Romeo and Juliet with a Blinny twist

Act XXX

.In the great hall, Harry, Ron and the other Gryffindors are sat talking. The Slytherins are all sat on their tables talking as well, both sides glaring at each other occasionally. Coming down for breakfast are Draco and Hermione, who converse about themselves with each other to the great hall. As they get to the entrance they stop receiving death glares. Draco from Ron and Harry and Hermione from Daphne and Astoria.

The two of them then froze looking at each other for a second before they both went to their tables. As they both sat down they were both jumped on by their friends.

“What was that about?” Ron asked Hermione harshly who gulped before responding.

“Nothing Ron, we were just walking,” Hermione replied the truth and Harry scoffed.

“I’m serious Hermione, what was he doing?” Ron asked again and she shook her head.

“What I just told you, Ron, we were just talking!” Hermione replied feeling hurt that Ron didn’t believe her first time, and a little annoyed that he was still acting like Draco was the enemy when he wasn’t as bad as they thought. Hermione liked him, a lot.

“Well, if you won’t tell me I’ll find out for myself,” Ron replied and got up. Hermione looked at him worried as he quickly climbed over the Gryffindor table looking over to Draco and his friends.

“Oi! Malfoy!” Ron yelled as the great hall began to quiet to listen and look.

“What were you saying to Hermione when you both came in the great hall?” He asked looking right at Draco who had a frown on his face.

“It’s none of your business Weasley. Quite frankly, I don’t have to tell an idiot like you anything that I say to Hermione.” Draco replied with a smirk that made his friends and some of the older Slytherins laugh. Ron scowled at Draco breathing in and out deeply and quickly. Hermione tapped Ron’s arm to get his attention before speaking.

“Just sit back down Ron.” She said but he shook his head.

“No,” Ron said through a clenched jaw.

“Do as she says, Weasley. You usually do listen to people because you’re so stupid.” Draco said with a sly tone that made Ron snap as he yelled out and clambered over the Slytherin table to grab Draco by the scuff of his neck and drag him over the table.

“RON!” Hermione screamed as she and Harry rushed over to the two who were now on the floor. Ron was throwing punches at Draco who was trying to fight back but failed. Around them, people were chatting ‘fight’ or ‘go on Ron’ that encouraged Ron to go on. Draco yelled out in pain a little with blood coming from his nose. While this was going on, Blaise had entered the room on his own to get some breakfast for him and Ginny.

He frowned when he saw the crowd near the Slytherin table and walked over to it slowly.

“BLAISE!” Hermione called to him. He jerked his head to her and then strode over.

“What’s wrong?” He asked Hermione who was worked up with worry.

“Ron and Draco are fighting!” She exclaimed and Blaise’s eyes went wide. He then turned to the crown and started to fight his way through to get to the centre. There he saw Draco pinned on the floor by Ron who was punching him.

Blaise grabbed Ron’s arm and yanked him off Draco.

“GET OFF HIM WEASLEY!” He yelled and without thinking, Blaise punched Ron making him fall back. Everyone watching gasped and started to mutter. Blaise felt their judgemental eyes burn into him. In an attempt to shrug it off he turned to his injured friend on the floor.

“Are you okay?” He asked offering his hand to help him up. Draco however just stared at him with disappointment.

“Where were you?” He asked Blaise who stuttered a few ‘errs’ and ‘umms’. Draco shook his head at him.

“You’re supposed to be my mate!” He yelled bitterly. Blaise winced at his voice.

“I’m so sorry.” He apologised honestly to Draco.

Everyone’s eyes then went to Draco as he shook his head slowly again.

“Curse you Blaise Zabini.” Draco began then turned to Ron.

“You too Weasley.” Draco spat making Ron avert his gaze in shame.

“Curse both of you and your families. BOTH OF THEM!” Draco cursed yelling. Blaise started to back away, the crowd parting for him and then took off running with Draco’s words ringing in his ears as he left the great hall.
