The Blindfold

Miss Understandings

Harry walked into the room of requirement planning to find a big room with pillows, book shelves and dark arts equipment, but what he saw instead was not that. Harry walked into the room and found his Slitherin boyfriend hugging his best friends little sister. This sparked two different emotions in him, first was anger, no, rage. He was furious with Draco, that he would do such a thing as be caught with his friend was unthinkable. On the other hand, why where they here? Why was Ginny crying? He was very confused. However confused harry was he was still angry and his scar was hurting. Harry had to get away to think and calm down.

Draco was frozen in place; he couldn’t move or even get his voice to work. Ginny was stuttering to explain what harry was seeing. She was failing however, since harry ran out of the room with a pained look on his face. Draco could finally feel his legs and without thinking took off after harry leaving Ginny where she was on the floor. Ginny wanted to run after both of them but was paralyzed with guilt ‘I caused this, this is my entire fault’. She sat there just looking at the now closed door as more tears ran down her face.

“Harry! Harry please stop let me explain!” Draco called as he ran after the dark haired boy. Harry keep running, he ran down corridors and around corners until he turned the corner and stopped when Draco called his name with so much sadness, harry had to stop.

“Harry James Potter, please do not run! I don’t want to see you run from me again!” Harry stopped, his fists clenched at his side. He was holding back so much anger he didn’t know where most of it was coming from. When he herd Draco yell at him about him running away it nearly stopped him in his tracks. Draco has caught up and was panting a ways behind him. ‘Calm down harry there is no need to be so mad, it was probably just a miss understanding.’ Harry thought to himself as he and Draco just stood in the hall no speaking.

Harry wanted to turn around to face his maybe ex-boyfriend when he noticed tears where running down his cheeks. When did he start crying? Had he been crying the entire time and not noticed it? He couldn’t turn around now, if he did he would be breaking a promise he made to himself. ‘He can’t see you like this, you can’t let him. You promised’.

“Harry I’m sorry, but please believe me it’s not what you think. I would never do anything to hurt you. You’re the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. Please let me explain.” Draco begged after he caught his breath, he wasn’t on his knees because Malfoys don’t kneel they don’t even beg, but Draco would do anything if it meant Harry would listen to him. “Harry, please look at me.” Harry still had not turned around, he couldn’t.

“I can’t” It was all Harry could say without letting Draco know about the tears. The answer confused Draco because he could not tell Harry was crying.

“What do you mean?” Harry cleared his throat, and clarified his answer to Draco.

“If I turned around I would break a promise I made to myself a while ago.” The tears where getting worse, Harry had to blink very fast to clear his vision.

“Harry, are you…?”

“Yes.” Harry interrupted. “Yes I am. I need some space for a bit. I just need to calm down and think some things over.”

“Harry what you saw, it wasn’t…”

“Draco!” Harry cut him off again. He had to get away before he did something he would regret. He was clenching his fists so tight now he could feel traces of warm liquid. “I’ll let you and Ginny explain, but right now I need to be alone. I’ll find you when I’m ready to listen, but for now… give me some space.”

These both relived and worried Draco. Harry was going to let him explain, but he also wanted ‘some space’ did that mean they were temporarily breaking up? Harry was Draco’s everything, now that his father was a convicted Death Eater.
