Darksiders: The Cry of the Sun

Prologue

Two sides of the same coin...

One light, one dark...

A necessary evil, some might say...

One says it was love, one says it is insanity...

Her humanity thrown...consumed by not hate, not despair...but by love...

Treading the path of darkness, for her love's safety...in a world so right...yet so wrong...

She knew one day, her love will know the truth...

Her love will be her enemy...

It has come true...

As she clutched upon what was left of her life...

The blade of Chaos and the Scythe drove through her...

"Finally...eternal peace..." she whispered to one who resembled Chaos...

She fell, her smile upon her face, and her eyes faded into oblivion...

She saw a vision of her love...

"Forgive me...my love, now I return to you..." replied she.

"I forgive you..." was all her love whispered; peace finally acheived...

As two warriors stood upon the bloody battlefield, only they pondered...

"It has to be this way...is it? That peace which you desire..."

dragonswilleise: I loved this book, it was nearly impossible to put down from start to finish. It was fast passed without being overwhelming and slowed down where needed. Overall this was an amazing novel that I will definitely recommend to others.

Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...

themyronus: Vanessa has made 'amazing' the norme. I didn't want to read this as I am waiting for the finished and polished book to come out. But then I decided to read one chapter for kicks...well hours later I finished what was posted. Fortunately, my memory is not to good and I hope I will read the book wi...

Dru83: This is perhaps my favorite part of the Olafson story just because it is here that were are introduced to his "gang". The characters are so diverse and complicated that each of them could just about spawn their own story. Eric's buddies are just so captivating and the plot just rolls along. Again...

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. The heroine of the story is easy to relate to, a modern, middleaged woman looking for an adventure, wanting t...

Girl on Fire: Great story, line Alex!!!It really has a edge on it. It put me on edge with its thrill. Can't wait to read the rest.!!!

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

Elizabeth Krohn: I really enjoy the story but the Dursley's hate for Harry to just disappear is not very realistic and does seem to OC for me. Dudley, i can see changing due to the dementor incident but the other two ... not so much. For breeding purposes Luna and severus should have kids to have another Hogwarts...

JWalker: I loved this story from start to finish! It flows at a really nice pace and the story world feels so real. The fight sequences are a treat especially when Isanfyre is training to become a warrior. I found the names really cool and thankfully easy to pronounce. Personally I have always struggled w...

EchoOblivion: I was hooked from start to finish - couldn't put it down! Excellent story, compelling characters, well-built world and just the right amount of mystery. I would definitely recommend if you are a fan of post-apocalyptic sci-fi, with a few zombies-like creatures thrown in for good measure. Can't wa...

cassandrab: Delightful SciFi (for a change)! I am not a SciFi fan: mostly the genre is far too dystopic for me. This book (written by a high-school friend) is, on the other hand, generally upbeat. Yes, Earth's future is threatened. But Earth has a chance to plan a response. And (spoiler alert) ultimately win...

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...
