Chapter 1

Sleep is a gift, a gift beings take for granted. When you sleep you dream and when you dream you're taken out of the waking world to a state where there is no pain, no emotion, everything is not what it seems. Time flows around you but you stay the same. In his youth Anakin Skywalker feared sleep; visions of pain, suffering and death haunted him all his life taking away those he loved. Now Darth Vader he longed for it. to sleep to escape from his shell to escape this cruel destiny in which dreams were the cause. the few times he was able to sleep were the happiest he'd ever allow himself to be since he was transformed.

Darth Vader dreamed. in his dreams he was young again as he was; free from his prison free from the dark side, he was young and running through the fields of Naboo running after...Her

She often came to him but they were mostly flashbacks, others were wraiths of guilt and accusation. This one was recurring, he was running after her and she was always just out of his reach. He could see her emotionless face, her long hair flowing with flowers, clothed in blue robes her hand outstretched towards him clasping a necklace. This was his dream and he always woke having never caught her.

This time however was different, he passed over a hill and the landscape before him changed. Padme disappeared entirely; the landscape before him became a wall of shimmering light, the wall came closer to him until it engulfed him a tunnel formed in the wall and images appeared at the other end. It was a force vision he hadn't had one since....

The image was one most unexpected: His son Luke he was screaming in pain "Father please help me" he screamed the image morphed from Luke to an all too familiar image: The horrible visage of Palpatine he too was writhing in pain wreathed in lightning. the imaged morphed again. this time to....Anakin Skywalker?
"Lord Vader" the dream disappeared and his vision returned to that of the infrared and hud displays of his mask he was sitting crossed legged in his hyperbaric chamber and he was aware of his breathing " Yes Jerrjerod what is it?" The Moff swallowed hard he knew he must have interrupted something important "The Emperor's shuttle will be arriving shortly sir." Jerrjerod was met with breathing "Thank you commander" Jerrjerod bowed and left leaving Vader alone. He pondered the vision he just had; taking everything into account he weighed the life of his son over the Life of his master, too evenly matched taking into consideration what happened with Padme he decided....to do nothing whatever happens would happen after all it was the will of The Force.

the unedited writer: It's a guilty pleasure. The characters are brought to life and you find yourself loving them worrying for them and so on. The plot was serious but at the same time it had a light tone that didn't make you depressed as other drama genres. 5 stars for me

Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. However, I was not expecting this to be a vampire book! I am usually not one for novels about vampires, but I was pleasantly surprised! You wrote with such grace a...

Bri Hoffer: I couldn't put it down!! The characters are all incredibly likable, and it's so descriptive you can see, smell, and feel thier surroundings. Great story, and very well written. I cannot wait for follow up stories. there were a few grammatical errors, but nothing that I could move right over.

catd69: Karim is a very talented writer. When I started reading his journey it took me into the book and I was in the story till the end. I've never felt this way with any other writers stories. If you want to read a gripping adventure, this will be the one book I would suggest you pick.

spec4huff: Thank you for creating this world. I am a 6'3" veteran that thinks himself tough. But the piece of literature you have created made me misty eyed on a number of occasions. I want a love like this. Thank you again, I would totally buy this book and hopefully the sequels to this ever enchanting lov...

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

Lynda Keosavanh: very well written. from start to finish. I loved the plot and how it flowed. I enjoyed the characters and was engrossed by the mystery unfolding. I could barely put the book down. and look forward to seeing more

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. I read the first couple chapters, and I enjoyed your writing style and am excited to see where you take this story. My com...

SPepper: I had a hard time putting this book down even to go to sleep. The story is compelling and beautifully character driven. I hope author will make this a series.

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

SandraHan1: This story is very descriptive, with vivid scenes from the very beginning, which made for a good scene setting. I love the symbolism in names, such as “Naysayers”, “Hadd”, etc . The story itself is revolutionary, intriguing, emotional and exciting. I was very pleased to see that there is a happy ...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...
