Prologue

A yowl erupted from within the nursery and all of JungleClan gathered around the small entrance to the den where kits were born. A beautiful slender white she-cat with green eyes stepped forward from the crowd and all the cats shuffled back to give her room. But before she could speak, a light orange tom with darker orange paws and patches padded out of the nursery followed by a calico she-cat with amber eyes. In both of the cat’s eyes there was undisguised shock.“What is wrong Flamecloud?” the white she-cat inquired, looking at the ginger tom.“Flowerstar. May I speak with you in your den?” the tom asked, ignoring the question. Flowerstar, the white she-cat nodded, motioning to the calico she-cat. She hesitated then called, “Darkfur? Come.” A dark grey tom with black stripes along his back and blue eyes stepped forward from the crowd and followed Flowerstar to her den, a small opening below a large boulder

Inside Flowerstar’s den, the she-cat settled herself in her nest while the others found places to sit beside her. She then turned to Flamecloud.“Speak.” She demanded.
Flamecloud hesitated, shuffling his paws on the sandy ground. He then said, “Birdflight’s kits were just born, as you know. And the kits…well the kits were born with wings.”Flowerstar’s emerald eyes widened, and then she turned to the calico.“What about you, Dappledleaf? Do you have anything to say?”Dappledleaf, the calico, took a deep breath, and then meowed softly, “Yes what Flamecloud speaks is the truth. The kits were born with wings. I have to wait until night for Silverpelt to shine and tell me the destinies of these kits. But they are strong and healthy kits.”Flowerstar dipped her head and turned to her deputy, “Have you got the patrols organized?”Darkfur nodded “Flamecloud, Moonstrike and Owlpaw for the night patrol.”“Good. You may all leave now.” Flowerstar dismissed them with a flick of her tail.

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

Dru83: This is perhaps my favorite part of the Olafson story just because it is here that were are introduced to his "gang". The characters are so diverse and complicated that each of them could just about spawn their own story. Eric's buddies are just so captivating and the plot just rolls along. Again...

Oru Manna: Within this tale is a cast of characters with intensely unique voices and personas; each one radiating their own desires so clearly, you would think they were all written by different people. Their behaviors, their speech patterns, even their thoughts are so independent of one another, it really ...

Kasei Bulloch: At the beginning I wasn't very into the story but I kept reading and was more hooked than I was with Battle of the Wills. All of a sudden I had devoured chapter after chapter then the book was over. I am dying for The Compact. Please help a girl out!

mullikin902: Do not start reading this book unless you have enough time to finish it in one sitting, because you will not be able to put it down! Superlative! Addictive! Deliciously wicked characters you can't get enough of. Impatiently waiting for the sequel!

Mourn8220House: When first reading "Avarice," I thought it would be another fairytale but I was taken back the author's approach and choice of ending. There is little to be said for the story and overall plot besides the sudden twists and speculation, other than that I do not want to ruin a fantastic tale, you m...

Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. catd69: Karim is a very talented writer. When I started reading his journey it took me into the book and I was in the story till the end. I've never felt this way with any other writers stories. If you want to read a gripping adventure, this will be the one book I would suggest you pick.
