Adventure

Chapter 1

"Twenty-two years ago, the skeleton of a man was discovered in this manor, said a teenager who was trying to do a spooky voice. The autopsy revealed that he was eaten by a snake. Fifty years before, the same man was accused of the murder of three people, in this house. The policemen released him due to a lack of proof. The house is know Haunted and every night the ghost comes and kills someone !"

The little girl screeched

"Stop it Kevin ! You're scaring her !" another teenager said

"Why did you bring her with you if she's scared of ghost stories" said Kevin

"My parents forced me to"

The boy looked out of the window.

"It's getting dark, I must go" He took the little girl's hand and left.

Kevin was about to leave to go home when he heard a noise from upstairs. He went up the staircase. Once upstairs he heard a metallic voice coming from the drawing room.

"You will obey or you will be exterminated"

"Yes master" said a man. There was a pause

"My sensors tell me that a human is standing behind the door, exterminate him !"

Kevin didn't react fast enough. The man opened the door and yelled

"Avada Kedavra" A green light hit Kevin's chest and he fell. He never came back to his parents.

We were looking for a compartment with my cousin, Rose. After about five minutes, we found a empty one. Once we settled down, Rose started talking about what she discovered in "Hogwarts, a history", I wasn't really listening. Was James right, was I going to be Slytherin, I didn't want to. But dad said it didn't matter. What about the other houses, I really wanted to be in Gryffindor, Like mum, dad, James, Roxanne, Fred and Dominique. But I guess Hufflepuff would do too, Like Teddy, or Louis. I know I can't be in Ravenclaw, I'm not intelligent enough. The train started moving. I looked out of the window. Mum, dad and Lily were waving at us. When the train reached full speed, a girl opened the compartment. She was about 16. She had frizzy copper blond hair tied up in a bunch, light tanned skin, a round face brown eyes and rectangular glasses. She already had her school robes on, they were at gryffindor colours. I could see two people behind her

"We can't find an empty compartment, she said. Could we share this one with you ?"

"sure" Rose assured

She entered, closely followed by a girl about the same age who had dark eyes and short, dark brown, wavy hair and she had sharp features. The girl after her was tall, had mid-long, thick and curly light brown hair with streaks of hair dyed in blue. Her eyes were hazel behind big square glasses, her face was covered with freckles and she had big front teeth Both of them had their Hogwarts robes. Respectively Slytherin and Ravenclaw coloured.

"Way, said the Slytherin girl, her voice leaking with sarcasm. First years". She had a light french accent.

"Shut up, snapped the Ravenclaw girl. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything"

They glared at each other. It was the blond Gryffindor girl who broke the tension.

"I'm Serena by the way"

"I'm Rose"

"Albus"

"I'm Liz'" said the Ravenclaw girl

"and I'm Deloise" said the slytherin girl

Liz' took a book from her star themed messenger bag and started reading it. While Serena and Deloise started talking about their other friends who where prefects and a story about Kings and Queens, I didn't really understand it. I could have if I was listening. What if I am in Slytherin. The women with the sweet trolley passed, asking us if we wanted something to eat. I bought some chocolate frogs to share with rose.

"You're being extremely silent you two, are you nervous ?"asked Serena

"Yeah, a bit" answered Rose

"Have you got any idea of the house you will be in ?"

"No, I just don't want to be in Slytherin" I said

Deloise huffed "there's nothing wrong in being a Slytherin !"

"I've got a theory, said Liz' from behind her book. Evil people, like Voldemort, were sorted into Slytherin because they were cunning and ambitious. You need these traits to gain power. A lot of high ranked people at the ministry are from Slytherin. And a great majority of them are nice people to talk to. But you're right to think that some people from this house are evil. Like Deloise here." And she continued reading her book.

"For once, I agree with her" said Deloise

Soon after, the sky started darkening and the train stopped. I heard a big voice.

"Firs' Years, over 'ere"

Although Hagrid being old he is still the gamekeeper, but he isn't a Professor any more, Professor Grubby-Plank took his place. While sailing on the boat with Rose and a pale blond boy named Scorpius, I was thinking that maybe it didn't matter if I was sorted in Slytherin. After all, I was named after to great headmasters, one of which was a Slytherin.

Jessica Esa: With a tantalising end to the first chapter, the authour has given us a treat and a welcome addition to the fantasy adventure genre.
