Arranged Marriage

Chapter 1

Nick’s p.o.v.

I walked into my house and my phone immediately started ringing. The ringtone was Rockstar by Post Malone. That’s my best friend, Andy, he loves that song.

“Are you excited to meet your goddess?” He asked when I answered.

I sighed and walked down the hallway to my room. I live in a trailer, but nobody besides Andy knows.

“No, not really.” I answered. “Is it because of your house?” He asked silently. “You don’t want her to-“ I cut him off. “Yes, Andy. Please stop talking now.” The other end was silent.

“Sorry.” He muttered.

I picked out a gray dress shirt and blue jeans. I put the phone. On speaker and changed.

“Do you think she has a hot friend?” Andy asked. I laughed at my ridiculous best friend.

“What about Tabitha? I thought you liked her?” I asked, amused.

I could feel him shrugging on the other end. “She obviously doesn’t feel the same.” He sighed.

“I’m sorry, man. There’s one out there for you.”

“At least I get to pick.” I heard him mumble.

I laughed and grabbed my keys and went to my uncles. He wanted to surprise me with who it was.

“I gotta go. I’m at my Uncles.” We hung up and I walked up the stairs to my uncles front door. I ran my hand through my dirty blonde hair and knocked.

My Aunt Jess steppes answered the door. “Hello Nicky!” She hugged me. “Hi.” I laughed and hugged her back.

“Go wait by the car, he’s coming down the steps right now.” As I walked down the stepp, I heard footsteps behind me. The car unlocked and I got in.

When Uncle Gray got in, he blindfolded me. My anxiety started to level up a little. Gray put his hand on my forearm. “Calm down, Nick. It’s fine.”

My breathing slowed but my heartbeat was still racing. I practice the techniques my dad taught me when I was younger. Calm down and breath deeply.

We drove in silence and stopped about 10 minutes later. Uncle Gray got out and walked to the other side and helped me out. I stumbled over a big rock in the grass and one of the stairs on the porch.

Uncle Gray knocked and seconds later the door opened.

“Hello, Grayson.” The guy who opened the door said. We walked in and Uncle Gray led me to what I assumed was a couch, considering it was soft.

“Ok, you guys can take your blindfolds off in...” Uncle Gray counted down from five to one then we each took our blindfolds off.

When I saw the pretty brown haired girl look t me we each had similar expressions- shock and horror.
