Felix saw as his only friends were all mostly teary-eyed as the bus approached the stop. Today is the day he leaves for boot camp, then later to fight in the wars. Felix grew up with these special people, and together they created a special club. The club met in a large, hollow tree, which gave them the name, The Tree Friends. It was mostly made up of homeless children, all who have either lost their parents or ran from home to stay away from their parents. Each member was special to Felix, and he loved every single one of them.

Felix gave a hug goodbye to every friend, all of whom he's known for years and have became his close friend.

His best friend was Thomas, a young, bleach-blond haired boy who wore a yellow track suit. His girlfriend, Jessica, was a very happy girl, who laughed at everything was fond of bunnies, and to show her love for both them and Thomas, she sewed yellows ears on the hood of his track suit. The girls of the club thought he looked "cuddly", and Felix jokingly called him “Cuddles.”

Felix almost refused but, eventually, hugged his angry cousin, an orange-haired boy named Hector. Hector was always angry, but not just because; he lost his self confidence years ago when, after a freak accident, he lost his hands and became an amputee. But, after his cousin pleaded over and over, he ultimatly joined the club, where he fell in love with a young, blue-haired girl named Laura, who grew beautiful flowers alnd always kept one in her hair.

The bus turned the corner, and it started to quickly approach the bus stop.

Felix dropped his bag, then turned around, and his green emerald eyes met two ruby-colored eyes, which were barely beautiful as they were bloodshot and streaming with tears. They belonged to a young girl with rows of white snow in her blood red hair, named Felicia, who hated her real name, so she went by the name “Flaky”. Felix let out his arms, and Flaky soon ran straight into them, crying directly into his chest. They were friends for years, since he found her in an empty dumpster, alone and crying as she was beaten, bruised and nearly dead from blood loss. The two stood there, for what seemed like an eternity, with Flaky crying harder and harder as the bus stopped at the stop.

"Felix... please don't forget about me..." Flaky uttered, as she continued to hiccup because of her crying.

"Never. I'll never forget you. I'll come back soon and hug you just like this. I promise."

She looked up and stared into his eyes.

"Promise me this too. Promise me you won't cry like me. I'm not brave and strong like you, and I don't want you to prove me wrong."

"Yes. I promise."

Thomas spoke up."There's the bus."

Felix picked up his bags, and turned around. "You guys... I'll be thinking about you. And every moment will be hard without you. I love you all."

He then boarded the bus, overhearing the sobs of the girls. Especially Flaky. He sat at the back of the bus, so he can see them. The bus then took off... Flaky couldn't bare it. She took off running towards the bus, and it sped up. Faster and faster, till she soon gave up and fell to the floor. Her knees bent, horizontal to the floor, and she weeped more and more. Coming soon afterwards, her friend Thomas, who came to comfort her. He looked up and saw that Felix was still seeing them, and he waved goodbye. Felix did the same. Then, he turned around, brought his bag to his face...

And broke his promise…

cristalyn enriquez: I love the plot of the story and the way how the author describe each character, especialy Elias he's so hot!. I've red this story 4 times and I never get tired of it😊. but I think you must practice your grammar and avoid using the same word over and over. like the word "wonder",because it's an...

Sara Grover: Being that this is your first story and I assume first draft, a lot of little mistakes are common, we all have made them; little things like your instead of you're, missed capitalization, missing punctuation, etc. As for the plot, I have a lot of questions and I did leave comments on certain sect...

Bri Hoffer: I couldn't put it down!! The characters are all incredibly likable, and it's so descriptive you can see, smell, and feel thier surroundings. Great story, and very well written. I cannot wait for follow up stories. there were a few grammatical errors, but nothing that I could move right over.

John Smith: This is what Sci Fi is all about. Reads like early Heinlein. In the style of Space Cadets. No esoteric problems..but good ol blaster and space action with a host of relatable characters

Alexis Dredd Zarcal: Overall, it's a rather thrilling piece, merging superstition, psychology, slice of life, and the usual Japanese risque fare. All the elements have rhyme and reason in being placed together. The respective background stories of the characters involved so far also give a sense of flair and thrill.I'...

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...

Dina Husseini: It was a great hook. I do not like reading scifi because they end up being like all the rest but this one kept me wanting more.
