramps die because of us.

"Aaahh! I can't take this anymore! What kind of guild doesn't stand by their guild master at a time like this!?" Natsu yelled at us.

A few members held their heads in shame, "I don't care what you guys say! I'm heading back to help Gramps!" Natsu yelled and ran back.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but Natsu's right! We can't call ourselves part of Fairy Tail while our master is out there risking his life!" Gray agreed and he too went after Natsu and slowly every guild member agreed and went after them.

I finally agreed in my thoughts to follow but as soon as I went to run I felt someone grab my wrist. I looked back and saw Laxus holding me back.

"Laxus, don't you dare tell me to go to the ship. I won't do it!" I warned as I glared at him.

I was surprised when Laxus suddenly pulled me to him and crashed his lips onto mine. The heated kiss only lasted for a few seconds until Laxus pulled away.

"Just in case we don't make it, I need to say this. I love you." Laxus said as he stared into my eyes.

"I love you too." I saw joy in Laxus' eyes hearing those words before he gave one final chaste kiss on the lips.

"Let's go." He said as we both took off to catch up with the others.

"Tyrus!" I yelled out, and seconds later I felt myself get lifted off of the ground.

My face formed into a serious one, "We gotta stop that dragon!"

"Aye sir!" Tyrus yelled and flapped his wings to gain more speed.

We quickly approached where Acnologia was towering over the tree lines. I could see Natsu was now climbing onto his arm.

"Tyrus, drop me on the dragon's head and grab Gramps!" I ordered.

Tyrus nodded, "Aye! Be careful Vez!" With that Tyrus released me.

"Natsu, Vez!" I heard Gramps yell.

"Give us our Master back!" Natsu yelled.

I landed on Acnologia's head in a crouched position. Acnologia let out a roar and started to shake his head and arm to try and get us off. I clung onto the scales so I wouldn't be shook off.

"Charge!" I heard Erza yell, followed by the rest of the guilds shouts.

Everyone started to cast their spells and hit Acnologia, but it looked like it wasn't doing much. It makes sense though, only Dragon Slayer Magic is strong enough to pierce through a dragon's scales and deal damage.

"Fire Dragon's…!" I chanted and held up my hand as fire engulfed it and formed into claws.

"Crushing Fang!" I lunged over to Acnologia's right eye and slashed down.

I let out a smirk seeing a faint trickle of blood go down his eye. I lost my smirk when I heard an angry growl come from Acnologia. He did not like the fact that I just hurt him. He let out a powerful roar that flung me and everyone else far away.

I felt my back smack into the dirt and pain shot through my body. I skidded against the ground until I finally came to a stop. I clinched one eye from the pain and looked up just as Acnologia flew back into the air.

Why didn't he attack from the air this entire time? He would have had the advantage and we wouldn't have been able to reach him. Unless...he's been toying with us this entire time, but now he's planning on finishing it.

My eyes widen seeing Acnologia take a deep breath, "It's a breath attack!" Gajeel yelled.

"Is it planning on blasting the whole island away?!" Cana exclaimed in shock.

"Everyone with defensive magic, put all the power you have left in it!" Erza ordered.

That's when my mind clicked as everyone started to scramble. Fairy Sphere, the Ultimate Protection spell. I kept forgetting I had this spell now.

"Wait, hold on!" Everyone stopped in their tracks and looked at me, "I have an idea. I can cast a huge protection spell but not one of the size of this island. If we all combine our magic power into one I might be able to." I informed.

"What? Since when do you have a defensive spell, Vez?" Levy asked confused.

"That's right, Vez used a protection spell earlier to save Laxus from an attack. The shield didn't even break from Hades' attack." Lucy backed up.

"It's worth a shot! Everyone, join your power together as one!" Gray ordered.

One by one, we all started to hold hands in a circle. I was holding hands with Natsu on my right and Erza to my left. I saw Laxus from across me and we both shared a look before he sent me a reassuring small smile. I felt everyone's magic power start to gather and I let out a breath as I started to get ready to cast the spell.

"I knew I was right to entrust you with Fairy Sphere. I'll aid you in protecting Fairy Tail." My eyes widen hearing the familiar voice that belonged to First Master Mavis.

That's when I felt a power surge go through me and then a blinding light erupted from the circle and then that's when everything blacked out.
