Friends and lovers in Abnegation

Adventure

Chapter 1

My name is Beatrice prior and the first time when I met Tobias Eaton was when I was 11 and he, 13.

~~~~Flashback~~~~
This had become a daily routine for me. Every day in school people from other factions would bully and tease me for being a stiff (the nickname for an abnegation) and so scrawny and also taking my lunch and of course I couldn't do anything about it as I was abnegation and we were supposed to be selfless.
But one day a boy stood up for me he was from abnegation but didn't look like one. He had a tall, muscular build and a hooked nose, black hair and deep, sea blue eyes that needless to say were mesmerizing. He could have been made a dauntless prodigy as he stood in front of me and told the other factions to back off. They ran like children towards candy to get away from him.
He then offered his hand toward me and pulled me up with a strong but gentle pull making me stumble slightly. He then asked if I was okay. I nodded and mumbled a quick, inaudible thank you and ran off.
Flashback continues
Two days later:
The bullying had become less frequent in fact it had almost stopped since that boy had stood up for me and I think Tobias Eaton was his name. Son of the leader of Abnegation, Marcus Eaton. So of course he had a small amount of power even though it was forbidden to draw attention to himself the way he had done while defending me.
The Erudite had been publishing pretty foul articles about Marcus lately. Most of them were accusations of beating his son which would obviously be false since he was the leader of abnegation.
As I walked into class with my head bowed low I bumped into Tobias except this time he winced as if by bumping into him a healing wound had been hit. I mumbled a sorry and continued walking. But he had caught ahold of my hand and had pulled me back saying that he didn't catch my name the first time we had met.
I was still shocked from the way he had grabbed my arm as in abnegation too much skin contact wasn't allowed. I murmured "Beatrice prior" softly and he grinning wildly asked me to be his friend and I couldn't think of anything but say yes.
~~~~Flashback ends ~~~~

Tears come to my eyes when I think about the time he told me he had to leave abnegation because of his father. All the articles said about Marcus were true he was cruel and deceitful. Because he was the reason Tobias left me.

We were friends for 2 years and on our second year anniversary of being friends we met at a spot under a tree close to our house.

He had told me that he thought of me has more than a friend and then he leaned in and kissed me.

I was stiff in shock and then he pulled back. His eyes sad. But then I surprised myself and him to by the pulling his face toward mine and kissing him and he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We were a secret couple for one year before he had to leave. I had cried for nights after that.

ElusiveBadwolf: I loved this book so much! It's a shame that i already came to the end of this. I really enjoyed the story, and i liked it how everything became in the end. It was a great book and i can say that you are a great writer too. Keep it that way and i think you can make it in the writing business!

Cassie Jacobson: So many twists and turns. Keeps you wanting to read to see what happens next. The main character is detailed well. The struggles and growth of Joby makes you admire her. It gives you a proud satisfied feeling while reading it. A refreshing difference then most books out there today, and in a w...

rudyoxborough46: An action-packed, mystical adventure awaits anyone wishing to read this novel. I’m amazed at how well you’ve managed to flesh out the characters in this book, and I hope to read more of your work.I’ve read books about goblins and elves and all that mumbo-jumbo before, and most accounts of these c...

Charlie_8472: Recommended to me by a friend, I thought I'd give this a read. As a hobbyist blacksmith, the blurb certainly caught my attention. I found the sentence about them drinking, dancing and fighting a strange combination of activities, perhaps a reflection of the writer’s personality and humour. Howeve...

Erin Crowley: The concept here is really strong, but the execution is definitely lacking. Tenses, grammar, etc are all off, with at least one or more errors per 'Page' on my phone. The writing style is almost broken- sentences move into each other awkwardly, and are filled with an excess of "filler words", lik...

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...

Jason Phang: More, I want MORE! Your stories are keeping me from games and (gasp) even sleep! Each chapter brought fresh hooks that I willingly wolfed down (pun intended) and I just couldn't bear going to sleep not knowing what happens next to Lindsay and Wayne. I also loved how the epilogue was done. Excelle...

aaron10905: This is undoubtedly one of the best books written on here. I actually unistalled this app until someone told me about this story. I came back not expecting much, just to be drawn into the story and the characters. I would buy this book in real life, as long as another was promised shortly after.

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. The heroine of the story is easy to relate to, a modern, middleaged woman looking for an adventure, wanting t...

Giuliana Cassetta: My face is full of tears, I never cried like now with a book or even a movie. I loved every single chapter. I truly don't know what to say, I'm out of words and my eyes hurt from crying. Such an bittersweet story, it's so wonderful. One of my favorites for sure. Keep it up!

Jessica Esa: With a tantalising end to the first chapter, the authour has given us a treat and a welcome addition to the fantasy adventure genre. To limit it to just such would be an injustice however, as this novel clearly draws on elements of historical fiction, fairy tale and horror. Simply, there's someth...

Lydia Walters: I really enjoyed this novel. It gives us a view of what could be if we really tried.Also that there's nothing wrong with loving our LORD and our fellow humans. couldn't wait to get to each new chapter (mission). Thanks, Joe!
