Weeks passed and I kept noticing how Lily was extremely talented in witchcraft. She could swing herself so high on the swing, and let go, and float down to the ground like a feather. Her sister Petunia thought it was unfair that Lily could perform magic and called her a freak. I wanted to scream back at Petunia that being a muggle was a freak, and they should be controlled by the Ministry, but I didn't have the courage.
One day when Petunia was shrieking "FREAK!" at Lily and being a unexceptionally mean, I jumped down from my hiding spot. I gave Petunia a death stare and spat the word muggle at her. She ran away.
I could think of one hundred things to say to Lily, but before I could speak, she said, "What's a muggle?"
"Non magical folk," I told her.
"So you're like me?"
"Yes Lily, we are both wizards." I picked up a leaf and with all my magic, I turned it into an origami crane. I made it float over to her.
"Thankyou," she whispered in awe. "What's your name?"
"Severus Snape," I said, getting the origami crane she made me all those weeks ago out of my pocket.
"Lily Evans." We shook hands, and my heart felt like it could flutter away.
