“It’s more of a knee, and not a kick. Try it like this”, I said to the girls of BLACKPINK, teaching them the dance for their upcoming performance.
“Are you sure?“, Jennie questioned.
“Jennie, I choreographed this dance. I know how it goes”, I replied, walking to the speakers and playing the music. I began watching them doing the dance I had been teaching them. As they danced, the door to the studio opened, and I turned to see the CEO enter the room. I immediately bowed to her.
“Annyeonghaseyo. I didn’t expect to see you today”, I said.
“Yes, well, I would like to speak with you, if you’re not busy”, she said.
“Of course. Girls, take five”
I followed her into the hall and she walked down to the old practice room of BIGBANG.
“As you know, being staff of the company, BIGBANG is making their comeback in April at Coachella. And they need a choreographer. You are the most experienced choreographer we have”
“Are you asking me to choreograph some Coachella dances for BIGBANG?”
“You did so well with BLACKPINK last year. I think you would do well this year with BIGBANG”
“It would be great. But I’m not as good a choreographing dance for guys as I am for girls. I’ve tried helping my brother Matthew (from KARD) with his group, but some of the guys dances I just couldn’t choreograph as well as the girls”
“Thea, you’ve been through alot. I’m sure you can handle this. Although, we will need to get a new choreographer for the ladies...”
“I got that. I know the perfect person”
“Seems like you’ve got it all figured out”
“I do. Gamsahabnida (thank you)"
"Of course, the guys are in there now. If you would like to go introduce yourself. You don't have to start today. I understand you were in the middle of teaching the girls the dance. If you can get your new choreographer here tomorrow, you can start then"
I nodded, bowed and headed into the boys studio. They were in there, messing around. Seeing if they could still do their old dances. I recognized BANG BANG BANG and FANTASTIC BABY. When the door closed behind me, they all looked over at me. No one spoke for a second, then Jiyong walked over to me. He looked me up and down and smirked. I knew why. I was still in my dancing attire. Which was shorts and a sports bra. I probably should've grabbed my jacket but I didn't know I would be meeting these boys right now. Seung Hyun walked over to me and stuck out his hand.
"I'm Seung Hyun. You're...Thea right? Thea Kim? Jennie's sister", he said.
"Right. I didn't think you knew me"
"I've seen you around before. Ya know, before I was enlisted of course"
"Right. Well, I'm going to be your choreographer"
"For how long?", Daesung asked.
"Until you guys break up again, or I quit"
"Cool. So are we starting today or...?", Taeyang began.
"Ah, no. I'm actually working with my sister's group at the moment. But I'm getting them a new choreographer tomorrow. So we'll begin tomorrow. I should have at least four dances ready for us tomorrow"
"Four?! Are you sure?", Seung Huyn said, "You really shouldn't overwork yourself"
"Please. This is nothing. The dances I'm giving you, are dances I've been working on for a while. It's not like I'm choreographing four brand new dances. These ones I was going to use when I was going to work for Big Hit. I was gonna be the choreographer for BTS. But when Jennie told me she had got me a job working with BLACKPINK here, I decided to take this job instead. So all the original BTS dances have been on the back burner until I could find a place to use them. Now that I'm working with you guys, I get to dust them off and show 'em off"
"Alright. If you're sure you can handle us. You've seen our dances before I'm sure"
"I have. And I've memorized them. I can do the dance to any song of yours. Give a song, and I'll do the dance. Give me a time and place, and I challenge you to dance off", I said, shoting a sassy smirk towards Seung Hyun.
"Here and now"
"You're on"
"Daesung!"
"On it!", Daesung replied, heading over to the speakers, playing a song. I immediately recognized it as BANG BANG BANG.
"Now you three have to judge fairly on who did the dance better, okay?", I said. They nodded and I turned to Seung Hyun as we began dancing.
The song ended and we stopped dancing, both breathing heavily. I wasn't breathing as hevily as Seung Hyun, but still, heavy breaths could be heard from me.
"Well, I was asked to give my honset opinion, and I'm gonna have to give this on to Thea", Daesung said, walking over to me.
"Thank you Daesung. Now, if boys will excuse me, I have to get back to work", I smiled. I walked out of the studio and into the girls studio. When I walked in Jennie looked over at me.
"Did you go for a run or something?", she asked.
"Nope. Just had a little dance off", I replied, shrugging.
"With who. The CEO?"
NO! Seung Hyun"
"Wait. Like CHOI Seung Hyun? Of BIGBANG?", Rosie asked.
"YES! Now let's get back to practicing. I've gotta at least four dances ready for tomorrow and a new choreographer for you by tomorrow as well, luckily, I know the prefect person for that", I said, muttering the last bit under my breath. The girls still heard me though.
"Wait, you're leaving us?", Lisa asked.
"Why?", Jisoo asked.
"Because, the CEO wants me to work with BIGBANG on their comeback in April. Ya know, for Coachella and everything. But don't worry, I've just texted Kassie, a friend of mine from the New Zealand dance team I used to be on, and she's totally willing to come choreograph you. In fact, she's been looking for a new job"
"I can't believe we're gonna lose you!", Jennie whined, hugging me tightly.
"Jennie, I'm just down the hall and I live with you guys as well. You'll see me everyday. Unless they move me, which the most likely won't. Moving me in with a bunch of boys isn't a good idea", I laughed.
~Time Skip~
"It feels good to be home. I'm glad we got that dance finished. I don't know if I could practice anymore", Lisa said, falling backwards onto the couch. Rosie moved Lisa's legs out and set them on top of her own, sitting down. Jennie and I sat on the floor, Jisoo joining us seconds later.
"You are done. I have to get dances ready for the guys tomorrow", I said, leaning my head back, resting it on Lisa's stomach.
"Can't you just relax for a little bit?", Rosie asked.
"No, I promised I'd get the dances done for the guys"
"But don't you already know them?", Jisoo replied, cocking her head.
"Of course, but it's been awhile since I've actually done them. I had them ready to use for BTS four years ago, and haven't done them since I choreographed them"
"Well, why don't we help you?", Lisa asked.
"No, really. I've worked you guys hard enough. Get some rest. I'll see you in the morning"
I stood up and walked to the studio downstairs and the girls went to their respected rooms. Tonight was going to be a long night.
