Chapter 1

Hearing someone scream frantically whilst your in a deep slumber is horrible, groaning I peel my eyes open and look towards the source of the scream only to see Courtney Bauer strutting around our dorm room in a red dress with a fierce pout on her face as Mick Morrison screams with delight at how ‘amazing’ the dress looks on her. Moaning I slam my head back down on the pillow and try to go back to sleep. Just another day at Gallagher I suppose.

It's Saturday today, and if you walked into our dorm room you could probably tell, why? Well because it is utter chaos in here. Seriously it looks like a bomb has gone off in here, I swear that half of the senior year are in our room waiting for Macey to 'primp' them up- I wouldn't mind if it wasn't 7am in the morning. But it is! Groaning I throw my legs to the side of the bed and stand up only to fall over some shoes that someone has put there. Really? I glance up from my spot on the floor to see Macey armed with a curling wand ready to attack with a smug grin on her face.

"No no no no! Macey please don't! My brain. It's not functioning properly yet, it's only 7 in the morning!" I shout frantically standing up as I look around the room for Cammie, I spot her standing by Liz and she's bent over clutching her stomach laughing uncontrollably. Traitor! I throw my hands up in the air as Liz looks wearily at me whilst trying to control the smile that's edging on her lips. Macey pulls me towards the dressing table and shoves me in the chair.

"Now hold still Baxter, we’ve got to make you look amazing for Mr.Newman." Macey says winking at me through the mirror. I roll my eyes at her and I can feel a small smirk appear on my mouth as the whole room sings along to the radio which is currently playing 'She Knows' by Ne-Yo and I can't help but join in. It’s going to be along day...

"Good luck Bex!"My friends coo at me, hugging me tightly as I walk over to Grant who is patiently waiting for me by the main entrance. Looking back at them when we start heading out of the Gallagher Academy gates I can’t help but laugh at them all making a fool of themselves as they send me exaggerated winks and thumbs up. You’ve got to love them, right.

"Hey Bex." Grant says as he gently takes my hand and kisses my knuckles. I feel my entire face heat up at this small gesture and smile at him before doing a small curtsy. This is ridiculous, did I, Bex Baxter, daughter of Abe and Grace Baxter, two of the best MI6 agents- curtsy to a hormonal teenage boy, a Blackthorne boy at the least, rival spy academy. It appears I just did.

"Why hello Grant." I say sniggering and he just laughs at this and wraps his arm around my shoulder as we start walking. I never thought about going on dates with boys, it was always getting the latest weapons and planning the ultimate disguise or getting the best techniques for field work, but yet here I am on a date with Grant Newman also known as the Greek God of Blackthorne Institute. I can sort of understand why Cammie always went on dates with that civilian- Josh Abrams, It’s a nice feeling to know that someone of the opposite gender is attracted to you.

"So, I was thinking we could go to the cinema and then the local diner? If you want that is." Grant says looking at me as he messes up his hair. Aw isn't he just a cutie I gush to myself. Gee Bex look at what a softy you are- you're Bex Baxter not some love- sick girl… Oh come on how can you not love this guy!

"Sounds great!" I say grinning up at him as he looks down at me and winks at me. Why does it feel like Liz has tested one of her new inventions on me? My stomach feels all tingly and stuff, I’ll have to ask Cammie and Macey about it later. They’ll know...

"Tell me about yourself Baxter." Grant says as his arm slips from my shoulders to wrap around my waist pulling me closer to him.

"Well, I'm 17 nearly 18 in a weeks time. I was originally born in London and my parents are Abe and Grace Baxter." I say smirking at him. Yes I'm proud to be a Baxter. I mean have you seen my parents in action, trust me there lethal on field work.

"What about you then?" I ask him.

"Well my British bombshell my name is Grant Newman I'm 18 years old and I'm talking to a stunning girl." He says winking at me. Queue red cheeks.

“British bombshell? Where’d that come from huh?” I ask confused as I nudge him lightly. He blushes lightly as he chuckles before looking down at me.

“Well you’re from London, and well you’re bombshell. I guess what I’m trying to say is that, you’re stunning Bex.” He says softly as he smiles at me, I can’t help but return it.

"Hey, are you sure this is Insidious 3?" I whisper to Grant as I watch the screen and let me tell you nothing scary has happened yet, it's basically your normal horror cliche, you know- teenage girl in the house alone and with a crazy demon guy trying to possess her.

"Yeah Bex, I'm not so sure about that…" I hear him say just as said crazy demon guy makes an appearance in the girls room, I look towards him to see him jump slightly as he slowly shoves popcorn into his mouth intent on watching the screen. Scaredy cat I snigger to myself. I wait till the movie is silent again indicating there's a jump scare on the way and just as the demon pops up I blow cold air into Grant's ear and he jumps and nearly falls out of his seat. Popcorn everywhere. Oops.

"Bex! You scared me!" He says laughing as he sits back on his chair, looking around the room trying to see if anyone saw his little freaked out moment.

"Sorry Grant." I look towards him to see him trying to ignore me, oh so he wants to play huh?

"What can I do to make it up to you Granty?" I ask him smirking as I see the corner of his mouth tug upwards slightly.

"Well. I must say a small peck would be amazing Baxter." He says wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I chuckle at his response and raise my eyebrow.

"Is that so Newman?" He nods and wriggles his eyebrows and I laugh hysterically at this, cause believe it or not this guy actually has great eyebrows.

"Shh!" A middle- aged couple hush us from behind as I give him a small peck on the cheek. And even in the dark I can clearly see a crimson colour sneak it's way onto his cheeks. I lean into his ear and whisper-

"That's all you're getting Newman. For now." I say smugly as I turn to watch the film unknown to me that Grant never watched the film as he was smiling at me…

Cammie POV

"How'd you think she's doing?" Liz asks again as we all finish our milkshakes. I glance at Liz to see her delicate features edged with worry. Sighing I turn towards her.

"Liz, I'm sure she's doing perfectly fine. And if not. Well, she knows how to take care of herself and plus she's got us as backup." I say smirking at her as she slowly nods her head then smiles brightly.

"You're right. Bex is the toughest one out of all of us; she'll be fine-"Liz pauses mid sentence as she stares gob- smacked at the diner's entrance, confused I turn around to see what she's looking at to see Bex and Grant stroll through the doors holding hands as they both smile at each other. Damn! Looking towards Macey I see that she's looking at a boy sitting on the other side of the diner, who just winked at her. Then something unbelievable happens- Macey yes Macey blushes. Okay can someone take a photo of this, because this is a rare sight! I nudge her arm as she hesitantly removes her gaze from the boy to face me. Wriggling my eyebrows I smirk at her-

"Macey's got an admirer." I sing as she smacks my arm lightly laughing. She scoffs and tells me to hush as her cheeks glow a brighter shade of crimson.

"Look over there!" I say motioning towards Bex and Grant who are sitting very closely to each other at the bar. Macey's eyes widened as she takes in the scene.

"Oh my god! Cammie! Do you realise what this means!" Macey shouts excitedly gaining everyone's attention just as Liz grabs a menu blocking us from Bex and Grant's view.

"Shh! We've got to stay low so they don't suspect anything." Liz says looking pointedly at Macey who is gushing at how cute they are together.

"Yeah, I'm sure we're low enough because I can smell greasy fries on this table, and let me tell you something they don't smell good!" Macey whispers as she sniffs the table and pulls a face.

"You do realise, if Bex catches us that we're screwed." I whisper frantically as we all peek over the top of the menu to see Bex and Grant kissing. Woah! We all look at each other and high five.

"Aww my baby pulled!" Macey says clasping her hands together and looking at the couple, gaining more attention from the other customers in the diner.

"We should get out of here before they see us!" Liz says anxiously. We all nod in agreement and make a run for the exit.

Bursting into the sunlight we all start dancing around and giggling and I'm sure that if someone walked past us they'd shove us in an insane asylum. Because we probably looked crazy!

"We've got to interview her when we all get back!" Liz says as we all loop arms and start slowly walking down the pavement.

We all sit patiently on our beds as Bex enters the room looking like a kid on Christmas. She freezes as she catches our expectant expressions and swallows nervously as she closes the dorm door.

"Bex, how'd it go?" Macey asks giddily, even though we all know exactly how well the date went, and knowing Bex, I put it past her that she was clueless either.

"Well seeming as you were in the diner with us, I thought you'd of known." She says smugly as she throws her body on her bed grinning.

"Okay, we totally saw that kiss! How was it?" We all ask in unison as Bex rolls her eyes playfully.

"It was good.” She states smugly as we all look at her with shock. Macey looks at her slowly blinking, disbelief evident on her face.

“Just good? Not amazing?” Macey questions her as she rolls her eyes, smirking.

“Oh it was good.” Bex laughs as we all catch on.

“Oh it was one of those good ones.” Macey winks as we all no in agreement.

"So is it official?" I ask sitting on her bed as I nudge her shoulder. Bex glances at all of us and nods as she bursts out laughing.

"I'm dating Grant Newman." She replies as we all tackle her for a hug. What? We're emotional girls everyone!
