Speare of Finality

Chapter Two

You could hear the clock ticking in the background, nothing was said, and silence filled the room. It was awkward to a point. Nothing I couldn't handle though. I tried to get comfortable but with these fucking chairs it's near impossible. I started closing my eyes, trying to block out everything but a loud snapping echoed through the library. I look back to the girl in the far back corner, I see everyone else doing the same, as she bites her fingers. She seems a little bit hungry I'd say.

"You keep eating your hand like that and you're not going to be hungry for lunch."

The girl just bit her nail and spat it in Bender's direction. Point for her effort and sass I suppose. I turned back around ignoring them as I hear Bender talk yet again.

"I've seen you before you know..."

His sentence is cut off as Rick leans back and checks into the room, assuming he's heard noises.

Why did I have to be stuck with people, couldn't I of just sat in solitude rather than with these people? These people didn't care to notice people like me. And that was fine by me but in detention, you always notice who's there. Fantastic, just what I needed in life... people. I didn't need people trying to befriend me; and I didn't want them to see what was happening to me.

I closed my eyes again, the light of the library hurting my eyes and making my head pound. I couldn't be sick here; I didn't have any medication to take, which was bad on my part.

It was quiet again, until the boy behind me began to mutter to himself.

"Who am I? Who am I? I am a walrus."

I turned around to stare at the kid named err, Johnson and he had a pen stuck to his lip.

Apparently, I wasn't the only that thought the nerd was strange because Bender was looking at him too with a face that clearly said what the fuck are you doing nerd? As if feeling the two stares on him, he looked at me before looking at Bender, his face full of guilt. He gave a nervous chuckle and unhooked the pen from his lip, giving Bender an anxious smile before turning back to the paper resting on the table in front of him. He was such a nerd it wasn't even funny, though it really did remind me of when I was younger, how I loved to learn new things, I could never put a book down and now, now I tried to live life to the max, because I was afraid of when my time would actually come.

I heard some shuffling from behind me but didn't look around; I didn't want it to look like I cared what any of them did. But I did hear the nerds voice, it was quaking in nervousness.

"It's the shits, huh?"

Out of nowhere a crumbled piece of paper, a piece I'm assuming Vernon had giving one of them to write on was chucked at the Princess in the front. Lucky for her, it arced over her head.

Not liking the reaction, or lack thereof, Bender began singing the guitar riff from 'Sunshine of Your Love' by Cream and playing an air guitar. Stunning performance I must say after all I loved that song. And that my dear, was sarcasm. I'm outstanding!

Just then the princess decided to say something that was actually floating around in my head, though she said it fairly quietly, probably so no one would hear but it didn't really work since I heard it and I'm sure others did as well.

"I can't believe this is happening to me."

Bender suddenly stopped his rendition of 'Sunshine of Your Love' and placed his hands on the table.

"Oh, shit, what are we supposed to do if we have to take a piss?"

The jock on the front desk just rolled his eyes and turned forward while the princess muttered an 'Oh please'. But Bender, not one to really pay attention to them, spread his legs slightly and put his hands under the table.

"You gotta go, you gotta go."

Was all Bender said and the sound of him unzipping his fly could be heard, echoing the room.

I tried not to laugh by biting the inside of my cheek, while Bender leaned forward, pressing his chest against his table, he was looking across at me. Does he know who I am? The jock spun around in his seat with a dark look, while the princess turned her head to stare at him before she said "Oh my God" then quickly turning to stare at the library door.

"Hey you're not urinating in here, man."

The jock snapped, it was very unlikely that Bender would listen to that. Especially when he started talking again but quite urgently.

"Don't talk. Don't talk; it makes it crawl back up!

"You whip it out and you're dead before the first drop hits the floor."

Bender lifted his head and staring at the jock, tilting his head almost flirtatiously. Oh my God, this detention isn't so bad after all. Quite funny, like a soap opera gone wrong.

"You're pretty sexy when you get angry. Grrr…"

He looked around the room before settling to look at the nerd.

"Hey homeboy."

The poor kid pointed towards himself with the pen, probably curious as to why Bender was talking to him.

"Why don't you go close that door? Maybe we'll get the ladies impregnated."

I looked at Bender disappointed, I could feel my eyes tearing up slightly at the thought of never being able to have sex, or a husband, or even a life. My life really does suck.

The jock, which I still didn't know the name of, spun around and glared at John. He looked proper pissed and everything, I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel a little better, well to be honest, it just distracted me from my darker thoughts, which was good.

"If I lose my temper, you're totalled man."

I feel a lot of tension in the air between the two, I think it was because they were so different from each other and thought they wouldn't get along with the other. Not even trying to. That's typical of people though, especially this school, since it's all about the bloody cliques you get.

Suddenly, Princess decided to speak, her voice holding that stupid 'I'm better than you' tone.

"Why don't you shut up? Nobody here's interested."

To which the jock added too.

"Really, buttface."

"Hey, sporto, what'd you do to get in here? Forget to wash your jock?"

I couldn't help but giggle at that, the look on 'sporto's' face was just too funny. I looked around to Bender and found him looking at me with a small smile on his face. It looked so strange seeing him really smile, not smirk, just smile. He was really a beautiful boy, with his dark brown eyes and—

"Excuse me, fellows. I think we should just write our papers."

I looked at the nerd before sighing, poor kid; everyone else just ignored Johnson as 'sporto' turned back around.

"Just because you live in here doesn't give you the right to be a pain in the ass. So knock it off!"

"It's a free country."

The preppy girl turned to the jock.

"He's just doing it to get a rise out of you. Just ignore him."

Bender just looked at both of them, his eyes holding amusement. He was really enjoying himself. He looked over at me as he spoke.

"You couldn't ignore me if you tired."

Funny thing was. I believed him. And I even added that.

"Yeah, you really can't. It's near damn impossible with him. He'll just suck you back in darlin'."
