Death Be My Wings

By Ellz Bellz

short story

She knew what was coming but her eyes wouldn't leave the cold red eyes that stared at her from the depths of darkness, A void that showed no mercy, so humanity. She wondered what had brought this about then laughed silently to herself, she had caused this, and now she was paying for it. smiling slightly she raised her wand and pointed it towards the red eyed monster in front of her, her hand trembled, the only thing to betray her and how scared she really was. She felt the air around them thicken with tension, you could practically reach out and squish it with your hands.

The Red eyes glowed suddenly as a chuckle erupted from where they hovered, a voice, like ice and daggers slithered down her spine making her shudder, "You trebling my beautiful Hermione, do you see what I am now, how powerful I have become, don't you wish you had joined me, been my Dark love...". Her eyes closed slightly as a emotion cut through her heart, like a cold dagger stabbing her. She had wanted to be with him forever, but not like this, not evil and cold-hearted. She wanted the warmth and safety she had felt in his arms, before he came this hideous freak of nature, calling himself 'Lord Voldomort' even now she laughed at it, even thou she knew deep down, that this was who he was in her time, no matter how far she went back in time to change it. This was what he became, but at least, she thought, I had Tom for a bit even if it cost me my heart later.

She smiled at the cold red eyes of lord Voldomort and said softly, just enough so he could hear her, "I Love you Tom" before she shot the killing curse at him. watching him deflect it and send the curse back at her, she smiled in satisfaction as the red eyes widened with fear and cold pale hands reached for her but she was already dead, a small smile of satisfaction laid out on her pale lips. She knew deep down, her Tom was still alive, and by having him kill her, she killed him in return. She wanted to be with him forever, and now she could.

LesAnne: I've never come across a plot like this, and I like its originality. At first, the title gave me the impression that the story is about friends making bets, but I've been proven wrong. I like the personality of the female main character, how evident her strengths and weaknesses are. She's become ...

Animeviewer: It is one of the best stories I've ever read. This story will have you riding a roller coaster of emotions and nearly dying to know what happens next. You will get very attached to the characters and in my case I relate well with some of their very traumatic or emotional experiences, Just Juliet f...

LouiseJ2: I enjoyed the detail you went into with regards to the case. It made the UNSUB appear believable. The crisis in the middle of the story was my favorite part, very dramatic but not over the top. I feel like sometimes pairings can be overdone but I liked that some of the relationships were a little...

Fashakin Michael: I have looked for the right word to describe this piece of Art but I concluded with "Wow!" Every chapter held me glue till the last and the book is just the reflection of our environment with its reaction. Though the writeup is not far from what happens in home but the writer was able to hold me ...

Alex Rushmer: Although I don't know the story of the Phantom of the Opera, I really enjoyed this story. The writing was very evocative, and it really put a picture of time and setting in my mind. The voice of the story really added to the character development. The idea of the time travelling -- or whatever re...

Jenn Deering: This is a go-to story for when you're needing a little happiness in your life. It's well-crafted, and characters are true to their show-selves. The pace is right, there are minimal grammatical errors, and the plot is fresh.

Jade Jez: What a wonderful, immersive book from Eliott McKay. It starts with an air of mystery, introducing main character Michaela, the clumsy teenager. From there, it whisks you off your feet and dumps you into a beautifully written world where you can almost smell and hear everything happening. I go...

RubyScars: I absolutely love your story! It killed me when I finished, I read it all at once and then it stopped at the epic cliffhanger! Uggggggh. But, that said, it just means that you have done such a lovely job. I am so in love with your complicated characters, and even the ones I didn't like you slowl...

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...
