Angel- the life death and afterlife of Felicity Smoak

By AlexandraRylie

Fantasy / Adventure

Prologue

Voices. They are the only thing I hear besides the buzzing in my head.

'Our father...'

Gun shots come next as I hear glass shattering around me.

'Who art in heaven...'

Then a burning sensation begins in the back of my skull.

'Hollowed be thy name...'

It spreads slowly to my neck. A trail of fire searing it's way through my body.

'Thy will be done in earth...'

"Felicity!"

'As it is in heaven....'

Oliver? Why is he calling my name?

'Give us this day our daily bread....'

The familiar sound of an arrow being shot a high speed pierces my ears almost as soon s it hits some else's flesh and bone.

'And forgive us our debts ....'

A gut wrenching cry  breaks my heart.

'As we forgive our debtors...'

It sounds strangely like Oliver too.

'And lead us not into temptation.....'

"I'm sorry Felicity."

'But deliver us...'

And that was the last thing I heard for a very long time.

'From evil.'

SPepper: I had a hard time putting this book down even to go to sleep. The story is compelling and beautifully character driven. I hope author will make this a series.

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

Alexis Dredd Zarcal: Overall, it's a rather thrilling piece, merging superstition, psychology, slice of life, and the usual Japanese risque fare. All the elements have rhyme and reason in being placed together. The respective background stories of the characters involved so far also give a sense of flair and thrill.I'...

Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...

re8622: The Last Exodus quickly grabbed my attention. Almost as soon as I started reading the story, I couldn't put it down. I found that the ideas the author put forth were very thought provoking given the turmoil we have seen gradually rise over the last several years. I felt that I could understand th...

Rebecca Nollen: I absolutely loved this story!!! So exciting and the movement of the story was an absolute thrill ride. I hated the ending. I need the second book like tomorrow. Can't wait to share this story with my friends and daughter.

mullikin902: Do not start reading this book unless you have enough time to finish it in one sitting, because you will not be able to put it down! Superlative! Addictive! Deliciously wicked characters you can't get enough of. Impatiently waiting for the sequel!

themyronus: Vanessa has made 'amazing' the norme. I didn't want to read this as I am waiting for the finished and polished book to come out. But then I decided to read one chapter for kicks...well hours later I finished what was posted. Fortunately, my memory is not to good and I hope I will read the book wi...
