That was when I first saw her. She had flowing red hair and beautiful green eyes. My parents always taught me that muggle borns were ugly and unclean, but this girl, she was an angel. I never really believed in love at first sight, but things change. I never really experienced love either. There is no love in my family. They're all Slytherins. They can't spread love easily.
From my hiding spot in the tree, I saw another girl. Not nearly as beautiful as the other one; she had stringy brown hair and a long skinny neck, but the same eyes as the other girl, so they were obviously sisters.
"Come inside Lily, Mother says tea's ready," the stringy haired girl yelled.
"Coming Petunia!" the red haired girl looked up into the tree, but how on earth could she have known I was there? Was that ... was that a smile? She opened up her hand and an origami crane fluttered up to my hiding spot. I caught it, and quickly pocketed it. And then both girls ran off into the distance.
I jumped down from the tree thinking, Lily, what a beautiful name. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
