Empty Rooms

By gabrielsangel79

Poetry

Empty Rooms

Empty rooms echoing the silence of my lonely thoughts

Rooms once so full of life and warmth, now cold and unwelcoming.

The Great Brain is gone to fulfil its desire of solitude and study

And I am plunged again into the void created by its absence.

All I am left with are missing pieces that had become so familiar;

The violin case, the myriad of pipes, the Persian slipper filled with tobacco

Have become all just figments in my memory of days gone by

For they have accompanied you to your new place in life away from me.

You went without saying so much as a farewell either personally or in writing,

Yet I cannot blame you for I know how much you despise goodbyes.

There is only one more thing left for me to say,

Goodbye and good luck my friend and may you find what you are looking for.

crissy: Awesome work. The characters are so beautifully flawed and easy to relate to. The protagonist Bethany Hill is a woman that I would definitely want to meet in real life. The author has managed to make me visualize the story like a movie. The two time frames of past and present are also so beautifu...

K.rock_Queen 514: Wow. This book was just wow. I love it❤❤❤. It was amazing. The struggle and'Never give up' thoughts were very inspiring to me👍. I specially love her action and strong attitude. If you are someone who loves action and romance at same time you should probably read this book.

Priyanshu Vishwakarma: Love everything I call it "A live poetry".

Nicolas R. Sequeira: It's a good book, very historical, but a real bizarre premise. It works well, though. Neat story.

jenneyescoto: I'm only six chapters in, yet I'm already hooked. It didn't start too slow nor too fast. It has just enough background information to keep the plot going in a decent pace. There are just some minor grammar mistakes and phrasing that could be easily corrected. Other than that, I'm really enjoying ...

Laraine Smith: This should be a movie! :)

graceeming: I thought the whole story form the beginning was captivating, it really gave you the hunger that you were longing for in a story. Yes the end was not something that I enjoyed, but I recommend this to anyone that enjoys fantasy of this type.
