LET'S FALL IN LOVE

CH.1

“Taetae!” An 8 year old Hoseok called. A little boy with chocolate brown hair, cute doe eyes, and a button nose with a small birthmark on the tip turned around to see his best friend running to him. “Hobi!” Taehyung smiled. Hoseok was a bit taller than Taehyung, but his face was longer and looked more boyish while Taehyung usually got confused for a girl.

“I made a new friend!” Hoseok smiled. “His name is Jungkook and he’s super cool!” Taehyung pouted a bit. ‘What about me? I thought I was the coolest?’ Taehyung thought. “Look! Here he comes! Kookie!” Hoseok called over the bunny looking boy. “Kookie, this is Taehyung! His mommy and daddy are friends with my mommy and daddy! So I guess we’re friends!” Taehyung got mad. ‘I thought we were best friends!’ He made a little fist with his hands.

Jungkook on the other hand was a little preoccupied. He kept staring at Taehyung, he thought the boy was very cute. “Kookie, say ‘hi’.” Hoseok gave him a little nudge. “H-Hi! I’m Jeo-Jeon Jungkook!” Jungkook stuttered. Hoseok burst into a fit of laughter. “You act as if Taehyung, was one of the prettiest girls in school!” Jungkook turned red, but was also mad at Hoseok because Taehyung was very pretty. When Taehyung heard that his small heart broke.

“I-I’m not pr-pretty?” Tears brimmed in his eyes. “Of course not, Taetae!” Hoseok smiled, he didn’t know what he was saying was mean. Jungkook began to panic, he didn’t want Taehyung to cry. “Hoseokie~!” A little girl giggled. “You promised that you would play with your girlfriend,” she pouted thinking it was cute. “Sorry guys I have to go. Me and my girlfriend are going to the playground.” Hoseok said before leaving.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung. He had his head down and his fists clenched at his sides, he was biting his bottom lip as his tears fell. “Taehyung? Are you okay?” Jungkook asked. Jungkook didn’t know what to do, so he did what his mom always does to him when he’s sad. He stepped towards Taehyung and slowly began to wrap his hands around him. But before he could Taehyung ran away.

He ran all the way home.

Taehyung burst through the door and ran upstairs to his bedroom. He jumped onto his bed and cried his heart out. “Taehyung? Baby?” It was his mom. He slowly opened the door and was met with a sight that broke his heart. His baby crying in the dark room. Taehyung’s Mom Kim Seokjin sat down on the bed and petted his sons’ hair. “What’s wrong?” Kim Namjoon, Taehyung’s dad asked. “Baby, can you tell us what’s wrong?” Jin asked. “H-Hobi is-is a j-jerk!” Taehyung cried. Namjoon and Jin already knew Taehyung liked Hoseok, parents intuition. “Aww, baby what did Hoseok do?” Namjoon sat next to Jin and lifted the small boy onto his lap.

“H-he does-doesn’t th-think I’m-I’m pret-pretty,” Taehyung cried into his dad’s chest. “Baby of course you’re pretty! You’re my son!” Jin exclaimed, Namjoon face palmed. “What mommy was trying to say was: you don’t need people to tell you you’re pretty. As long as you love yourself then you’re the prettiest of them all!” Namjoon said as he tickled Taehyung’s belly. Taehyung giggled, “Really?” He asked with big eyes. “Really.” Jin and Namjoon said at the same time.

That day Taehyung learned a very important lesson. One, he should always love himself, two, his parents are his true best friends.

The next day Taehyung tried to talk to Hoseok again, but Hoseok was always either with his “girlfriend” or Jungkook. And slowly Taehyung just gave up. He and Hoseok slowly drifted apart and Taehyung’s feelings slowly died.
