I hope you enjoy my version of a girl in a maze. With memories among other things coming at her fiercely.

Cold.

Surrounded.

Scared.

Waterboarded.

Sick.

Andrรฉa woke up to nothing but boxes and a moving platform. The motion made her slightly dizzy and she hurriedly coughed out water. She spun on her stomach and hurled out whatever would come out.

When nothing else would come out she plopped on her butt and tried to regulate her breathing. She combed a hand through her slightly damp hair and racked her brain for a clue as to where she was. What she was doing here. How she got here.

But nothing came up. Everything seemed to be wiped clean. Gone.

All except her name.

Andrรฉa.

No middle name. No last name. Just Andrรฉa.

Andrรฉa took in a deep breath and looked at her surroundings to see the letters W.C.K.D stamped on the boxes.

"What the hell is W.C.K.D?" She croaked out to herself.

She rubbed her sore throat and groaned, leaning her head back onto one of the boxes. She felt tired. Drained. She felt like she had been drowned and a headache seemed to form.

She opened her heavy eyelids and noticed a red light approaching. She furrowed her eyebrows but didn't have the strength to let her mind wonder. Slowly her heart slowed down and she fell asleep to the sounds of the cage moving up.

***

The cage Andrรฉa was locked in suddenly came to a screeching stop, the light that had been above her now green. The boys opened the door and shock covered their faces.

It was clear none of these boys had seen a girl before. At least not any they had a recollection of.

"It's a girl."

"I call dibs."

"She's unconscious you shuck face!"

"Slim it, slintheads!"

The crowd of about fifty boys stared down at the unconscious girl, none making a move to help her.

But a dark-skinned boy -presumably the leader gave orders to his right-hand man. "Get her out Newt." His voice seemed gruff and demanding. Like he demanded respect without saying it.

The blonde haired boy sighed but complied to the orders nonetheless. And with a loud thud, he jumped in to help the unconscious brunette.

Newt knew there was no way to get her out without throwing her over his shoulder so he found some wooden crates and made a makeshift step stool before picking the girl up; an arm under her knees and an arm around her neck.

He carefully got her onto the ground before jumping out himself.

"What do we do with her?" He asked his leader, glancing at the girl for a brief moment before he kept eye contact with Alby.

"Take her to the Med-Jacks. Get her checked out." Newt nodded and picked the girl up once more. He walked away with a boy following, the rest left at the box to take out the supplies.

***

Andrรฉa's eyes slowly opened to see two males standing over her talking. At first, she couldn't make out the words but eventually sound filtered through again.

"She just passed out due to exhaustion and a headache. She seems fine otherwise. I can give her some Tylenol to help but that's about all."

"Thank you, Clint." Newt offered the curly-headed brunette a small appreciative smile. "I'll relay that to Alby."

The door to the small hut shut softly and Andrรฉa tried to find the strength to open her eyes. She groaned and her hands flew to her eyes to rub the heaviness away.

"Sleeping beauty is up." The boy smiled slightly. "Wonderful."

The hazel-eyed girl looked at the boy who seemed to be around her age in confusion. She looked around to see some light was filtering through and was the only source of light.

"Who are you?" Her voice came out gravelly and the boy nervously smiled before grabbing a cup of water and handing it to her.

"Drink. And try not to talk much. It won't help your throat." Slowly the girl drank some of the water and moaned at the refreshing feel it gave her sore throat. The boy chuckled softly before introducing himself. "I'm Clint. A Med-Jack. I'm here to help those who get injured. Along with my buddy Jeff who is currently helping someone else." He smiled slightly at her trying to show her she was not going to be hurt. "Would you like to tell me your name?"

Andrรฉa took the cup away from her lips and hesitantly nodded. "A-Andrรฉa. But th-that's all I know..."

"Yeah. That's okay. Perfectly normal. For us anyway." He smiled halfheartedly. "When Newt gets back he can help you and clear up any confusion you have. Is that okay?"

Andrรฉa nodded slowly.

"Do you want me to go get him or do you want to wait and I'll stay?" He offered.

She made a motion with her hand telling him it was okay for him to go.

"I'll be right back. Just drink some water and rest. You need it."

She nodded and rested her head against the not-so-comfortable pillow.

After a few minutes of silence, a creak was heard and the blonde-haired boy that helped her out previously had walked into her room.

"Andrรฉa right?" He asked softly. The girl nodded and Newt nodded along with her. "I'm Newt."

"Hi."

Newt smiled slightly. "I'm here to help with any confusion and show you around. Do you think you can walk?"

Andrรฉa nodded and rose from her bed. She slung her legs over to the direction Newt was. Feeling the heat, she shrugged off her jacket and tied it around her waist. She fanned herself for a second before leaning on the bed and getting up.

She stumbled a bit at first and Newts hands flew out to stabilize her so that she didn't crash into the ground.

"Careful, love." Andrรฉa lifted her gaze up to Newts and gave him a look and he hurriedly retracted his hands. "Sorry."

She smiled slightly and let out a breath that sounded like a laugh. "It's okay...Newt."

Newt reached a hand behind his head and scratched the base of his neck nervously. "Okay...well let's head out and show you around then, yeah?"

She nodded her head and followed him out the Med hut.

A boy, the same one who ordered New around earlier walked up to them. His face emotionless and set.

"I heard your name was Andrรฉa, correct?" The girl nodded feeling as if she shouldn't speak to him yet. "Well I'm Alby. Me and everyone else here are the gladers."

"Hello Alby." She greeted the boy.

Andrรฉa furrowed her brows in confusion when she stuck her hands in her pants pocket to find a piece of paper.

She took it out and before she opened it Alby stopped her.

"May I read it?" Alby asked.

"Sure." She shrugged handing the paper over to the leader.

Alby read through the short slip once. And then again. His eyebrows furrowed in shock. He handed the paper to Newt who then looked pale. Like he had seen a ghost.

"This is bad." Newt muttered glanced my up at Andrรฉa before looking at the paper then Alby.

"No kidding this is bad. She can't be more then seventeen maybe sixteen."

"We can't do this to her Alby." Newt shook his head. "This isn't right."

"Call a gathering, Newt. Now." The dark-skinned boy demanded.

Newt started to walk away to gather all the Keepers and Andrรฉa started to feel sick from worry. "Alby what's wrong? What's happening? Can I see what's on the paper?"

"Not yet." He replied, his tone distant as his thoughts over took him. "During the gathering."

"But Alby...it's my paper. I should be able to read it now," she said. Her heart thumped against her rib cage in anxiety. "Is it really bad?"

Alby noticed how worried she was getting and offered a hand on the arm to calm her down. "It ain't bad. But it ain't nothin' good either. Let's go." He kept his hand on her shoulder and lead her to the hut where they had their meetings.

Andrรฉa's hazel eyes scanned around the place for the first time to see huge walls covered in ivy with one opening on each wall. And their were four walls in total.

"How big is this place?" She asked looking up at the taller boy.

"Not for you to worry about right now, Andrรฉa."

***

Everyone sat in a chair excluding Alby and Newt. Andrea shifted in her seat when she noticed the stares placed on her. Some of the boys took it upon themselves to guess why she was here and Alby didn't look like he had the time for the talking.

"Quiet down!" He demanded. Silence swept over the room. So much so that you could hear a pin drop. Andrรฉa was handed the paper as Alby continued to talk. "This effects us all. But none more then Andrรฉa."

"It can't be that bad." A dark haired fit looking boy shouted.

"Shut it Minho," Newt told him.

Andrรฉa's eyes widened and her lips parted in shock.

She was sent here for a reason. She is to get pregnant by the end of the month. Or the maze will fall. Meaning the supplies are gone, doors will stop closing, and no more people will be sent up.

W.C.K.D

Andrรฉa dropped the paper to the ground as she was to overcome with fear to keep a grip on the small paper that would change her life.

She couldn't do it. She didn't want to do it. But it seemed she had no say in the matter. All these people needed this stuff.

The girls chest rose rapidly and her breathe shortened. Newt noticed hoe bad it was getting for her and hurried to the girl. He grabbed her arm and guided her out of the hut. He lead her to the forest and set her next to a tree.

"Calm deep breaths. Focus on my voice. It's okay." He soothed her. He bent on his knee and watched her freak out. "Hey hey. It's gonna be okay." He cupped her face in his hands and lead her eyes to his. "Deep breaths. Focus on me."

Andrรฉa nodded hesitantly and took in deep breaths along with him. Andrรฉa felt disgusted with the thought of being forced onto someone by people she didn't even know. Whoever these W.C.K.D people are we're cruel and obviously didn't care what they did to their guinea pigs. After all to them they were just guinea pigs.

"Are you okay now?" Newt asked taking his hands away from the girls face.

"Mhm." She forced out. "A little."

"Good. I'm glad to have been a little help."

She nodded and kept her eyes on the ground. "Thank you...For helping me."

"I couldn't just let you freak out in front of everybody." He smiled slightly and sat down next to her. "Let me be the first one to apologize for what they are asking of you."

"It's not you," she said before clearing her throat. "You didn't tell them to do this. It's not your fault. So you have nothing to be sorry about."

"Still-"

"Newt? Andrรฉa?" The voice of Minho asked. The two looked up to see him with his hand on his waist.

Newt glanced at the brunette girl before looking at his friend. "We'll be right there Minho. Just give us a minute."

The Korean boy nodded with a sorrowful look on his face. "Yeah. I get it...I'm sorry Andrรฉa."

"It's okay." The boy glanced between the two for a moment before taking off. "Do we really have to go back? I don't want to talk about it. And I still haven't gotten that tour..."

"I'm afraid we do." He told her. Andrรฉa's face dropped and she nodded. "If you find any comfort in it at all. I will be there for you."

She nodded and he got up, offering her a hand. She gladly took it and he gave her a slight squeeze.
