DmC Triple Shots

Limbo City, once a haven for demon kind, now a ruin being rebuilt under careful scrutiny and protected from the demonic presence that one remained hidden. With the Hell Gate closed and Mundus killed, the pocket world that the demons used to hide their true forms shattered, leaving many confused, afraid, and all too angry…

Those that were the most bold took the initiative and lashed out against humans the world over, but all was not lost for the humans, many Demon Hunters began to spring up from the chaos. With all this needless destruction going around, the world needs its heroes, most of all, they needed Dante. But Dante is just one guy, and unlike his brother Vergil, can't be in two places at once, yet…

What is a Hero to do? Nowadays he spends a lot of his time training with his close friend and associate, Kat, as she took the reigns of the Order. With Dante's help, they began gathering the Demon hunters and trained them, turning them into a small, but effective fighting force, so much so that the Order was recognized as the world's first line of defence against the demonic horde.

Running this organization leaves Dante and Kat with hardly any time to themselves, the most they could do on any given day is go out for a quick bite of Pie or some Pizza, but naturally that doesn't last long as Demons loyal to the old regime are always planning to kill Dante and obtain power they can only dream of, but their plans are almost always thwarted by Kat's interference, but this time would be different…

Danet groaned as Kat pulled him by the arms down the busy streets of Limbo City. He was blindfolded, so he couldn't tell where he was going, and the sound of construction equipment made it difficult to hear. Kat had a surprise for him, not that he liked those sort of things, but some kind of hint as to where she was taking him would have been nice. His coat tails flapped in the breeze as the rounded a corner, causing his head to turn into the wind. He could smell Pizza, what else was new, but why would he need to be dragged around blind folded if they were simply getting Pizza? He sighed, "Are we there yet?"

Kat chuckled happily as she continued to lead him along, "Almost… Is somebody still grumpy about the Tux?"

Dante huffed as he straightened his dark red coat with one hand, "Stupid Penguin suit… I can't be too mad though, they let me keep my girls… And my weapons. I feel naked without them sometimes."

This time Kat broke down laughing. He smiled, she doesn't laugh often, not often enough. He figured that she was laughing because of the circumstances they met, but she proved him wrong, "Well, you were meeting the mayor, so the suit was required, but as if anyone would tell you leave your stuff at home. That and the Demons attacking really helped your cause. Not that it was a good thing, but a dash of heroism did you some good."

Dante snorted, "I'm no hero, i'm just a guy with a knack for killing stuff. though, I bet those Stygians flunked demon school."

Kat grinned, here comes a joke, "And why is that?"

"Because they are so stupid, they left their blinker on for each attack."

Kat rubbed her chin in thought, Dante's attempt at humor was terrible, but it was true… She didn't really understand why the Demons flashed before most of their attacks. Oh well. They stopped walking, and she said, "Go on, take it off, I have a surprise for you."

Dante muttered to himself as he fumbled with the blindfold, "Better not be like the last time you said that."

His mouth dropped to the floor along with the blindfold, "What the…. When did they do this!"

Kat smiled as Dante admired the newly Rebuilt Tony's Pizza Palace, one of the best Pizza joins in the City and one of the few places that Dante used to regular, at least, until Mundus destroyed the place along with a large chunk of the city some time ago. She patted him on the back, "They reopened just the other day. I wanted to take you, but we had to get you all gussied up for the Key to the City ceremony… And then you had that job in the sewer…"

Dante sighed, "Those Mindflayers wouldn't stop flop footing me. Luckily they don't like bullets all that much."

Kat smiled with a nod, "True… Consider this a reward for all your good behavior, i'm buying."

Dante grinned like a mad man, "It's a paid vacation then? Bout time Christmas came early, maybe this year I can also get more than two lumps of coal in my stocking."

Kat frowned as he tried opened the door, "And Maybe I'll crack some chestnuts by an open flame."

Dante halted in his tracks as he looked back at Kat, "Did you just…? I must really be rubbing off on you."

Kat blushed as Dante went up to the front counter and thought about his order. Embarrassed about the current subject, she tried to change it by asking, "What's your favorite kind of Pizza?"

Dante smiled as he ordered, "Two classic Pepperonis and a Chicago, extra oregano."

The Waitress at the counter, Mandi, began writing up their order before asking, "Can I interest you in a free sample of our new Mushroom Olive combo?"

Dante looked back at Kat, who simply shrugged, and then back at Mandi and nodded, "Sure… Anything you want Kat?"

Kat wanted to just let Dante order, but… There was something she always wanted to make sure Dante tried. She stepped up to the counter and said, "Two Strawberry Sundae deluxes please."

Mandi smiled and handed them their receipt, "It will be finished shortly. Your order number is 616."

As Dante and Kat went to full up a couple of soft drinks, Kat whispered to Dante, saying, "Something doesn't seem right. I don't recognize anyone from my visit here the other day…"

Dante frowned, "I know, it's… Wait, you came here without me?"

Kat smiled nervously, "I was just scoping the place out, I swear."

Dante sighed, "Whatever… What's with the sundaes?"

Kat shrugged, "Well, I had one the other day, and I thought you might like one. They were pretty good."

Dante thought a moment before saying, "Alright, i'll try one, for you."
