My Other Half 2: Healing Hearts

† Fourteen †

I wanted to laugh, not because of the situation, but because of his ridiculous suicide attempt. He looked at me, confused of my reaction and asked "why are you smiling?"

I just shook my head and said "nothing" unbeknownst to him, I know better that he's just making it up and just want to think. I climb and stood on the balustrades a meter beside him.

The soft gush of the breeze hit my skin as I inhaled the cold scent, looking at the blue sky nearing sunset.

"You know what, Kou-nii?" I said, looking at the horizon "I love sunsets... But I love the blue sky more..."

I looked at him and smiled so sweetly, saying "Because they remind me that I'm still alive... That there's still full of life before me and of the time I was with the man I fell inlove with..."

Images and memories of Leo and Satran-nii before everything came to worst flashed before me. "Yumi-chan..??" I heard Kou-nii called to me, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked at him and he gestured, pointing right below his blue eye and sliding the finger down his cheek. By instinct, I quickly touched mine and I realised I'm crying just then.

He didn't seemed bothered by it nor he asked questions, seeming like he already know why. "I'm sorry for being emotional.." I said, wipping off the tears staining my face.

"It's fine.." Kou-nii said, jumping back down from the balustrades and landing gracefully on the floor. "Kou-nii..." I said, stopping him from his tracks.

He looked back at me, urging me to continue. "Ever since I was a child, I was olways told by my father that 'behind every smiles is an untold story and there is always a reason why every one is the way they are now' "

"I always think that before I judge someone.. Because in this world, not everyone is made perfect and pure.. All of us have our own imperfections" I smiled sincerely at him "that's why I will always accept you whoever or what ever you are.."

"Because I'm your brother..??" he sckered "we're not even blood related-"

"But did I ever treated you any different??"

"...No..."

"That's because you're very important here in my heart" I reach on my heart "you and all of our brothers did"

"Is this the reason why all of them change just because of you??" he bowed his head and chuckled "Now I understand"

He look up and hesitantly reached out a hand for me before looking away. Just like him, I also hesitantly took his hand.

Just then, images suddenly flashed before me and that's when I knew why Kou-nii hesitantly reached his hand for me. It's because I'll be able to look through his memories any time we made contact...

.

"N-NO!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY CHILD- NOOOOOOO!! MY CHILD!!" a middle aged womanas she held her now dead 6 year old child, bathe in it's own blood, in her arms.

Two soldiers, carrying huge hatchets went closer the crying woman. One of them pulled her hair back while the other stood before her and with one swift movement..

SLASH!!

A beautiful orphan with blonde hair and blue eyes who looked exactly like the younger version of Kou was suddenly awaken from his deep sleep.

He was inside the sewer indicating he had been living there for as long as he can remember. Kou rubbed his eyes and turned, looking out the blue sky from the small entrance of the sewer.

However, whay he sees is not the sky he adore. Instead, he was met with a deep red liquid pouring down from the said small entrance. He reached out and touched the liquid.

"???" He was confused of what the metalic smelled thing is so he decided to climb up and look out the source of the 'thing'. However, what he sees is two men drnking with the same red liquid painted on their chests.

One was laughing while the other is doing something sick on the headless body which appears to be a woman. Kou didn't know why but the scene before him shook him to the core.

"Oh what's this??" One of the men said, noticing Kou from the sewer. The man walk towards him and before he could react, he was suddenly pulled out of the place he called home.

The other went closer and also examine his face. "He's a preety child don't you think??" He said, not taking his eyes off Kou "I have an idea..."

The scene changes in a place that looks a lot like the orphange seen on Yuma and Ruki's memories where children all happily play around the hallways.

Kou had never been so happy before. He had better clothes, food and shelter. But most of all, he met a lot of friends like Yuma and Azusa.

However, his happy days - what he call - were as short lived as he first came in the orphanage. The higher ups have seen his good looks and not long before he knew it, his life have fallen down to the pits of hell

And was used as entertainment for those sick aristocrats..

.

I gasped, seeing those memories. The horrible tortures, the blood curdling screams of agony and cries of mercy from my blonde brother together with Ruki-nii's made me want to just stop it now.

Without thinking, I pulled my hand out as hard as I can to free myself. However, reality finally hit me and I was still standing on the metal balustrades.

I was stunned as the world seems to stop and lost my balance, falling backwards down in which my doom awaits..

.

"YUMIKOOOO!!"

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

"Is this the end??" I thought to myself as I felt as if I'm floating on air "is this what it feels like dying"

Everything feels cold. Everything seems silent. Everthing seems nothing...

.

"Wake up, little cutie..."

.

"H-huh??"

.

"I said wake up, you idiot"

.

"W-who are you??"

.

"I'm your-"

.

"You don't sound like one..."

.

"Da fuq?! Don't cha understand what am sayin' or are all fuckin' Sakamaki's a-?!"

.

"Stop it, **** "

.

"Kill joy..."

.

"U-umm... Who are you people and where am I ...?"

.

"Oh, where are my manners.. Well for now, I can't say it yet but you'll know... Soon"

.

"Yeah!! So wake up now ya little cutie... Those bastards need the hell out of ya..."

.

.

.

.

.

"Yumiko, wake up!!" I heard a very familiar voices call out my name. Slowly, I open my eyes and what met me was the faces of my 10 vampire brothers + 1 girl, worried over me.

We were still at the rooftop and the sun is almost setting, painting the sky in an orangish hue and the temperature's dropping to the cold breeze of the night.

"I'm glad you're safe..." the two of the Sakamaki triplets, Aya-nii and Laito-nii, said while smiling in unison.

The two best friends, Shu-nii and Yuma-nii, sighed in relief "glad that you're safe..."

"YOU HAD US WORRIED!! DON'T YOU KNOW THAT?!!" my two over-protective brothers, Suba-nii and Kana-nii tackled me to a bone crushing hug.

I wheezed "c-can't breathe..." and suddenly released me when they realized I'm choking on air. They Appologized and laughed.

"The next time that you did a stunt like that, I will make sure to give you a proper punishment for such a deplorable behavior!!" the two scholars of the family, Reiji-nii and Ruki-nii, fumed "Geez!!"

My best friend, Yui, and Azu-nii just merely smiled saying "Don't push yourself too hard, kay??"

I nodded and finally, I looked up and to meet eye to eye the last person remaining...

.

"Kou-nii"

.

He knelt down slowly in front of me, before pulling me close and enveloped me in a warm hug..

.

"I'm sorry I misjudged you..."

.

I smiled and hugged him back, feeling the warmth of his embrace. However, right on the rooftop of the next building across us, I was met with a certain familiar person from afar.

Blonde hair, bright red eyes and his signature smirk fade into a warm smile as he look at me straight in the eyes. That's when I knew it was him..

.

.

.

The person I both hated and loved and the one who made into who I am now..

.

Satran-ni....
