Dealing with Mai

By Aktaiy

Romance / Drama

Naru!

"Naru..." Whined Mai
"uh…. Yes Mai what's wrong" moaned Naru, unfortunately already knowing what was coming next.

"I'm hungry, could you go and get me... (She's thinking) Oh I Know, can you get me Chocolate covered donuts with Whipped Cream and I want Vanilla Ice cream ohhh with Caramel covered strawberries" cried a very excited Mai.

"Mai" started Naru as he reached for their alarm clock "its 2:30 in the morning, there are no stores open at this time love, how about you wait a few more hours and I'll go and get everything you asked for….. Ok" finished Naru as he turned away from Mai getting comfortable again.

"Naru! I want Chocolate covered donuts with Whipped Cream and Vanilla Ice cream with Caramel covered strawberries and I want them now!" yelled a highly upset Mai.

"~sigh~ Ok…Ok Mai I'm going right now don't start crying sweetie, look I'm going now, I'll be back soon ok" Naru knew better than to try and kiss Mai anywhere, be it on her cheeks or on the lips, while she's like this.

"Dammit I hate when she gets like this!" mumbles Naru, as he got into their car. Once he got to the closes store near their house. To his horror it was CLOSE.

"Dammit just my luck, of course it would be closed. Who would be open at this time of morning." He pulled out of the Parking Lot, heading towards the next store.

20 minutes later Naru had come to realize he has No luck what so ever. There were no stores open and the only one that was didn't sell anything he needed, he drove for another few miles before finding a convenience store that was open. Once he had everything for Mai he headed home.

As Naru made his way into the kitchen he heard Mai wobbling down the stairs.

"Naru where have you been? I was so worried about you and you left your phone here..... Naru, were you cheating on me and be honest with me, I can handle it?"Asked a very emotional Mai once she reached the kitchen.

"...Was I What!" said Naru trying to control his temper.

Once they found out Mai was pregnant Naru vowed he would never raise his voice to her or anyone with her in the room. When the others heard of his vow they laughed at the thought, but so far he has proving them wrong.

"Mai you woke me up at 2:30 this morning asking me to get you Chocolate covered donuts with Whipped Cream and Vanilla Ice cream with Caramel covered strawberries, and when I finally get home you ask me if I was cheating on you" Naru said clenching his teeth with his eye is twitching.

"I'm so sorry, Naru I forgot all about that, I though yo... yo...you... didn't love me any more Please don't hate me, please don't!" Mai yelled/cried as she dropped down to her knees.

Naru couldn't stand to see Mai like that, so he walked towards her and pulled her into a hug her.

"~sigh~ Don't worry Mai, I Love you and your tea too much to go out and cheat on you, You're the Only one I love so you don't have to worry, I hate seeing you in pain Mai, you know that better than anyone" Naru says sincerely. "~sigh~ why don't you go back up to bed I'll be there in a few minutes as soon as I put everything up."

"Ok, I love you too!" Mai happily agrees completely missing the tea remark.

'~sigh~ that girl and her mood swings are going kill me' Naru thought to himself.

A few weeks later Naru's mood went from worst to just hating to be near anyone. Following the night of his alleged cheating, Mai started scheduling clients who were either crazy or just plain Stupid it was hard to tell the difference at this point!

When asked why she was scheduling these interview she claimed that "I felt sorry for them and you didn't have to be so mean to them!"

Every time that argument came up Naru knew where he was sleeping that night and it wasn't in his own bed, No it was either their guest bedroom or the couch it was his 'choice' or at least that's what she always said. So for the past week and a half that's where you would find Naru alone in their Guest room because there was no way you would find him on their couch.

But on this day it has gone from bad to just plain nasty. First off, its been raining non-stop for the past two days, then after they arrived at the office he found that there was no tea. Now normally he would just send Yasuhara to get him more, but he called in earlier saying something about having to take his mother to the doctors not that he was listening, so Naru ended up going to get it his self (there's no way that he could send Mai to get it)

Naru was getting ready to yell for his 10th cup of tea, when he heard a lot of laughter coming from the client area of his office, not being able to take it anymore he stomped out of his office and when he reached the others he saw everyone (he's parents are not there yet, Lin and Madoka are at the airport waiting for them) except for Mai.

And with no Mai in sight Naru finally SNAPPED.

"What the hell are you all doing here. This is not a freaking cafe for everyone to come in, sit around joking, and have a good time. That not what I pay any of you to do, so if this is all you're gonna do then get the hell out!" Yelled a pissed off  Naru trying to catch his breath.

*CRASH*

Everyone turned around when they heard something hit the ground.

"Mai" they all gasp.

"I... I'm... Sorry, Naru, I... I just wanted them over so we could talk" Mai said with tears falling down her face

"What... No... Mai... I..." but before Naru could finish his sentence Mai ran out of the office and into the elevator with tears pouring down her face. They were all too shock to move when they saw Mai run out of the office. Before anyone realized what was going on, Naru had ran out after Mai. When the other saw this they all took off after them.

By the time Naru, Bou-san, Ayako, John, Masako, and Yasu all arrived at the lobby, there was NO Mai.

"Wow for a pregnant women Mai can sure run fast, and mind you it's still raining cats and dogs out there" Joked Yasuhara.

And before anyone could say anything

~SMACKED~

Ayako and Masako hit Yasu in the back of his head.

"This isn't the time to be joking around you idiot!" Yelled the team.

Without saying another word to each other the team split up Bou-san and Ayako, as one group then John, Masako, and Yasuhara as the other because Naru ran off by himself.

In Naru's head he couldn't help but to yell at himself 'There's not that many place's that Mai can run to in her condition where the Hell can she be at, she Better be OK.' As he made his way to the exit of an alleyway that wasn't that far from their building, his phone begin to ring.
"What!" he yelled

"Have you found Mai Yet?" says Bou-san,

"No I..., MAI!" he yelled

"What you found her!" yelled Bou-san.

"Yes she's crossing in front of the Bakery!" he replied hanging up the phone.

"Mai!" Naru yelled as he ran after her. The rain is clouding his vision. "Mai stop!" he continued to yell.

"What's that I hear uh…. The rain is too loud, and why did Naru get so mad back there, what did I do wrong" Mai thought while crying as she took a step off the sidewake.

"Mai stop!"

"What" she mumbles looking to her left "Naru? what…"

*BANG!*

Due to the heavy down pour visibly on the streets was poor and the roads were extremely slippery and because of that a driver failed to see the in time to stop the car.

"What the hell!" Mai yelled turning to her head to the sound.

*GASP*

What she saw shocked her very core "What....~Gasp~" she turns back around to see Naru.

"Naru!…..Naru!…." she yelled as she ran toward Naru who had just collapsed on the ground

"Naru!" yelled Mai, but before the others had a chance to reach her, she also collapsed right on top of her husband.

"Mai!" by the time the others get close enough to see what's happened their already too late.
